“I didn’t want our relationship to come between you and Cashmere but I think you should tell her before she finds out from someone else. It’s bad enough that we kept the fact that I’m y’all sister this long.”
“Baylynn, if I tell her that I knew you were our sister for the three months and that I had her daughter around you and Brandi without her permission, she’s going to kill my ass. I can’t say that I didn’t know the history between y’all because she told me about y’all drama a long time ago. How is she going to feel when I tell her that I’ve been lying to her for three months?”
“You have to tell her before the dinner though. Do you think she’s going to come?”
“I don’t know. Dad said she hasn’t been answering any of his phone calls.” Tamia sighed. “This is so messed up.”
Cashmere ended the call before dropping her phone on the bed. She jumped off the bed and began pacing the floor as she replayed the conversation she just heard in her head. Thinking back to when Tamia distant behavior took place was when she returned Cassi home after they went to mall a few months back. Tamia didn’t look Cashmere in her eyes at all that day and she hasn’t been able to look her sister in the eye since then and now she knew the reason why.
Cashmere was ready to do damage to Tamia because she felt her sister had played her. After they met, Cashmere never thought that Tamia had a motive to why she wanted to reunite with her. She thought that her sister was sincere when she told her that she just wanted a chance to get to know her sisters but now she felt like that was some bullshit. For her to know that Baylynn, her enemy, was their sister for three months and she didn’t say a word had Cashmere feeling some type of way and the fact that Tamia had her daughter around the woman she couldn’t stand pissed her off even more.
“Baby? Why are you pacin’? Wassup?”
“Ramsey. You are not going to believe this shit!”

Baylynn’s body was at work but her mind was focused on Tamia and the position that she had put her in. After their first meeting, Baylynn was happy that she had a friend that just so happen to be her sister. She had learned a lot about Tamia over the past few months and she had gotten comfortable with having Tamia in her life and she was happy that Brandi was able to see Cassi every other week. Putting her happiness to side for a moment, Baylynn took a moment to see where Tamia was coming from and she couldn’t deny that she felt some type of way about the situation. If Tamia had reached out to her first and kept the fact that she was hanging out with Cashmere and had Brandi around the woman she couldn’t stand, she would be livid. Knowing she shouldn’t care about Cashmere’s feelings, Baylynn knew for a fact that she was going to snap when the truth was finally revealed.
Baylynn was the first one out the door when five o’clock rolled around. Normally, she would enjoy being at work but with her mind on everything except work, she just wanted to leave. Taking the elevator to the underground garage where her car was parked, she clicked the alarm to her car before getting in. Baylynn started the car and a text message came through on her phone from her mom.
Fateema: I picked Brandi up from Daycare while I was out. We need more seasoning salt and somethin’ to drink. We’re runnin’ low on soda
Baylynn: Okay. I’ll pick some up.
Driving out of the garage, she drove in the direction of the Target that was a few blocks away from her job. Quickly finding a spot to park in, she hopped out, locked the doors and grabbed a cart before going inside. Baylnn tried not to get distracted by the cute baby clothes they had but she couldn’t control herself. She filled her cart with plenty of toddler wear for Brandi before she grabbed what she came there for. After paying for her purchases, Baylynn was checking to make sure she had everything when she bumped into another cart. She parted her lips to apologize but was caught off guard when she noticed who she bumped into.
“Well, long time no see, Baylynn.”
“Same here, Nysir. I didn’t think I would see you again.”
“Yeah. Me neither.” He chuckled. “What you are doing in Delaware?”
“I live out here now. What’s your excuse for bein’ out here?”
“If you must know, I live out here as well.”
“I never knew that.”
“How could you? I never mentioned it because we didn’t have that type of relationship even though I wanted to.”
“Right.” She agreed remembering that their relationship was just sexual and nothing more. “I heard what happened between you and Amelia. She told me that y’all fucked a few times.”
“Yeah. That’s not something that I’m proud of but it happened. I lost one of my best friends behind that shit. I think Benjamin really liked her.”
