“Sorry, I’ll have to explain this in more detail at a later time. I am receiving a message that someone is in trouble,” Darominius explained as he got up.
“But I have so many other questions.”
Darominius said, “Just as I saved you two outside the Rose Ridge Club, another couple requires assistance. Until another time, my lady and good sir.”
He bowed and walked into the back yard. Whitney still didn’t get the water reference completely as she watched him transpose into a dragon.
Trent watched Darominius take off and turned to Whitney. “I got a whole new understanding of that guy now. Well, Mrs. Merrick, looks like another in the books for the good guys and gals.”
“With all this taken care of, we can finally set a date for the honeymoon. I say tomorrow.”
Trent laughed. “I would love to second that, I really would, but we have to stay for Frank Mooney’s trial. We’ll probably be called to testify for his obstruction of justice charges. I think we both know he’s going to clog up the courts for as long as possible.”
“You’re right. I don’t want to wait around here for all that, but we don’t really have a choice. How long is this going to take?”

Four Months Later…
Whitney and Trent sat in the back row of the Federal Court Room and awaited the sentencing of the Vice President of Adoxia. He had been found guilty of over twenty charges and was looking at a hefty sentence. Raymund Ellerbee, the former Chief of the Bureau had just received 25 years in jail, so Whitney assumed that Frank Mooney would get much more than that.
The former Vice President came into the room with a smug look on his face. Whitney thought that he still didn’t understand the gravity of his actions. He sat down next to his lawyer and waited with the rest of the court room.
The Judge was announced and she sat down and grabbed the gavel. Whitney faded out and started thinking about her awaiting honeymoon retreat. She couldn’t wait to get some sand in between her toes and sip on a frosty cocktail. Then she thought about how much her life had changed in the past few years.
She had gone from thinking she was going to die alone to being married to one of the greatest men in the world. The help from the spirit world had given her the confidence that she could accomplish anything. Whitney had taken down the main gangster in Pennsburgh and foiled the biggest abuse of government power in the history of her country.
Her heart swelled with pride and she loved that she had been able to enjoy the ride with her one and only. She looked over at Trent and realized she had fallen into the perfect life. She listened to the judge again.
The Honorable Clarette Beadling announced, “Not only have you participated in the most heinous of acts this country has ever seen, but you masterminded the entire escapade. Even after the initial crimes, you used your power to obstruct justice and keep these crimes hidden. You even stooped as low as to blackmail our President so that you could make arms deals with terrorist nations. Needless to say these types of actions are unprecedented.”
Whitney looked at the side of the Vice President’s red face. She wondered if he had started to understand that this wasn’t a joke yet.
The Judge continued, “When faced with unprecedented crimes, we must search deep into our understanding of the law to come to a conclusion for a penalty. I believe you know by now that your accomplices received some very stiff sentences. Unfortunately for you, your actions were far worse than those of your associates. You still face the charge of treason in the concurrent government case, which, if you are found guilty of, will carry a possible death sentence. It is my judgment that the defendant be sentenced to no less than 50 years in jail without the possibility of parole.”
The Vice President’s head sank and he let out a groan. Whitney had almost forgotten about the treason charge that seemed to be the real problem for Frank Mooney.
The Judge slammed down the gavel for the final time and the bailiffs led the former Vice President of Adoxia out of the room.
Trent turned to her. “There it is. I’d say it was worth the wait. The government case is going to take much longer and we need to get to the airport. Turtle Island is calling our names right now.”
The happy couple walked through the sea of people to get to their car.
“I can hear it. This worked out perfectly. All the really bad guys got heavy sentences they didn’t seem to think were headed their way and Alan Gergen got pardoned.”
Trent nodded. “I agree. That added a nice touch to everything. It was amazing to see him as a witness compared to the rest of that lying bunch. He still did some rotten stuff, but he owned up to it and was willing to take responsibility for his actions. It was almost like the other guys didn’t understand how dirty their actions were.”
They got in the car and speeded toward the airport.
“We should have had Darominius take us to the Turtle Island. We could have avoided the traffic and the wait for the plane.”
Trent said, “I wonder what’s going to come next? We’ve already solved some landmark cases in Adoxia history, and that was just our first two. I guess we might be good at this.”
“Darominius said we might travel to different planets and go back in time again. I can’t wait to see what comes next.”
Trent said, “Well, we’ve already kind of traveled to another planet. Remember when we went through that wormhole-type thing. That seemed like a different planet to me.”
“I guess that’s true. He didn’t seem to imply that was going to be the place. Who knows, maybe we should just concentrate on our honeymoon.”
