The prognosis for Eddie M-, in spite of the tragic ending that his mother encountered, is relatively optimistic, at least in the development of his sexual nature. It is highly unlikely that he has succumbed to any strong gerontophilic urges; it is doubtful that he had actually had any such urges even while he was having the affair with his mother.
The tragedy of Eddie's mother, clearly evident from the preceding narrative need not be expanded on any further. One can only say that it is unfortunate that she had not had the opportunity to question the nature of her life and the demons of mind and body before they drove her to oblivion. The End
