Dante’s World 3: Tale of the Night Page 7

by Willa Okati

Oh, how he did. He couldn’t have stopped himself. Gently, he peeled the tunic away from that sleekly muscled chest, undid Aydn’s own laces, and slid his gossamer-thin trousers away. Aydn was wearing silk underclothing, purple, with a dark spot at their front. Gorgeous.

Darien couldn’t resist sliding to his knees and mouthing over that patch, tasting salt-sweetness and feeling, as he lapped at its outlines, an erection hard enough to match his own. Soft groans of “Master, please, Master,” from a vampire should have horrified him. He couldn’t have stopped then, though, and didn’t until Aydn was as bare as himself and they were standing groin to groin, cock to cock, undulating slowly as the pressure and the tension built.

“In the shower,” Aydn gasped. “Master, please. Under the water.”

Darien had no idea how he managed to pull himself away, stand and turn on the taps, much less work the complicated tangles of the glass-bead curtain, but he managed. Somehow they staggered inside, barely taking their hands off each other. Finally, he was able to drop to his knees once again to taste Aydn’s cock. He was a master at the art; he’d had enough lovers tell him so to know it was true. Reducing his seducer into a shaking mass leaning against the shower wall just to stay upright gave him a mighty sense of power.

He stopped before Aydn came, stood roughly, and turned him round about. He wasn’t dumb enough to use anything like the scented soaps as lubricant, but as he’d hoped, in this, Aydn’s private shower, a flask of oil nestled in among the bottles.

No time to be gentle; he couldn’t wait. Tugging the cork out of the flask, he tipped it up and let a generous stream pour on his fingers. When his whole hand glistened with oil, he moved again, nudging Aydn’s legs far apart with his knees. He slicked his hand down the creases of the vampire’s ass until he found that puckered hole, tight as a virgin’s despite everything, and thrust two fingers in.

The howl Aydn gave, mixed with garbled cries of “Master, please,” were almost enough to make him shoot before he even got in. Darien went rough and fast with his preparation, knowing it must have almost hurt but that Aydn was getting off on what he did. The vampire’s erection twitched. He shook harder than a tree in a storm.

When Darien finally lined up his cock with Aydn’s hole and nudged, then thrust in deeply, both of them let out loud groans that echoed off the tiled walls. “This what you wanted?” Darien grunted, pushing in slow, shallow strokes. “Is that what you draped yourself all over me for?”

Aydn half-laughed, breathless. “More,” he taunted. “Give me more, Master. I’m a big, bad vampire. I can take it.”

So Darien gave him more, battering ruthlessly into that gripping tightness until he was clumsy with the effort of struggling to hold back his orgasm.

“Please, Master,” Aydn whispered, turning his head back a little. “Give me permission to come. It hurts.”

Good, Darien thought. Good! He slipped soap-slickened hands around to the vampire’s cock, grasped it, and began to jack him. “Come,” he rasped. “Come for me, Aydn. Come for me. My pet. Mine!”

Aydn shuddered and spasmed around him. Darien felt the jets of liquid cream spurting over his palms, and it did him in. He grasped Aydn’s slim hips hard enough to leave bruises, thrusting hard as he could, and came deep, deep inside the vampire, the force so intense that they both gasped.

As one, they leaned against the shower wall, breathing heavily and feeling the water pound down on them. Steam and the smell of come and chamomile filled the air. Darien was still deep inside the vampire, and he didn’t want to slide out, to put an end to their joining. He was angry, but willing to admit his defeat.

“You win,” he growled softly into the vampire’s ear. “Question is, Aydn -- what do you do with me now?”

Aydn pulled free just long enough to writhe around in Darien’s grasp. Water beaded his face as it would on a statue. Beauty frozen in time, forever young. He bared his fangs. “I could suck you off,” he said seductively. “Wash you clean and then let you fuck my mouth.”

  “Not funny.”

“Not meant to be.” Aydn curled his tongue around one fang. He let it go with a wicked look. “Have you ever felt the kiss of a vampire?”

“Never. And Gods help me, I don’t know what’s going to happen now that I have.” Darien braced himself against the walls of the shower. “How do I go back to the City Guard with this on my conscience?”

“Is that it?” Aydn looked scornful.

“No, of course it’s not. You know as much.”

The scoff turned into a slinky smile. “You want me,” Aydn purred. “I knew you would. I asked my sister to pick me out a handsome one, after all.”

  “You asked --”

  “What do you think?”

Darien fell silent. “Damn. She knew this would happen, didn’t she?”

  “She had a good idea.”

  “You’ve done this before?”

“On occasion. But, Darien…” Aydn reached up to thumb wet strands of Darien’s hair off his forehead. “This time I wanted someone big and strong, who could handle himself. I need to get out of the city. Bad things are coming. Soon.”