Trent asked, “What should we do first? They got scuba diving, visiting a rain forest, cliff jumping, deep sea tours and of course, sipping drinks on the sand pebbles.”
“That last one sounds pretty luxurious right now. Honk the horn to get that guy out of the way.”
Trent smiled, “Relax, we’ll get there. And besides, that’s probably a woman driving like that.”
“Excuse me. I have a perfect driving record and most of the guys I know have been in countless accidents.”
Trent said, “That’s because you are the perfect woman, the perfect wife. The normal rules don’t apply to you.”
“You always know what to say, don’t you? Just when I am ready to be mad at you, you hit my weakness. Compliments for me.”

Whitney sat back in her lounge chair on the beach and sipped on her strawberry margarita. Her silver-framed sunglasses shielded her eyes from the intense sunlight coming from the cloudless sky. She watched Trent come out of the water and adjusted the teal strap on her top.
She focused on his chiseled abs before getting a full view of the total package. His tanned body made him even more appealing to Whitney. He sat down next to her and reached out his hand. Whitney plunged her hand into his and watched the incoming waves.
“This is perfect. I haven’t thought about any conniving criminals ever since the wheels went up on the plane. Just me and you.”
Trent said, “Yep, you’re stuck with me. So have you put any thought into having kids?”
Whitney was blindsided because Trent had never really talked to her about the subject before.
“I mean, yeah, someday I do. It’s just tough because of the kind of lifestyle we are involved in right now. Would it be fair to bring a child into our situation? We are constantly traveling around and most of the time we have to leave at the drop of a hat.”
Trent said, “I know it’s not ideal, but if we wait too long, we’re going to look like grandparents dropping our kids off at grade school. I’d hate to wait too long and have the door close on us. The spirits said that we could drop out of this at any point, remember.”
“I know, I’m torn. I really want to have kids, I just don’t want to have to go through all the stuff that it entails. You sound like my mom by the way with the clock is ticking speech so that should scare you just a little bit.”
Trent said,
I always knew your mom was a smart person. I don’t think we need to take care of this right this second, but we should be thinking about it. Imagine the perfect babies we are going to make. We should probably think about taking a break as a team at some point.”
“I can’t believe we have two weeks of this paradise to enjoy. Are we just going to go back to the Bureau? The invitation is on the table.”
Trent sipped his drink. “I enjoyed working for the Bureau, but I have given thought about what your father said a while ago.”
“And that is?”
Trent reached over and grabbed her hand. “Now this would take some funding, but I’ve been thinking about us starting our own Investigative Agency. We have the connections and know-how now. It would keep us independent of the government and all the bureaucratic BS that it entails. I think it would be great.”
“I like the idea. The only problem would be getting someone with that much money to invest in us.”
Trent said, “I know someone that would be happy to loan us the money. You might not like it, but…”
Whitney cut him off. “You want to borrow the money from my sister and Aaric?”
Trent answered, “I know you probably won’t be fired up about this. We need to make a pizza and he’s got the cheese. And we will be getting handsomely paid to perform our service so paying him back won’t be a problem. His only demand was that we set up our operation in Pennsburgh so we could stay close to the family.”
“Wait, you already talked to him about this? You didn’t think you should talk to me first.” Whitney started to fume over being left out of a huge life decision.
Trent shook his head. “It’s not like that at all. I wanted to have all our ducks in a row before I mentioned it to you. It’s kind of an empty dream without the financial backing. I could have come to you and said, hey what do you think about the idea. Then, if you said you liked it, I would have to go talk to Aaric about it anyway. So I just avoided an extra step.”
“I think you should have talked to me ahead of time. We can get a loan from somewhere else too. We both have good credit and I would hate to borrow money from family. What if something happened between him and Victoria? Would he suddenly raise interest rates if that happened?”
Trent reached over and held her hand. He lightly massaged her with his thumb and said, “I love you and we don’t have to do this if you don’t want to. The amount of money we would need, might make it hard to get from a bank or lender. Aaric has the money and is willing to invest. He does want a share of the business so he’s not just being a nice guy.”
“I knew he would try to make money off of us. Doesn’t that seem shady to you?”
Trent said, “Whit, we’re talking about a multi-million dollar loan, not just something to get a new car. Of course he’s going to make some money off the deal. He has to as a business man, but I assure you he gave us better rates that any bank ever would.”
“I can’t believe you talked in this much detail about this with my brother-in-law. Maybe if you just broached the subject and talked vaguely, but you seem to have the entire loan worked out.”
Trent squeezed her hand tightly. “Again, what good would it have been if I proposed a pipedream to you that would end up falling apart in the end? I also wanted to make sure he wasn’t going to rip us off, because I know you would be like a hawk on that. I didn’t want our dream to fizzle out because we couldn’t fund it.”
