Billionaire Boss Series: ALLURE, DESIRE AND TEMPTATION Page 17

He was like a dead body in a sense, mostly because it was like carrying something completely limp. He wasn’t very helpful with the moving thing, so Alyssa had to carry him using her own strength all the way to the car.

Thankfully she parked in the first spot she could find, so it made her life a bit more tolerable, but she still had a hard time trying to move around. It bothered her that it happened like this, but then again, she was definitely happy with the way it was going.

She was definitely sure that it was for the best to take him back to her place, but she was also curious about how he got so messed up.

What the hell happened between them leaving and now? What occurred here? She knew that there wasn’t a bar fight. All of the people seemed to be pretty calm, and Travis would’ve been kicked out hours ago if so.

So what really did happen? She was confused, and there were a lot of unanswered questions regarding all of this that she wanted to find out.

She would try to decipher all of this alter, but for now, she had to get him to safety. When she got to the car, she put him in the passenger seat, clicking on his belt. She got in on the driver’s side, driving quickly and not stopping until she got home. When she did, she looked over at Travis, who was a bit dazed.

“Are you sober enough to walk?” she asked.

“I think so. But my head is pounding. And I know that I shouldn’t have done that, but to be honest, I thought it would be the solution to everything, especially with what I’m going through right now. I hurt you, and I hurt myself, but I did something that I think was for the best,” he said to her.

“Well, you can tell me about it in the morning when you’ve sobered up and tried to figure out what the hell happened last night. For now, you should just stay at my place. I’ll put you in the bed. I’ll sleep on the couch,” she said.

“No. I want you to stay with me tonight Alyssa. I’m worried, and I’m scared, and I want to have you near me. I know that this sounds selfish as fuck, but I need you more right now than you could ever imagine. I’m sorry, but I need this,” he said to her.

She looked at him as if he was crazy, but she sighed, realizing that it was what was needed. After a moment or so, she then sighed, grasping him and bringing him in. When she got to her room, she stepped in, taking off his shirt, belt, shoes, and pants. She left his underwear and socks on.

  “Is that okay?” she asked.

“Yes. Thank you so much Alyssa. I knew that I could trust you. I was worried about what I should do in this situation, but I realized that the answer was right in front of me. I’m so happy to have you,” he said.

He was still drunk, but Alyssa humored him. “I’m glad to have you as well. Let’s get some sleep,” she told him.

The two of them knew that it was only a matter of time before the truth would come out, the explanations that they both needed to hear. Alyssa was definitely excited to hear about this, and it was definitely what she needed to figure out.

She was not happy with the fact that she was going to have to deal with him in the morning, but she was sure that whatever did happen would be explained in due time. Once she had him put away, she got herself ready for bed as well, putting on a nightgown and heading over to the other side of the bed.

She turned off the lights, a bit nervous about how this would pan out. Was he a drunk that liked to get it on? Probably not, considering he wasn’t trying anything with her yet. But then, he wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tightly.

“I need you near me. Don’t go in tomorrow. You’re off just like me. I’m not going to try anything, I just need you now,” he told her.

Alyssa was a bit put off by all of this, but at the same time, she knew that it was something that he needed now more than anything. Although she wasn’t a big fan of the fact that he was hugging her and touching her like it was normal, she knew that it was better to be doing this than other things.

She felt him embrace her, snuggling up to her as he started to fall asleep. Within moments, he was out, and Alyssa stared at the wall. It was about three in the morning now, and she should be sleeping, but she had a tirade of questions that she needed to figure out.

She wanted to know why the hell he did what he did, and why he was getting plastered at some bar. She didn’t know where the marks that he got came from either. Neon of them were big wounds, just some bruising, but it looked like he did get in a fight.

But a part of her told herself that it wasn’t the type of fight that she was thinking about, your typical bar fight. No, there was something else that happened here, something that she would have to find out in the morning once he was sobered up.

Once he was ready to spill the beans on whatever the hell he was doing, and the fact that he was acting so different than before. Alyssa could already feel the anticipation in her bones at the thought of this, but she didn’t know just how crazy it was about to become.

Sure enough, the truth would come out soon, and she would hear something that she never expected to hear from him ever, and it would change everything.

  Chapter ten

The next day felt strange, because they didn’t wake up until about two in the afternoon. She got up, seeing the sleeping form next to her. He shuffled in the bed, getting up and looking at her.

  “Fuck that light,” he said.

She turned it off, closing the blinds as well. He was probably hung over, which makes sense since that was what happened after he drank so much. She got up, looking at him with a smile.

“Do you want some juice and some food?” she asked.

“Yeah. Man I feel like shit. God, I regret everything that I did last night. I remember it all, including you taking me home. I don’t forget shit when I’m drunk. I mean, I’m glad that I did what I did, but I’m still trying to get over the pain of the alcohol and what it’s done to me,” he told her.

