Evolution: The Revelation

“I suppose people are settling old accounts and tying up loose ends,” Delores thought. “My husband and I are old and are fortunate to have lived a long time. We’ve had a long and happy marriage that produced a son. He grew up in our house and when he was old enough, left for his own place decorated by his wife, and populated by his own children, some of whom are parents themselves. If the end does come, my husband and I are prepared. There is nothing for us to fear. I take that back, I do fear something. I fear that we won’t look strong enough for the family when it’s that time.”

“You both sound to me stronger than I ever have been. Me, I have always been scared. You might not have noticed because I always acted tough. Nevertheless, I was deeply fearful. When I was abducted by the Ancient Visitors, the fear almost paralyzed me. I know people speak about how brave I was, but in truth, I was more coward than brave. Or at least that’s how I felt.”

“Cowardice is how you feel,” Abe told him. “Your actions are how you are judged whether by God or by yourself.”

As D’Shawn reflected on what Abe said and reflected on his whole life, he thought of his wife and children so much that tears fell from both his eyes. The hardest part to take was the moments he was separated from them. In some cases, he missed most of their lives. Now he was separated a thousand years from them. It was then that he yearned for them. Until that moment, the mission to stop Satan was keeping his mind off his family. But now, his family was all he could think about, so he sat there weeping on Highway 6 heading north in Abe’s and Delores’ vehicle.

About an hour later, Abe informed D’Shawn, “We’re here, and as we thought, the place is deserted. What do you want to do?”

“Please let me out here,” he told the old couple. “This is where I need to be.”

A concerned Delores asked, “Are you going to be all right? We can stay with you until someone else arrives.”

D’Shawn opened the door, and as he left the vehicle, he expressed to the old couple, “Abe and Delores, you have my utmost gratitude. Please go to your family and enjoy every second with them. Don’t worry about me. Again, thank you.”

As the dust from the old couple’s departing vehicle cleared, D’Shawn climbed the hill on the winding path through ancient ruins until he got to the top. He knew he reached the peak because in every direction, he could see for miles. So there he waited.

Minutes turned to hours, but he patiently waited. By the third hour, he noticed something coming from the sky. It was about the size of a house except it was floating down from the clouds. There were markings on it, and he recognized it immediately. It was an Ancient Visitors’ transport, similar to the one he saw on the Ancient Visitors’ ship. This time it was piloted not by Marcus but by an Ancient Visitor.

That transport slowly descended onto the ruins, knocking down the few palm trees at the historic archaeological site. It scattered many of the heavy stones that were there for thousands of years as the Ancient Visitors landed. D’Shawn, the only person on this hilltop site, stood there as the craft settled and throttled down.

D’Shawn immediately recognized the Ancient Visitors exiting the craft. They had large heads, but their eyes looked disproportionably large along with sunken ears and noses. The color of their skin, for some, was gray with a hint of green, while others were all green but ranging from light green to a very dark green. A fabric that looked like suede covered their bodies and long limbs. Each had a different style, with subtle differences in their physical features and in some cases major differences in how they maneuvered their facial muscles. Their heights and body shapes were each slightly different, some looked stronger and others had quicker reflexes.

In the presence of beings more intelligent and physically stronger, D’Shawn didn’t feel as frightened as he had thought he would when seeing them. No, he was just looking on as he analyzed the size of the ship and its number of Ancient Visitors. A few moments later, he figured that the craft and it occupants were a scout ship sent out in advance of one of the Ancient Visitors’ main vessels.

One of the Ancient Visitors came upon D’Shawn and looked him over. He examined the former football player then signaled to one of the other Ancient Visitors. As it spoke to the other one, D’Shawn, remembering their language, heard it say, “Salton, this is one of our designs we sent to this planet to oversee the potential warriors.”

“Itlon, it must be a defective design. This puny being should be kneeling down to worship us. We should destroy it then find others more suitable for our needs. Back away, and I’ll do it right now.”