“That’s fucked up.”
“Tell me about it. I haven’t seen or heard from him since I told him about it and that was months ago but it is what it is.”
“Well don’t sweat nothin’ you can’t change. It was nice talkin’ to you but I gotta go. Maybe we can have dinner together sometime.”
“I wish I could but I’m involved with someone and she’s special to me. I don’t think she would like it if I had dinner with someone I used to fuck.”
“Say no more.” She chuckled. “Take care of yourself.”
“You too.” He smiled.
Baylynn walked out of Target and over to her car unlocking the door. When all the bags were loaded into the car, she hopped behind the wheel making it home a half hour later. Walking in the house with a handful of bags, Baylynn sat next to her mother on the couch who was tuned into the news with Brandi playing right next to her. She wasn’t paying attention to the TV until Amelia’s name was mentioned. When the news anchor stated that Amelia McDaniel’s was killed last week in her condo in cold blood with two bullet wounds in her chest in one in her head, Baylynn covered her mouth with her hand. The news anchor announced that Virginia Police Department didn’t have any leads yet and that there was an award for the person who had information that would lead to arrest.
Learning that Amelia was dead hurt Baylynn to her soul. Even though they weren’t friends anymore and they said some hurtful things to each other, she never wanted any harm to come to Amelia. She low key still had love for her and now that she was gone, she wouldn’t have the chance to tell her or make amends. Fateema consoled her daughter and Baylynn silently cried in her mother’s embrace. Breaking their embrace, Baylynn went upstairs to her room where she cried some more.
The news about Amelia along with the Tamia situation made her day that much worse. All she wanted to do was crawl under the sheets and sleep the rest of the day away but before she had a chance to hit the bed, she heard the doorbell rang. Changing out her work clothes into a pair of yoga pants and a tank top. Seconds later, Fateema called up the stairs informing her that she had company. Curious as to who was there to see her, Baylynn made her was down the steps and saw Manny standing by the front door. Rushing over to him, she jumped into his arms hugging him tightly.
Two months ago, Manny decided that he wanted to work things out with Baylynn and he agreed to them being a couple which made her very happy. When he informed her that he would be getting released from prison, Baylynn knew that Tamia had kept her word and talked to their Dad like she promised to do. Things were going good between them until two weeks had passed without a word from Manny. Baylynn figured that Manny had changed his mind about being with her and did what most niggas do when they’re released from jail, which was ditch the bitch that had held them down while they were locked down. Seeing her man standing in her house was confirmation that Manny hadn’t forgot about her.
“Oh, my goodness! I can’t believe you’re here! Why you didn’t tell me that you were comin’ home?” she asked before being placed on her feet.
“I wanted to surprise you. I thought I would catch you in the act of doin’ somethin’ foul but I’m the one that’s surprised. I just knew there was goin’ to be a nigga in here.” He joked.
“Sh
ut the hell up with that bullshit.” She punched him in the chest.
“You know I’m just fuckin’ with you, bae.”
“Uhh Hmmm.” Fateema cleared her throat. “Bay, are you gonna introduce me to your friend or naw?”
“I’m sorry, ma. This is my baby, Manny, Brandi’s father. Manny, this is my mother, Fateema.” She smiled.
“Well aren’t you handsome thing.” Her mother extended her hand.
“Thank you and it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“Same here. I’ll leave you two alone now.” She winked at Baylynn before walking into the kitchen.
“Now I see where you get all that ass from.”
“Don’t make me fuck you up in here, Manny.” Her tone turned serious.
“You know I’m just fuckin’ with you. Ease up.” He sat down on the couch placing Brandi on his lap. “There’s a girl sittin’ in a car in front of ya house. Do you know her? She kinda looks like Cashmere.”