She glanced at him, knowing for sure that the answer to her questions was right here. He would tell her in due time just what the hell was going on.

After getting up, she went to the kitchen to cook breakfast, come bacon and eggs with some hash browns and a croissant, which was a good breakfast for her. She wondered what he would think. After a moment or so, she brought it back, and soon he thanked her.

“You’re a lifesaver, you know that. I’m glad to have you,” he stated.

“Same here. Then we can talk about what the hell happened last night, and why you’ve been acting strange if that’s okay with you,” she stated.

“That’s fine with me. Trust me, I’m a bit wary myself about what I just did. I know that it’s a bit nerve-wracking to have all of that, but I’m sure that whatever the case, we can figure it out,” he told her.

“Yeah, but I just want to know what the hell made you want to go to the bar of all places and drink like a crazy person,” she stated.

“It’s a long story, but I know that once we finish eating, we will have all the time in the world,” he explained.

She damn knew it as well, and she was going to use that time wisely. The two of them finished eating, and after a moment or so, they looked at one another, and soon they realized that this was it, that this was the life that they were about to deal with.

“So…care to explain,” she told him.

“Yeah. The thing is, I went there to meet with someone. Someone that I’ve wanted to put behind for a long time, and someone that I knew was toxic to me, and it wasn’t going to be good if I kept her around,” he told her.

She looked at him, wondering just what he was getting at. Who was this toxic person that was causing a whole shit storm of drama between them?

“Who is it? Is it someone that we know?” she asked.

“Yes, it’s someone that you kind of know, but it’s someone that I knew for a very long time. I felt bad that I needed to end this with this person, but she had become bad, and she was starting to become crazier than before.

I know that it was foolish of me to leave this hanging for so
long, but I’m sorry, it’s hard to talk about this person and to just let her go. She was a part of my past, and a part of my past that was hard to get out of my head until now,” he told her.

“Who is it?” she asked. She knew that she really didn’t need to ask this question, because deep down she knew for a fact that it was the one person that she would rather not deal with more than anything else out there.

“Ivy. The two of us were trying to iron out our differences, but to be honest, it’s hopeless. I wanted to keep her as a friend still, but she was going insane, and the tow of us tried to work things out, but it ended with us just trying to bite each other’s head off before this time.

Then, she found out that I’m with you now, and she was determined to get you out of the picture. I had to stop her, and that’s why I came by there the other night. She works there, but she doesn’t anymore. Her boss canned her, and she was taken by the authorities because of what she did,” he told her.

She glanced at him, listening to all of this.

“So that’s why the bartender was so cool with you,” she stated.

“Yeah, he’s an old buddy of mine. But I went over there to tell her to back the hell off. I’m done with her, and when I fired her, that should’ve bee the end. But she’s crazy, a crazy bitch that I would rather eat lead than deal with on a daily basis.

I told her to leave me be or else I would call security and I would file for a restraining order, but to be honest, that doesn’t work on chicks like her. She thought that it would be an honor to have a restraining order from a guy like me, so she told me that she plans on bothering me some more.

I thought that she was fucking around, but apparently not. All of a sudden, she attacked me, begging me to take her back. I told her no, that I don’t want her in my life anymore not as a friend, and not as a ghost of the past.

That wasn’t enough for this crazy woman though, and soon she was literally beating the living shit out of me because of it, demanding that I take her back, demanding that I let her be mine. Demanding that I get rid of you. I thought that this was some sort of sick joke, but to be honest, it wasn’t.

It was a joke that was going to hurt both of us, and after a little while, I told her to fuck off. She then started to punch me, and she had an intent to kill on her face. The bartender pulled me off, and at this point I was so messed up I couldn’t really think straight.

I then grabbed a few drinks downing them. The police got her, and they tended to my injuries as best as possible, which is why they look better today. I mean, I’m a bit shocked at the fact that it was so easy to take care of the bruises, but it did make me feel wary about ever going to that place again.

But she’s in custody now, and she will get charges for assault and battery. She’s also been stalking both of us, and I know that she had plans to take us out, so that’s why I had to stop her,” he stated.

“Holy shit. That was not what I was expecting,” she stated.

“Yeah, well that’s what happens when you’re an idiot and you let your ex stay in your life after everything that had happened. I’m happy to have her out now, but man it took forever to get to that point. But now that I have, I feel better about myself, and I feel like there is a chance that I’ll be okay once I get out of this,” he told her.

“I think we both will be. But how in the world did she hurt you so badly? Why did she?” she asked.

“Because she’s crazy. And she got a few cheap shots in. I’m amazed that I managed to get out alive to be honest. I heard that her anger had gotten worse over the years, but I never thought that it would be this bad,” he explained.

“Same here. I can’t believe that you got attacked by someone like that period,” she replied back.

“Well sometimes it’s just the way shit happens. I mean, I don’t really approve of the fact that I got my ass handed to, but it’s the way it goes. It is what it is, and that’s how I deal with things,” he explained to her.

