Tamia nodded.
“Tamia got her own room here?” Cash pouted.
“Pull that lip in, little girl. Everyone has their own room. With that being said, I’m expecting y’all to come and spend the night a couple times out the month. Do you hear me?” Cassandra pointed at them.
“Yes, ma’am,” they replied in unison.
“Now go upstairs and see your rooms. We’ll keep an eye on the girls.” Charles waved them off.
Without hesitation, they took off to the stairs and climbed the steps two at a time. Cashmere found her room first and one room over was Tamia’s room. She ran her hand over the gold plate that had her name on it before entering. She smiled as she noticed the bulletin board that was filled with her writing awards and winning articles from college. Tamia walked over to her old computer desk and took a seat in the chair. She reminisced about the all-night study sessions and the endless amount of papers and articles she wrote at the same desk throughout the years. She glanced over at the king size bed where her favorite teddy bear and throw pillow were placed. Tamia left the desk and climbed onto the bed, grabbing the throw pillow her mother had made for her when she was a kid. She hugged the pillow tightly and she was surprised that the pillow still smelled like her mother’s perfume.
Tamia grabbed the pile of mail that was in the middle of her bed and she froze in place when she saw that she had a letter from her mother, Olivia. She stared at the letter for a few moments as she debated on if she should open it or not. Tamia wanted to rip the letter open to see what it said, but she wasn’t sure if she wanted to read what her mother had to say. A part of her still wanted to know why her mother had taken the rap for her and she was hoping the answer to her question was in the letter, so she opened it and prepared herself for what she was about to read.
My Precious Tamia, I know you weren’t expecting to hear from me after what happened between us, but there are a couple of things I have to get off my chest. I first want to apologize for my actions against your sisters and blaming you for finding them. I hid my hurt from your father’s infidelity for so long, that when you reunited with your sisters, I didn’t know how to handle it. I just wanted things to go back to the way they were when it was just me, you and your dad, but once y’all started getting close and Cassandra reentered the picture, I knew things would never be the same again. You had every right to find your sisters and I hope y’all are getting along. I also wanted to apologize for Simon trying to kill you. I didn’t make that call. I didn’t even know he put a hit out on you. When I found out what he did, I wanted to kill his ass and that was the plan, but when you came to see me at the hotel, things went a little differently. I apologize for pulling a gun on you, Tamia, and for all the hurtful things I said to you. I didn’t mean any of it. You are my child and I love you with all my heart. You did a brave thing in that hotel room and I admire you for it. You did something I didn’t have the courage to and that’s why I’m sitting in this cell now. You did what you did to protect yourself and your sisters, but you freed me from my mistakes in the process. Me being here is payment for the harm I caused you and your family and I don’t mind serving this time for my child. I love you, Tamia, and I pray you can forgive me one day.
Sincerely,
Your Mother
Tamia couldn’t help the tears that fell from her eyes as she read her mother’s words repeatedly. She knew deep in her heart that her mother still loved her and the letter confirmed her feelings. She wasn’t expecting her mother to apologize or say she admired her for killing Simon. Tamia was pleased with her mother’s letter and even though Olivia could’ve gone about things a different way, she was happy to know that her mother still loved her. As she wiped her tears from her eyes, Cashmere knocked on the open door and stood in the doorway.
“Hey, sis. Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m okay. I’ll come find you in a minute.”
“Okay.”
When Cash left, Tamia held the throw pillow close to her chest as she got comfortable in her bed. She thought about all the good times she and Olivia had together. Being as though her mother was stubborn, she knew it took a lot for Olivia to write that letter and she appreciated her mother for taking the time to do it. Tamia made a mental note to write her mother back before she peacefully drifted off to sleep.