“Wait Salton”, the tall light green being with cold eyes said. “Maybe, he was one of the perpetrators who destroyed our vessel. If that’s the case, then Belial will want him studied and absorbed into the ship’s computer for analysis. We need to find out what went wrong so it won’t happen again. This way, the next batch will be engineered correctly.”

Salton ordered one of the other Ancient Visitors to harness D’Shawn.

In a matter of seconds, D’Shawn had the same type of harness put on him when he was abducted. This time, however, he didn’t feel as scared as he had the first time because he knew in his heart that it wouldn’t matter.”

With the harness now strapped to his body from his shoulders down his back along his vertebrae, D’Shawn knew there was no turning back. So he jokingly told them, “Take me to your leader. Oh shit, I can’t believe I said that. I wish Steven, Marcus, and rest her soul, Cynthia were here to hear that. They would have gotten a kick out of that.”

A disturbed Salton then touched his arm containing his control panel and zapped a jolt from D’Shawn’s harness throughout his body thus making D’Shawn collapse to the ground.

This made D’Shawn think out loud as he stood up, “Oh that’s right, you people have no sense of humor.”

Again, another paralyzing jolt shot through D’Shawn’s body as he again fell to the ground. This time however, Salton ordered one of the slave species on board the craft to carry D’Shawn onto the ship.

Back at the command center, Marcus was frantically organizing an assault on the approaching Ancient Visitor main craft. As the people on Earth heard about the approaching alien ship, they gathered their families and awaited the doom with little desire to defend themselves. Many of the others went to Jerusalem to follow the leader of the Peace, Love, and Serenity movement. This was not helping Marcus’s cause.

He received a communication at Steven’s urging from Hailey through the Grid, “Marcus, with the Ancient Visitors about to land on Earth, Steven wanted me to inform you of something I heard growing up that if true could help.”

“I’m all ears Hailey, What do you have?”

“My parents told me a rumor they had heard in their youth. Stories of other Ancient Visitors coming to Earth since Bishop Terapion. The rumor has it they were destroyed or fled Earth. It could be nothing, but Scripture does mention other false prophets coming to tempt the people of Earth. Anyway, the part of the rumor that is relevant to our predicament, the capture of Ancient Visitor weapons. It could be that the reason the Council of Nations didn’t tell you of the weapons is because they didn’t know since the rumored Ancient Visitors were here hundreds of years ago and hidden from records to keep the population from being alarmed.”

“I’ll try anything at this point,’ he told her. “Where do you think the weapons might be?”

“The old stories say they are in an old military base. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of Fort Knox?”

  “Yes I have!”

“I hope I am not sending you on what your time would call: a wild goose chase.”

“Quite frankly my dear, I’d rather be doing something than waiting for the Ancient Visitors to get here to either enslave me or kill me.”

Marcus then gathered the remaining Returned and headed for Fort Knox.

About an hour later, the craft D’Shawn was captured in flew from Megiddo directly east to the Mediterranean Sea and waited along the s
horeline. They then emptied the ship of all Ancient Visitors and slaves along with D’Shawn to wait on the beach.

The Ancient Visitors, seeing the mid-afternoon sunlight dim as the large main ship descended to Earth’s surface, made the slaves and D’Shawn, kneel down and bow their heads. They too went down on one knee to show obedience.

Before putting his head down, D’Shawn witnessed a massive craft the size of a small moon lowering itself down into the Mediterranean Sea. The ship was so large it sank but only a small fraction sank into the water, the closest point about a mile out from where D’Shawn knelt. It was hard to miss and you could see it beyond the curvature of the landscape. As a matter of fact, it could be seen from as far as Greece and Italy. It could most definitely be seen from Jerusalem where Kaiden and those who came to follow him took notice.

Up in the sky, D’Shawn could see the floating cities in orbit like New Jerusalem breaking up as they came back into the Earth’s atmosphere in a display of large fireballs shooting down from the sky. It reminded him of Fourth of July fireworks, although, D’Shawn didn’t feel festive as he knew thousands of people had lived in those cities and were now perished.