“I’m still mad, but this margarita is helping me cope with your behind-my-back shady activities. When did you even get to talk to him?”
Trent answered, “That last party at the castle when we got to talk over a couple games of pool. I wish I had bet him for the loan because he is terrible at shooting stick. The bottom line is our dream is at our fingertips if we just want to reach out and grab it.”
“Of course I want to grab it. The Powers and Merrick Company sounds pretty awesome to my ears.”
Trent looked over at Whitney and smiled. “That does sound good, but we should probably go alphabetically with the last names. It’s just a little out of whack.”
“Whatever, mister, you owe me for planning in secrecy about our dream. We have to come up with a cool name then so we won’t fight about our name order. I’m not good with names.”
Trent suggested, “What about the Golden Patriot Brigade? No, that sounds stupid. I’m sure we’ll come up with a good name. So we do agree that we want to do this? Be our own bosses.”
“I’m the real boss. You will always work for me.” Whitney laughed.
Trent said, “So you’re not mad at me anymore?”
“I’m getting there, I guess.”
“Save some of that anger and let’s go back to the hotel room and make up,” Trent proposed.
Whitney finished her drink and pulled her bikini clad body from the lounge chair. Trent stood up and held out his hand. Whitney grabbed it and they walked shoeless in the sand on the way back to the hotel.
They started making out in the elevator and when the door opened for their floor, several hotel guests were waiting outside. Whitney didn’t even care as they hustled down the hallway. Trent opened the door and entered the room. The two lovers were all over each other before the door could even close.
They worked their way over to the bed and Whitney went down to her knees. She pulled down Trent’s swimming trunks and massaged her lover’s semi-hard member with her left hand. She licked up the shaft and kissed the tip of his penis before wrapping her lips around it and slowly working her way down.
Trent let out a moan of manly pleasure and his growing manhood let Whitney know her work was being appreciated. She continued to work the shaft with her mouth and hand until her lover exploded, filling her mouth with his warm seed spilling from the corners of her lips.
Trent pulled her up from the ground. Trent untied the straps and used the chilly metal tips to trace Whitney’s collarbone down to her breast encircling her ever hardening nipple.
He laid her on her stomach over the end of the bed. Trent brushed his fingers up the back of both of her legs, leaving a trail of fire in his path. A hard smack on the left side of her ass made Whitney arch her back in excitement. She had never been hit during sex and it really turned her on.
Trent gave the same treatment to the other side and a ripple of ecstasy cascaded through her body. Her lover buried his face into her wetness and used his tongue to further excite her. Whitney felt drunk on pleasure as Trent smacked her ass two more times.
Whitney was aching for Trent to give her what she wanted and she kept pushing herself backwards in anticipation. He finally moved in and massaged the tip of his silken hardness around her opening. Whitney thought she might have an orgasm before Trent even entered her as her liquid excitement ran down the inside of her thighs.
He teased his way in until Whitney couldn’t take any more and shoved her vagina back for more. Trent started with long, slow strokes as Whitney bawled up the comforter in her two hands and dug her nails in. Trent speeded up and slowed down as Whitney quivered underneath him.
He slapped her ass again and Whitney thought she was going to pass out from the intensity of the moment. Trent reached around to stimulate her sweet spot and all the sensations brought her to the most intense climax of her life.
Trent collapsed on top of her as Whitney trembled uncontrollably. She felt like she had been sprinkled with magic dust as the two lovers moved up onto the bed. She kissed Trent and stared into his brown eyes.
“How can the sex get better almost all the time?”
Trent said, “Because it’s with the perfect woman. Gives me motivation to come up with some new stuff to try. And for the record, you haven’t stopped me from doing anything new yet.”
“Well keep it coming because that was amazing. I never would have thought I could get so much excitement from being spanked. I’m starting to think you are much more experienced than I am.”
Trent said, “Well, uh, actually, you’d be su
rprised what you find online these days.”
“I’m definitely not surprised about what you can find online. I am surprised that you tried to use that excuse.”
Whitney felt like she was in heaven as the couple took a moonlit stroll down the beach after an amazing island dinner. Her life had been a roller-coaster ride ever since she had met Trent so it was nice to have some time to enjoy and reflect. The couple finally had a chance to put all the worries aside and just get lost in each other.
Whitney still had yet to find a single flaw in her lover. The husband and wife had the typical arguments that most couples do, but they never stayed mad at each other for very long. They went back to the hotel room for an amazing night of sex, and as they lay in bed, Whitney wondered what the next case would bring.