Two Weeks Later…
The grand opening of the youth center was a great success. No one expected a big turnout for the event, but that was what they got. It seemed like everyone in the neighborhood came to the center to see what all the talk was about. The DJ had the event lit with the latest tunes and the entertainment as well as the activities they had prepared for the little ones kept their interest while the twins gave the parents a tour of the facility and explained what the youth center had to offer. While the twins were giving the tour, Cashmere and Tiffany conducted interviews for the job seekers. Most of the people who had come for the interviews were beyond suitable for the jobs they applied for while others were just there to waste time. By the time the event was over, they had more than fifty memberships for all age groups and twice as many job applications. They were excited that so many people wanted to be a part of their center and they got started immediately with the hiring process.
The following week, Ramsey and Randall typed up the letters to send home to the parents, informing them of the start date for camp along with what the child needed to bring with them while Cash and Tiffany finished up the hiring process for those who provided updated clearances and those who had successfully passed the background check. As the week went on, Ramsey remembered that Cashmere’s birthday was a week away and he didn’t have anything planned for her special day. He made a quick phone call to Cassandra and Charles and they told him that they would take care of everything. When they reached the end of the week, everything was set for the first day of camp, which was two days after Cashmere’s birthday.
Ramsey flopped down in the chair behind his desk and double checked to make sure everything was in order. Randall and Tiffany had left for the day and he was waiting for Cashmere to finish up preparing name tags for the children and getting the cubbies set up for the younger children. Ramsey thought about how hard Cash had gone to get things moving for the company and how she had picked up his slack on the days he decided to check out early. He smiled as he thought about how bad his wife was and how she stood by him with everything he did. Ramsey was beyond grateful to have a woman like Cashmere and he wanted to give her something special for her birthday, but he didn’t know what.
“Hey, baby. You ready to go?” Cashmere peeked her head into the office.
“Yeah, bae. Let me shut down everythin’.”
“Cool. I’ll be waiting for you in the car.”
Ramsey turned off all the lights in the center before locking the doors behind him. Jogging down the stairs, he hopped in the passenger seat of Cashmere’s SUV and she pulled off. Ramsey nodded to the music as they headed towards the highway. The girls were staying with Renee for the weekend, which gave them some alone time. Her birthday was in a few days and he had no idea what her parents had planned for her, so he had to keep her busy until then.
“Why are you so quiet, bae?” Cashmere asked in a soft voice.
“I was thinkin’ about what we should do this weekend since we don’t have the kids.”
“I just want to relax. My birthday is in a few days and I’m so tired, I’m not even in the mood to celebrate,” she yawned. “As soon as we get home, I’m going to take a shower and take my ass to bed.”
“You have been goin’ hard for the past two weeks. Between putting in long hours at the center and gettin’ the girls ready for bed when we get home, I can understand why you’re tired, so if you want to relax, that’s what we’re gonna do.” He grabbed her hand and kissed it.
“Thank you, bae.” She gave him a small smile.
For the rest of the drive, Ramsey watched Cashmere as she yawned all the way home. Out of
all the years he had known her, Rams had never seen his wife that tired before. He started to feel bad because he felt as though she was overworked. The way Ramsey saw it, his wife had two full time jobs: being a mother and working by his side at the center. Plus, she still had the bookstore to run. Ramsey wanted to tell his wife to step down, but he had a feeling she was going to tell him no.
After parking the car in the garage, Ramsey hopped out the car and rushed to the other side to help Cashmere. They entered the house through the garage, and when they reached the stairs, he carried his wife upstairs to their room where Cash went into the bathroom and Ramsey stripped down to his boxers and wife beater before he got comfortable. As she showered, he grabbed his laptop and searched for a resort to stay at for a few days. Cash’s birthday was on a Tuesday, so that gave them from Saturday to the morning of her birthday to be alone. Ramsey thought for a moment where he wanted to go and he decided on a place that neither of them had been before, which was Dubai. Once he booked a villa that was suitable for them, Ramsey called his pilot and told him to gas up the private jet. He gave the pilot his destination and was told to be at the hangar by 7:30 the next morning. After thanking him, Ramsey shut down the laptop and placed it back on the nightstand shelf right before Cashmere walked out of the bathroom.