The ominous sight frightened many people, as a mass exodus in the region ensued immediately. Many grabbed what belongings they could hold and left in the opposite direction by flying transport or land based vehicle.

In Nazareth, Abe and Delores helped their frantic son pack the family transport to get it ready to leave the region. As their son ran through his dwelling for last second items to take along, Delores asked Abe, “Do you think our driving companion is involved with that?”

“I have a feeling he is very involved,” Abe replied. “When he was with us, he had a determined look on his face.”

“It might be so,” she thought. “To me, I got the feeling he was going to face the conclusion of something. I now have an uneasy sense that he knew he was going to his end. Yeah Abe, during the ride he only spoke of the past and he didn’t mention the future. Sure, we all knew the end was near, but we all have some sort of hope for whatever future we might have left. He knew his was near.”

“Delores, we can only pray he’s okay and at the very least, content with the life he led. Now, let’s hurry along and extend our family’s future a bit longer,” Abe said as he ushered her into the family transport.

About two miles away from the beach east of the landed ship, Marcus organized the remaining Returned. He had them positioned high on a hill within sight of it. Peering through goggles, similar to binoculars from his time but with strength and clarity to see a dime sized scratch two miles away on the ship’s hull, he could see every aspect of the massive ship. Not only that, he could hear as clearly as he could see as the goggles provided sound as well.

He was impressed and scared by the sight of the now, landed ship which could fit ten Mount Everest’s in its belly. He also viewed a small Ancient Visitor transport parked on the beach.

Marcus was feeling a little better, for he and the others were able to secure numerous Ancient Visitor weapons captured during the last thousand years. Apparently, it was true that there were times in the past when the Ancient Visitors had been to Earth. He thought if he lives through this that he might find it interesting to read up on that; however, this wasn’t the time. It was, though, time to observe these Ancient Visitors to try to understand what they were up to.

A moment or two later, he watched as a part of the hull on the left side retracted and a large transport exited the ship with a squadron of what he presumed were smaller fighters flying a security detail. This, Marcus thought, could be an opportunity to attack and take out someone important to the Ancient Visitors. In Marcus’ mind, he was thinking if they can make a strategic strike, they could take down someone of value. If successful and if the target was high ranking enough, maybe the conflict could be avoided. Or maybe Marcus was just grasping at straws.

Watching the craft travel the mile stretch to the beach, Marcus awaited the chance to make a strike. It was then that his high powered goggles focused in on the Ancient Visitor transport at the sea’s edge. Looking at it he figured it held about ten individuals. The larger approaching transport held about fifty, while the fighter squadron held one to two passengers. This he needed to know in order to understand the numbers they were up against because his group of Returned was down to nineteen left. The odds, he thought, definitely favored the Ancient Visitors. His hope, rested purely on surprise.

He witnessed then the occupants of the smaller transport, who had previously been obstructed by that transport, move out in the open to greet the larger one. It was then that Marcus noticed D’Shawn surrounded by Ancient Visitors and their slaves. Seeing his friend with a harness on was shocking to Marcus. This made him angry and he wanted with all his power to advance to face and battle the Ancient Visitor force there on the ground. The only thing holding him back was his military training. It helped him focus on the task at hand which is observing the situation and designing an action plan with solid intelligence.

So Marcus focused the goggles and raised the volume in order assess the situation.

The slave pushed D’Shawn forward as the larger transport landed. The transport looked to D’Shawn as about the same size as the one the Returned used to escape back to Earth. This one however had a contingent of Ancient Visitors file out of the side hatchway. The last one out, was a leader D’Shawn assumed. That was confirmed, when Salton bowed before him and expressed, “Almighty Belial, I present the prisoner.”