Walking over to the window beside the door, she looked through the blinds and saw Tamia sitting in her car on the phone. She watched her for a few seconds and when she ended the call, she watched Tamia as she cried uncontrollably in her car. She was about to go outside and invite her in until she shifted the car in drive and pulled off. Baylynn was confused as to why her sister would just sit in her car and not let her know she was there. Tamia had been to her house a couple of time and Baylynn always reminded her that she was more than welcomed so the fact that she stayed in her car had her stuck.
“Well, do you know that girl?” He inquired again.
“Yeah. That was my sister, Tamia.” She sat next to him.
“Your sister? You never told me you had a sister.”
“I have two. Cashmere is my sister too.”
“Whoa!”
“I know it’s crazy but it’s true. I’ll explain it to you later.”
“That’s cool with me.”
Baylynn excused herself before jogging up the stairs to use her phone. She called her sister three times and the phone rung all the way through letting the voicemail come on. She couldn’t shake the feeling that Tamia was avoiding her and she wanted to know why. After moments of thinking, she knew the only person that could’ve been responsible for Tamia avoiding her was that bitch Cashmere. She figured that Tamia was stressed out because Cashmere was mad at her for having a relationship with her behind Cashmere’s back, which had Tamia upset and avoiding her. Baylynn wasn’t about to let her spoiled ass ruin another relationship for her. She was going to handle her ass once and for all.

Between getting the youth center ready for its grand opening, helping Cashmere cope with the betrayal of Tamia and the bomb Randall dropped on him a few days ago, Ramsey was trying his best to keep it together. When he was around his fiancée, he played like everything was cool but when he was alone, he was constantly thinking of a way to get out of the mess that he had gotten himself into. Weed and alcohol momentarily relieved him of his stress but when he became sober again, he was more stressed out than ever.
Since he and Randall discussed the plans for their youth center, Ramsey was going above and beyond to prove that he was ready for marriage. He made sure he came home at a decent hour, called when he was going to be late and kept the drama to a minimum. Bitches were still on that thirsty shit and was always working overtime to get his attention but his swerve game was on a hundred. Telling bitches to fuck off had gotten easier to do since he had the woman he wanted. He wasn’t about to fuck up his happy home for a quick fuck but if he didn’t figure out how to solve his problem, his happy home would be destroyed.
The night of Cashmere’s wedding planning meeting, Randall told him that he had something important to discuss with him and for him to meet him at the shop. The shop was closed when he arrived. By the look on Randall’s face, Ramsey knew what he had to tell him wasn’t good. Isaiah, the correctional office from the prison, was there as well. Randall broke down how some chick came into the shop accusing him of getting her pregnant. Isaiah told him that he saw Phoenix, the chick he smashed his last night in prison, walking out of the shop when he pulled up and how she was indeed pregnant. After Ramsey confessed to fucking her his last in the prison, Randall told him that he had to make things right with him and Tiffany, which he agreed to do.
Ramsey woke up early Saturday to make breakfast for Cashmere and his baby girl. Cashmere decided to go on bed rest a little early due to her shortness of breath every time she walked and her fatigue state. He noticed the condition she was in and even though he enjoyed every stage of the pregnancy, Ramsey hoped this his baby would enter the world so that Cashmere could go back to her regular self. When he was finished preparing breakfast, he placed the plates of food on the tray and carried them to the room where he saw Cashmere waddling out of the bathroom. She smiled when she saw that he had prepared breakfast her and climbed back in bed.
“Awww baby. You didn’t have to cook.”
“Yes, I did. You need to be restin’. You know I don’t mind takin’ care of you. If it were a problem, I wouldn’t have agreed to you goin’ on bedrest.” He placed the tray of food in front of her.
“I love how you spoil me, Daddy.” She leaned over and pecked his lips. “Thank you.”
“You know I got you, bae.” He smirked. “So, have you heard anythin’ from Tamia?”
“No. I’ve been calling her since she accidently called me to discuss this whole Baylynn thing but her phone goes to voicemail. Like it’s off or something.” Cashmere took a bite of her food.