He watched his wife as she put on one of his tee shirts to sleep in. Ramsey thought back to what happened a year ago when they went away to Aruba for Cash’s birthday. He was a man who was living a double life and had two kids at the time. Cashmere was his side chick and he wanted to do whatever he had to to keep her in his life, all while he had a live-in girlfriend who was the mule in his drug operation. He chuckled to himself as he thought about how he had his family mixed up in his nonsense and how he asked them to cover for him when Baylynn popped up in Aruba. He regretted leaving with Baylynn, but he was glad he did because that was when he learned the truth about his girlfriend of five years and the baby he thought was his. Ramsey couldn’t believe it had been a year since that bullshit had happened, but he was thankful that everything had worked out fine in the end.
Ramsey’s thoughts were interrupted by Cashmere climbing in the bed next to him. Resting her head on his chest, he placed his arm around her and placed his other hand behind his head. A few minutes later, his wife was sound asleep and Ramsey eased out of bed so he could pack their bags for the trip. It took him no time to pack all the things he needed for the trip, but he had a hell of a time picking out Cashmere’s clothes for the trip. He ended up packing her six outfits, four pairs of sandals, three swimsuits and a bunch of bra and panties sets, along with her flatirons, brush and jewelry. After zipping up the last bag, he carried them downstairs and set them by the door. Returning to his room, he slid back into bed like he’d never left, grabbed his cell phone and sent a text to his family that he and Cash would be unreachable until Tuesday morning. He didn’t give them the destination, he just told them they were taking a mini vacation. Ramsey set his alarm for 6:00 a.m. before placing his phone on the nightstand and dozing off to sleep.
The blaring alarm caused Ramsey to jump up out of his sleep. Snatching the phone off the nightstand, he silenced the alarm, tossed the covers off him and dragged himself to the bathroom to get washed up. He was hype about the trip they were taking and couldn’t wait to get to Dubai. When he was finished in the bathroom, Ramsey walked into the bedroom and got dressed for the day. As he brushed his hair in the floor-length mirror, he noticed Cash was starting to wake up. Turning around to face her, when her eyes fell on him, she smiled.
“Well, don’t you look sexy in your linen short set.” She licked her lips seductively. “And where are you going?” she questioned, climbing out of bed.
“We’re goin’ on a trip, shorty. Don’t ask any questions, just get ready,” Ramsey stated firmly.
“A trip? To where?” Cash asked with a raised eyebrow.
Ramsey strolled over to where she was standing, picked her up and slammed her on the bed. He inserted two fingers inside her pussy and finger fucked her. Her moans were like music to his ears. Ramsey bit his lip as he watched her sex faces and his dick got harder than a rock. Even though he wanted to do more, he couldn’t because they had to leave soon to make the jet.
“Didn’t I tell ya ass not to ask me no questions?” he spoke roughly in her ear.
“Mmm-hmm!” she moaned loudly.
“Next time I tell ya ass to do somethin’, you better do it. You hear me?”
“Yeesss, Daddy! I hear you!”
Seconds later, her juices poured out of her like an overflowing river, soaking up the sheets. Licking his fingers clean, he watched her as she tried to catch her breath.
“Now, get ready and meet me in the car in ten minutes.”
Without hesitation, Cashmere slid off the bed and headed to the bathroom. Ramsey smiled cockily as he grabbed his wallet, keys, phone and money clip before leaving the room. Making his way down the stairs, he picked the bags up that were by the door and carried them outside to his car. After tossing the luggage in his trunk, Ramsey jumped behind the wheel and started the car. He checked the time on his phone to see how many minutes Cash had left, and before he could make a fuss, Ramsey noticed the lights shutting off in the house. Cashmere jogged out the house and hopped in the passenger seat, placing her backpack on her lap.
“You good, bae?”
“Mmm-hmm,” she replied with her lips pressed together.
