  “Barimere, don’t stop,” Jacie begged.

He gripped her hips and lined his cock up with her slit before easing into her. It was torture, going slow, and yet he savored every moment. Sweat beaded his brow as he held himself back. Nothing would have felt better than slamming into her and taking her hard and fast, but he didn’t dare do anything that could harm the babies or her.

Barimere started a slow, easy rhythm. His hips slapped against her ass as he moved faster, but he kept his touch light. His heart thundered in his chest as her channel clamped down on his shaft. She felt incredible, all warm and wet. Her silken walls clasped him tightly as he thrust into her welcoming body.

Jacie pressed back against him and his cock jerked in response. He wanted her to come apart beneath him and slid a hand down between her legs, seeking the little bud that would drive her wild. He stroked her clit, her juices coating his fingers. Jacie moaned beneath him and murmured his name. A tremor raked her body as he plunged into her again.

Barimere felt her body tighten in his grasp, heard her choppy breaths, and then she let out a loud keening cry as her pussy squeezed him tightly. Barimere groaned and knew he couldn’t hold back any longer. He pinched her clit, making her come again as he sought his own release. He watched his cock slide in and out of her welcoming heat, her juices coating his shaft. As he sank into her one last time, his cock swelled as his balls drew up, and then he was coming inside her.

He leaned down and kissed her shoulder as he slipped from her body. Pulling her up, he whipped her dress over her head, needing to see her body. Jacie curled an arm around his waist and snuggled into his embrace. He didn’t know how long they had stood like that, but it was the most perfect moment of his life, and he hoped there would be many more.

“I love you, Barimere,” she whispered against his chest.

His heart thumped wildly and his throat thickened with emotion. “I love you too,” he admitted. And he really did. He was fairly certain he’d loved her from the moment her weird pet had thrown panties on his face and she’d given him that endearing smile. Jacie was everything to him, and he looked forward to their years together.

  Epilogue

“I never want to have sex again!” Jacie screamed as she bared her teeth and tried to push out their fourth child. She was doing really well, but the pain must have addled her wits since she thought he could get her pregnant again. Three girls lay crying in bassinettes in the delivery room and Barimere could practically hear his mother outside the door, waiting to burst in and pick them all up.

Jacie’s grip tightened on his hand and he winced. For someone so tiny, she sure had one hell of a grip.

She let out a loud bellow as their son’s head appeared. Panting for breath, she glared at Barimere as if it were all his fault. For the first time since he’d heard the bad news, he was thankful he couldn’t have children. After watching Jacie suffer through four births, he never wanted her to go through this ever again.

“Men suck! If it weren’t for men, women wouldn’t have to go through this.” She panted some more, then bore down and their son’s shoulders came into view. Two more pushes and Lyndir let out a wail to tell everyone he’d arrived.

Barimere kissed Jacie’s sweaty brow and looked at his four children with pride. “You did great, Jacie. They’re all so beautiful.”

Three of the four babies had pale lavender skin and black hair, but Jenny was different. Her skin was still lavender, but so pale it was nearly white, just like her hair. She’d taken after her beautiful mother, even her eyes were a pale blue like Jacie’s. Her features were different from her siblings, but the moment Barimere gazed down at her sweet face, he’d fallen in love. He’d only been a father for a few minutes and already he had a favorite. Not that he’d ever tell his other children that.

Jacie sighed. “Can I sleep now? I could sleep.”

“Because of how many babies you had, I don’t recommend breastfeeding,” Vyrex said. “I’ll have some formula delivered to your home. Once you’re rested, you may go home, but only if you promise to get into bed and stay there for the next two days. Your body went through a lot delivering four babies.”

“I’ll see that she rests,” Barimere promised. “Can my parents see the babies now?”

Jacie wrinkled her nose. “Can I get cleaned up first?”

“I have to deliver the afterbirth before we do that,” Vyrex said. “Almost done, Jacie. You’ve done beautifully.”

By the time Jacie was finished and cleaned up, the babies were ready for their first feeding. Four bottles were produced and Barimere let his parents into the room. He picked up Ashley and handed her to Jacie to feed, and he picked up Jenny. His parents each grabbed a baby and soon the sounds of suckling babies filled the air.

  “Barimere?” Jacie called softly.

He walked over and leaned down so she could talk to him without raising her voice. He could see the fatigue in her eyes.

“I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you and these babies… but don’t even think of asking for sex for at least two months.”

He nearly strangled on a laugh. “Since just a moment ago you swore you never wanted sex ever again, I think I can handle waiting a couple months.”

She smiled softly and he leaned down to brush his lips against hers.

Jenny snuggled closer to him and he watched his daughter lovingly. Nothing would ever surpass this moment. He had his mate and his children, and his life was pretty damn perfect. He had no doubt they would have their hands full in the upcoming years, but he looked forward to every scrape, every fight, and every kiss. He frowned at his daughter. As long as the kisses were between his daughters and him, and not his daughters and other males. A growl vibrated his throat as he thought of some cocky male trying to claim any of his girls as a mate. He knew the time would eventually come, but he’d be damned if he’d make it easy on the little bastards.

Barimere smiled. He’d thought his days as a warrior were over, but with three little girls in the house, he was discovering that they were just beginning.

  Jessica Coulter Smith

Award-winning author Jessica Coulter Smith has been in love with the written word since she was a child writing her first stories in crayon. Today she’s a multi-published author of over seventy-five novellas and novels. Romance is an integral part of her world and spills over from her professional life into her personal one. When she went on that first date with her husband, she never expected to hear the words “Marry me” pop out of his mouth -- and judging by the shocked look on his face, he hadn’t meant to say them either. But, being the hopeless romantic that she is, Jessica said yes and they’ve been married since 2000.

Jessica firmly believes that love will find you at the right time, even if Mr. Right is literally out of this world. She’s often gazed at the stars and wondered what, or who, else might be out there. Who’s to say that hunky model on the hottest romance bestseller isn’t really from some far off galaxy? Maybe that blue Martian you saw at Halloween wasn’t really in costume. After all, there’s an awful lot of space out there for us to be the only ones living in it.