She listened to this, nodding at the words that came out of his mouth. So that’s what happened. She had someone threatening her, and threatening him, so he took her out, getting hurt in the process. But that didn’t explain who she was.

“So what did you and Ivy have with one another? I mean, it seems a bit strange that the two of you are so close and have such ties but she’s so crazy,” she stated.

“Well, let me just say right now that Ivy isn’t as nice as you think. Well, she’s not nice period, but it’s more of the fact that it’s more of an insanity that is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. See, Ivy and I were best friends during childhood. We had a great time together, and I really liked her.

But then, I moved away a while back, leaving her behind. When I got back, she was entirely different person, and not in a good way,” he stated.

She listened to this, taking it all in, and realizing that there was more to this chick than she thought.

“Damn. So what the hell happened to you?” she asked.

“Well, I think it was the fact that she had a rough past. Her family wasn’t the nicest, and she used me as a sort of crutch most of the time. When I got back, I was a lot stronger, but I noticed that she was acting different towards me.

It was almost as if she didn’t give a shit about me anymore, and I know that it was something that would probably end up biting me in the ass, but I felt bad for her. So I took care of her, and soon the two of us had a wild relationship with one another. I regret ever starting that,” he stated.

“I imagine. So what the hell did she do?” she asked.

“Well for one, we always had sex. We never did any other intimate things but that. It seemed okay, but I felt kind of more alone with her than without her. She didn’t care about anything else but herself and her own sexual gratification. I would offer to take her out to dinner, but she didn’t care.

I would offer to help her out with various parts of her life, but to no result. I really tried to be a good person to her, but she only wanted to fuck and that was it. I love sex, but that’s not a relationship. I learned from there that staying with her was the worst mistake of my life.

I learned that I had to get out now before it was too late. That’s when I started to distance myself. And soon she became abusive, with substance abuse. I got her into rehab once, but she relapsed.

I thought giving her a job would work, but she was rude to everyone, and I found out that pretty much everyone hated her. The fact that she turned you away because she saw you as a threat was the final straw. I fired her, telling her to fuck off, but she didn’t,” he told her.

“Yeah, she didn’t. Apparently she’s been stalking us. So it sounds like the two of you have a history,” she explained.

“That’s an understatement. I have quite the predicament with her. We were friends, but now we’re not for obvious reasons. But I didn’t know what to do about that. So I had to let her go. She was ruining me.

She was bothering me a lot, and it made me feel like I was holding myself back by keeping her around. That’s why I let her go, because I couldn’t deal with the pain of it anymore, and the fact that she was haunting me,” he told her.

“Yeah, that’s quite the issue,” she told him.

“You’re telling me. I mean, I don’t really care that I am getting a lot of shit for this, but I know that it’s going to be painful on all of us, so I’m just going to have a moment and attempt to figure out what to do with my life,” he told her.

“Well you should do what makes you happy. I mean, that just sounds toxic to have around,” she told him.

“Yeah, no shit. She’s fucking insane, and I can’t have insane chicks. When I met you, I knew that there was something about you that was something different, something that was almost good for me in a sense.

I wanted to make it so that we could have a great time together, a life that would be better than ever before, and it was something that I craved more than anything else. I wanted that, I wanted that more than
anything, and soon I started to realize that you were perfect for me.

You were smart, sweet funny, and definitely an overall good person, and we were made for one another. After a little bit, I started to feel something for you, something that scared me for a bit.

That’s why I’m a bit off to be honest. It’s a feeling that I thought I had felt in the past, but I realized that there was something different about this. When I felt this feeling, I felt lighter, it was the feeling of love,” he explained.

She was shocked, but in a way it made perfect sense.

“So you feel love with me?” she asked.

“I damn well do. You’re perfect for me Alyssa. You’re smart, funny, and we have the same interests. You’ve turned the company around. To be honest I gave the other girl a job because it was more of a pity thing, but with you, I realized that it was only getting worse with wear.

I wanted to know that I was doing the right thing, so I continued to have you around, and sure enough, it was. You were the right person for me Alyssa, you were the woman that I was supposed to fall for, and for that, I’m happy to have you.

I’m happy to know that the gut feelings that were present within my body weren’t just some bullshit that was harboring within me, but really something else. Something better for the both of us, and for that, I feel grateful,” he told her.

“Same here. I’m shocked that you feel this way,” she replied.

It was definitely refreshing to hear him say that. She thought that he was getting tired her of, but rather, it was the opposite. He wanted more, and so did she.

“Are you sure you want more though?” she asked.

“Damn sure. I’m a bit scared to be honest but I know that deep down, you’re a great person, and it was definitely something that made her feel like it was real.

“Well, I feel the same way. I’ve been worried about getting in a relationship for a very long time because of the past that I’ve had. I mean, it hadn’t been easy for me at all, not in the very least.