“Let me guess, you texted your sisters to see if they knew where I was takin’ you and they didn’t tell you,” he smirked.
“Shut up and drive.” Cashmere rolled her eyes at him, folding her arms across her chest.
Ramsey couldn’t help but shake his head at his wife’s antics as he put the car in drive and drove off. The roads were clear as he zipped down the highway to the airport. He kept stealing glances at his wife and smiled at how sexy she looked when she pouted. Even though they had been married for a few months, he still couldn’t believe how one woman could make him fall in love the way she did. From the moment he laid eyes on her when she was in college, Ramsey knew Cashmere was special. He just didn’t know how much until he really got to know her, and when she walked out of his life.
Ramsey drove onto the airport hangar minutes later and parked a few feet away from the jet. Randall and the pilot were posted up by the jet, waiting for them to get there. The couple got out the car and Cashmere marched towards the jet and didn’t bother speaking to either of them as she made her way on the jet. Ramsey got the bags out the trunk and tossed his car keys to his brother before thanking him for his help. Randall told his brother to have fun before they parted ways. Ramsey stepped on the jet and stored their luggage in one of the overhead compartments before he searched for his wife. He found Cash in the bedroom where she was watching New Jack City. Ramsey sat down next to her and her pouted lips turned into a smile. Cashmere kissed his lips passionately and they got lost in each other for a moment.
“What was that for?” he asked, breaking their kiss.
“Just because,” she beamed.
“Somebody told you where we’re goin’, didn’t they?” He balled his face up.
“No, Ramsey,” she laughed.
“Gimme ya phone.” Ramsey held his hand out.
Not putting up a fight, Cashmere handed her phone over and watched him scroll through her messages. He checked the group text that she had with her sisters and the group text that she had with Ryan and Tiffany and neither of them had revealed the location of their trip. Ramsey even checked the texts from Cassandra and she hadn’t spilled the beans, either. Handing her phone back, Cashmere took the phone from him and sat it next to her.
“I told you no one told me anything, Rams,” Cash chuckled.
“So, why are you bein’ so nice to me all of sudden?” he quizzed.
“Yes, I was upset that nobody told me where we were going, but I couldn’t stay mad at you because you were thoughtful enough to even plan a trip for us, to begin
with. It doesn’t matter where we’re going. As long as I’m with you, I’m good.” She looped her arm in his, resting her chin on his shoulder.
Ramsey gazed into her eyes and he was so lost, he didn’t even feel the jet take off. He knew Cashmere’s attitude was going to fade as soon as they got to Dubai, but for her to change her attitude on her own and just be grateful for the trip showed him how much his wife appreciated him, which made Ramsey feel good. Kissing her lips again, Ramsey slid his hand under her shirt and fondled her breasts. Soft moans escaped Cashmere’s mouth as he broke their kiss to suck her neck.
“Let’s try to make a boy this time,” Cashmere moaned in a whisper.
“You ain’t said nothin’ but a word,” he replied in her ear.

From the moment they arrived at their villa in Dubai, Cashmere was at a loss for words. She knew how beautiful it was from the pictures she’d seen online and the pictures that celebrities had posted on Instagram, but to witness the city’s beauty in person was a different story. The villa Ramsey had booked for them was big for just the two of them, but she didn’t complain at all. It was equipped with everything they needed for their stay. The villa had three bedrooms, a large, gourmet kitchen with a bar, living room and dining area. The pool area had a bar as well and plenty of lounge chairs to relax in. Everything was perfect, and the fact that they were there alone made it that much better.
After they unpacked their bags, they got comfortable in the king size bed and went to sleep for a few hours. They needed to recover from the sex session that had taken place on the jet. Cashmere didn’t know if she really meant the words she spoke about trying to have a boy, but once they got started, her doubt went out the window. The way they made love to each other on the jet, she didn’t care if she ended up with triplets the next time around. After they were finished, Cashmere felt like they had connected with each other on a deeper level and she loved every minute of it.