“That’s weird as fuck. How the hell she go from chillin’ with you all the damn time to not chillin’ with you at all? She didn’t tell you that Baylynn was related to y’all knowin’ the history y’all have and instead of her tryin’ to defend herself or make shit right, she turns her phone off? Somethin’ ain’t right.” He shook his head.
“I guess she decided that her relationship with Baylynn is more important than ours.” Cashmere shrugged as she continued to eat. “I’ll get to the bottom of it on Monday. Dad invited me to dinner at his house for a peace offering. He wants to squash all the past feuds with the women in his life. My mother said she will be there as well as Baylynn and her mom, my dad’s wife and Tamia. I got a feeling this shit ain’t going to end well.”
“Just try to keep an open mind, baby. I don’t like the fuck shit ya sister did but I think you should try to hear her out and possibly move forward.”
“I’m going to try. What you got planned for the day?”
“I’m goin’ over Randall’s to chill. Every time we link up, it’s always about business. So today, we’re just gonna chill.”
“That’s what’s up but instead of you leaving, how about you just invite them over here? I might need you for something and I don’t want you to be too far away.”
“That’s cool. I’ll text him now.”
Ramsey walked around to his side of the bed snatching his phone off the nightstand. He shot his twin a text telling him to meet him at his crib and Randall responded telling him that he would be there by noon. After finishing the leftover food, they got washed and dressed for the day. Cashmere had drifted off to sleep while Ramsey and Cassi went played downstairs as they waited for Randall and Tiffany to arrive. He wanted to talk to them at his house so he wouldn’t risk the chance of Cashmere hearing him but since she suggested that they came to visit them, he knew that he had to be discreet about the secret he was keeping.
Arriving at twelve on the nose, Ramsey answered the door for the couple. Randall greeted his brother with a handshake and Tiffany with a hug. He could sense that something was off with the two of them and he figured it had something to do with Phoenix accusing Randall of getting her pregnant. He low key wanted his brother to step up and take the rap for him but he didn’t want to fuck up his brother’s happiness just so he could be happy.
“Where’s Cash?” Tiff declared with an attitude.
“She’s upstairs sleepin’
but before you go and wake her up, there is somethin’ I need to tell you, Tiff.” Ramsey closed the front door and locked it.
Pointing in the direction of the living room, they followed Ramsey taking a seat on the couch and the reclining chair when they entered. Cassi walked over to Randall and he picked her up placing her on his lap. Ramsey took a deep breath before he began talking.
“Tiff, Randall told me what went down at the shop the other day and I want you to know that my brother wouldn’t play you like that.”
“Is that why you called us over here? So, you could defend your cheating ass brother? Well you can keep that shit, Ramsey.”
“My brother doesn’t need to be defended because he didn’t do shit wrong. I was the one the fucked up…again.”
“Explain.” She folded her arms across her chest.
“The chick that accused Randall of getting’ her pregnant is a chick I fucked while I was in prison. She accused my brother because she thought he was me.”
“So, what you’re telling me is that you fucked another bitch and got her pregnant?”
“I did fuck her but I don’t know if the baby is mine,” he admitted. “I haven’t spoken to her since my last night in jail, which was when I fucked her.” He mumbled.
“I can’t believe this shit! Here I am giving your brother hell thinking that he cheated on me when it was a case of mistaken identity. I was thinking that you changed your ways and I was telling Randall how he needed to be more like you and you’re still the same sorry ass nigga you’ve always been, Ramsey,” she shouted.
“Keep ya voice down, Tiffany.”
“Fuck you, Ramsey! That woman up there has put up with your bullshit for years. When you went to jail, she made sure she wrote your ass and came to visit you every damn Sunday. I watched her stress over you while you were in prison because she was worried about your well-being. That girl loves you and you just keep giving her your ass to kiss. You need to be thankful that you even have woman like Cashmere and if you think that I’m going to keep your secret like I did when we were in Aruba and risk losing my friend, you got another fucking thing coming.”
