The Shifter's Fight Page 15

by R. A. Boyd

She moved her hand up his thigh and was able to grip the head of his cock. It was weird at this angle, but she was no quitter. “You already make me happy, Aiden.”

Paige was happy to be alive and experiencing a moment like this with her mate. Tomorrows were not promised and she was dedicated to enjoying every day she got to spend on this earth. The years that Samiyah has stolen were gone. She wouldn’t dwell on it. It was something she had to remind herself of often.

Water sloshed and hit the floor as Aiden leaned to the side of the tub and grabbed something. When he settled he held a little, velvet, black box in front of her.

“Aiden,” she gasped. She turned around to face him and caused even more water to pour down on the floor.

He opened the box and inside was a white-gold band with diamonds lining the entire thing. It twinkled in the light of the room. Tears burned the back of her eyes but she fought them off. No tears right now.

“Paige. I’ve loved you since before I even knew who you were. To make myself feel better, I tried to pretend that you would never come. But here you are, and you picked me.” He took the band from the box and held her left hand. “Paige Harrison. Will you do me the honor of being my wife?

Her tears finally spilled over as he slid the ring on her finger. She threw her arms around him and squealed a high pitched sound of joy that hurt her own ears. “Yes, Aiden. Of course I will.”

Aiden had given her everything she thought she had missed out on. Hard times were coming, but not only did she have a strong mate who would do anything to keep her safe, but she now had a fierce clan that would keep the fear of what was coming at bay.

The Ghost shifters were her family. Aiden Samuels, her mate and soon to be husband, was her rock. Paige didn’t have to fight alone. She would fight for her people, fight with them. Any foe who tried to bring harm to her clan would fall and die.

The best of her life was in front of her. She was safe and alive, and no one would control what her life would become. The fallen angel-shifter clan had no desire to take over the paranormal community like she had been raised to believe, but if anyone tried to bring ruin to them the Ghost shifters would show the world just what they could do.

Paige’s heart beamed at the mere thought of the power of her clan, and no matter what was coming for them, she was happy.