At that point, D’Shawn knew this was the Ancient Visitor he had to relay the message to. He then said, “Belial, it was written in the Dead Sea Scrolls: ‘But for corruption thou hast made Belial, an angel of hostility. All his dominions are in darkness, and his purpose is to bring about wickedness and guilt. All the spirits that are associated with him are but angels of destruction.’ If that is whom I am speaking to, then I have a message for you.”

Belial angrily questioned his subordinates, “Why is this slave speaking to me??”

After activating D’Shawn’s harness which sent jolts of electricity throughout his body forcing him into a painful fetal position, Salton bowed down before Belial and told him, “Master, this is one of the slaves trained by our lost brothers who came back to this planet. We present him to you in order to question him.”

“Very well,” Belial told Salton. “Have his miserable body put into the liquid computer and we’ll know everything he does. Do it now.”

Following Belial’s command, a tub of the Ancient Visitors’ liquid computer floated out of the transport and hovered over to right in front of D’Shawn. Salton’s slaves dragged D’Shawn the rest of the way toward the floating tub.

This is the same liquid, D’Shawn remembered, James Connor was submerged into to release the nano technology into the Ancient Visitor’s computer system in order to render it inoperative even if for a short time. It is also the same liquid that’s so corrosive that it killed James Connor.

As he was brought over, D’Shawn mentioned to Belial, “I have a message from the One. He wanted to tell you two things.”

Belial then suddenly raised his hand, and the slaves stopped in their tracks. “What message?”

“I was told to tell you to repent, for His forgiveness is everlasting,” D’Shawn told Belial.

Belial briefly laughed then put his hand back down to signal to the slaves to proceed to put D’Shawn into the tub. Its liquid will absorb and download D’Shawn to where the Ancient Visitors can access anything in his memory. Just like the James Connor program Hailey activated, the Ancient Visitors will access a virtual D’Shawn who will freely give them any information they could ask for.

As the slaves continued to bring D’Shawn to the tub, weapons fire was heard coming from inland hitting some Ancient Visitors as well as hitting the transports. It was Marcus’s group attacking the two transports.

The Ancient Visitors and slaves around D’Shawn returned fire. Soon i
t erupted into a battle as combatants on both sides fell. Marcus even reached close enough to see the face of his friend without any goggles. As he raced to save his friend, D’Shawn yelled to him, “I have to do this. They need to know.”

Marcus firing away while trying to get closer to D’Shawn, yelled back, “What do you have to do?”

D’Shawn turned away from Marcus and headed toward the tub and its liquid. During the few steps into that direction, he thought about his family and the love they had for each other. He thought about his life and the path that led him straight to this moment. Finally, he thought about the message he needed to give the Ancient Visitors. Then without hesitation he plunged himself into the tub. Immediately, D’Shawn squirmed until the corrosive liquid dissolved and downloaded him, all to Marcus’s horror.

  Chapter 10

  21st Century.

Leonardo’s transport, a winged Visitor Class, popular at the time due to its resemblance to the Ancient Visitors’ craft James Connor and Cameron’s parents discovered in Ethiopia, landed within walking distance to the ruins at Pergamon in the morning just before sunrise. There Cameron waited with Taylor, Leonardo, and about four of Leonardo’s people for Dr. Ken Lewis to arrive.

As Cameron sat in his chair inside the cabin of the transport viewing the tourist bus drop-off station for the early bus, Taylor, the only other person awake, made some coffee for the two as she kept him company.

After taking a sip, he said to her, “Thanks, I needed that.”

“You’re welcome,” she told him. “I also found some old military rations in one of the compartments. Would you like to try one?”

“No thanks, coffee is just fine for now,” he responded. This was followed by a few minutes of awkward silence that they both noticed. As for Cameron, he had always felt uncomfortable when making a connection with someone he felt attracted to. It’s not that he didn’t want or have relationships; it was that his mind would go blank when he met someone new. As bright as he was, he always hated how his sentences and vocabulary would minimize when in the presence of someone he liked. It was hard for him to utter the only thing he could think of at the moment, “Sorry you were dragged into this investigation.”
