Daniel opened the package. Inside was a book entitled The Complete Sherlock Holmes. “Thank you, Jason. I guess better late than never. I’ll get started reading this tonight!”
“And Daniel, I didn’t send it in the mail because I wanted to give it to you personally, but I have one of those letters for you also with the four-year college fund. Now you can go to Julliard or whatever music school you want and really concentrate.”
“I’m speechless, Jason. But how are you able to do this? I thought you gave up all of the money.”
“Remember that diamond I showed you? I had them put that in a special personal account for me. I hedged my bet a little on the foundation. Don’t worry. It’s not enough to turn me into an arrogant snob, maybe just a little annoying at times.”
Jason then turned to his parents. “Mom, Dad, I think it’s time to head on home. I heard a rumor that we might actually have a normal week ahead of us!”
“Sounds like a plan I could get behind,” Bill Hunter replied with a big smile.
Turning to face his friends, Jason said, “Thank you all for coming down to the airport. I am so fortunate to have such great friends!”

Things were normal for the time being, but the Hunter & Holmes detective team soon would be put to the test again. As Sherlock Holmes said, “Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent.”
