He wondered what it would be like to have this every night. To have Lorie and Spencer in his home and in his bed all of the time. He didn’t want to scare them off by moving too fast, but they had both admitted to being in love with him after only a couple weeks. He had never believed in love at first sight; hell, Clay had never really believed in love until he met the two of them. They had already changed him tremendously in no time, in a good way.

As he laid there watching them, Lorie stirred and her eyes fluttered open. She rubbed her eyes and yawned before noticing he was watching her. Immediately a sweet smile spread across her face as she looked back at him. “Morning,” she said.

  “Morning,” Clay replied.

Spencer groaned and peeked at them through one eye. “Ugh. Is it morning already?”

Clay and Lorie laughed. “Yeah, Spence, I’m afraid it is.”

“Fine,” Spencer groaned, then he propped himself up on an elbow. “Why do you look so bright eyed as soon as you wake up?” he asked Clay.

“Because I didn’t just wake up,” Clay told him.

Spencer rolled his eyes. “Of course you didn’t.”

Clay just kept watching them. He didn’t want to forget this moment. Waking up in bed with the two of them for the first time after admitting their love for one another—and after he revealed all of himself to them.

Spencer raised an eyebrow at him. “So, how long have you been just lying there watching us sleep?”

  Clay shrugged. “No idea.”

“When did you become such a softy?” Spencer said playfully.

“When I fell in love with two amazing people.” Clay flashed his brightest smile, making Lorie and Spencer laugh. They both rolled over and climbed out of the bed and headed for the bathroom, probably to brush their teeth. He watched them and just before they walked into the bathroom he just blurted out, “Move in with me.”

Spencer and Lorie both stopped dead in their tracks. They looked over at each other, then they slowly turned around to face Clay. “Clay,” Lorie said, and he knew she was about to give him the sensible response. Tell him that they hadn’t been in a relationship for long enough and it was a really big step. Say that they needed to take things slow because their relationship would be complicated enough since there were three of them and they all worked together.

Clay knew all of the reasons they should wait; all of the reasons why it was a bad idea for the three of them to live together so soon. Still, he wanted them to say yes. He wanted them to be with him every night, in his home and in his bed. Even more, he wanted it to be their home and their bed. No matter how many reasons there were for them to wait, in his heart he knew that they belonged together and they would make it work.

“I know all of the reasons you are going to tell me that this is a bad idea,” Clay told them. “That it’s too soon, but I don’t care about any of that. Trust me, I have run through the reasons not to ask you both to move in over and over, but more than any of that I want you both here.”

Spencer quickly made his way back across the room to the bed, and Lorie was right there with him. Spencer yanked him forward and kissed the sense right out of him. When he released him, Lorie was watching them with her hands on her hips. “If you would have let me finish,” she told him, “I was going to say that I would love to move in with the two of you.”

Spencer nodded his head in her direction, “What she said. You keep forgetting that we want you; we love you and we aren’t going anywhere. I can’t think of a better idea than being able to live with both of you so we can wake up together every morning just like we did a few minutes ago.”

Clay was overcome by happiness. He wasn’t naïve enough to believe everything would always be flowers and rainbows. He knew they would have to work hard to make their relationship work, and that they would have bad days, but he wanted to put in the work. He knew right then that he was going to do whatever he needed to in order to make sure he got to spend the rest of his life with both of the two people standing in front of him. He might have spent most of his life broken, but he could feel the pieces of himself coming together. Today was the beginning of a brand-new life for them, and he was diving right in.