Darien stared at him. “Bad? And how? Your necklace.”

“This?” Aydn snorted and tugged the supposedly binding leash off his neck. He cast it clattering to the shower floor. “I figured out how to counteract this a long time ago. My sister knows this. She knew I would make a break for freedom. She left me alone to give me a chance.”

  “I don’t understand.”

“That much is pretty clear,” Aydn muttered, leavening the sting of his words by cupping Darien’s cheek. “There’s much more to this story, but here’s the upshot: the vampires, any of them who have a drop of common sense, are leaving. The rulers are going to destroy us all, soon. Anyone who’s ever been suspected of dealing with vampires is fair game. The Hunter. Robhain. Morgan. All of them are on their way out. We aren’t wanted here, so we’ll go where we can live freely.”

He pressed a finger to Darien’s lips. “Ssh. We’ll find blood. We can drink from animals, even though we don’t like to. Plus, there will be humans where we’re going. This new city, where we can all be safe. Humans who have ‘consorted’ with us in the past. Oh, no, stop that, we won’t go after them. We mean to live in peace. As for the urge to stalk and kill, well, there are always murderers, thieves and rapists around. Sad, but there you have it.” Aydn flashed his fangs. “Would you deny us a chance to play guard?”

He finger-walked his hand up to one of Darien’s flat nipples and tweaked the nub. “Or play on a guard… I always wanted one of you for my own.”

Darien pulled away from the bond on his lips. He shook his head. “I can’t just leave. The guards -- I’ve trained all my adult life to work among them. I’ve tried so hard for a promotion.”

“What makes you think there’ll be any guards left after this?” The question struck Darien dumb. Aydn looked almost sad. “The guards will be used up in this measure. When they’re gone, they’ll be replaced by another peacekeeping force. The whole city is being shaken by the roots, Darien. You wanted a promotion? A chance to be someone? My sister knew. She favored you. That’s why she chose you for me.” He did look sad then. “That’s why she won’t be coming back, and I’ll never see her again.”

  “Did you --”

“No! Gods, no.” Aydn looked so earnest that Darien couldn’t help believing him. “She’s not dead. She’s just gone somewhere -- else. Our paths part here. I’ll be alone, unless…” The hand still on his chest toyed with his nipple. “Come with me,” he coaxed. “We’re bonded now. I can feel it, and I know you can feel it.”

Darien shivered. The shower water was growing cold around them. All the same, if he concentrated, he could feel the bond Aydn had mentioned. It ran the length of his body, from throat to cock, and down his legs. “How do you know?” he asked, wavering in the balance.

“How did I manage to bypass the enchantment on my charm?” Aydn pre
ssed close. “I’m no fool. The two women here last night, they bring messages as well as sharing their company. This is my last chance. I want to leave this place. Walk at my side, and you’ll be one of the rulers of our new kingdom. I am old, for one of my kind. I have power and prestige, even if I have been pretending to be muzzled.”

He dropped into a kneeling position, trailing his hands down Darien’s thighs. “Come with me,” he whispered. “Come for me. Be my own. Say yes, Darien, say yes.”

“Why?” Darien’s mind raced. “I should just take your word for it?”

Aydn gazed up at him. “Ask yourself this: why else would my sister have left her estate? Her guards?”

Darien felt the world rock beneath him. “No,” he said slowly, stunned. “Yanof knew. She knows.”

“And this was her way of warning you,” Aydn said, stroking Darien’s calves. “Her way of giving us both a chance at another life.” He kissed a kneecap. “It’ll be all right, Darien. Just say you’ll come with me. I… I need you.”

Darien swallowed hard. His head spun with unanswered questions, but the pieces were falling together. Yanof had given him a promotion after all, hadn’t she? From slave to the people to free man. More, she’d given him her own brother to take care of. She knew Darien as well as any man in the City Guard. Apparently, she trusted him as well.

He opened his mouth to say one thing and was startled to hear entirely another coming out. “You’ll show me the way?”

Aydn’s eyes turned dark with lust, hope, and something deeper and darker. “Every step of it,” he said in a voice like smoke. “Starting with this. You won’t regret me, Darien. I swear it.”

He lapped at Darien’s cock, then took it into his mouth. Sucking hard, he let go with a pop. “One last joy before we go to live as free men. More than guards and captives. Masters and pets. Although I think I’ll still call you that.” His smile was wicked. “Your word is solid?” He stroked Darien’s length. “Solid as this?” When Darien nodded, he let out a long, satisfied sigh of relief.

His tongue lapped at a bubble of pre-come. “Then,” he said, “let me drink to our lives as free men.”

  And so he did.
