I Am Drums Page 16

by Mike Grosso

I sound a gong for my fellow writers in the Fall Fifteeners, Fearless Fifteeners, and Sweet Sixteens debut author groups. Their support and friendship is more important than they will ever know, and a testament to the world of children’s literature.

Since I always keep a guitar in my classroom, a strum goes out to all my students—past, present, and future—for the learning, music, and silliness we share during school hours. And to any kid picking up an instrument for the first time and wondering if you’ll ever be any good—keep at it, and you will be!

I play my entire set, from one side of the universe to the other, for my wife, Anna, and my son, Dylan, because they make my life rock that much harder. There is no music without them.
