Puppy Love Page 15

Then the heat within her reached its peak and she tensed, waves of bliss rolling through her. Colin groaned and arched, gripping her hips and pulsing his cum deep inside her. Nothing like this…ever before…

Tiffany remained on top of him after they had both come together. She leaned over, resting on his chest, every muscle in her body limp. The candlelight flickered, creating a romantic glow in the otherwise-dark room. The apartment was quiet and she felt again like they were the only two people in the entire world. Tiffany could feel Colin’s heart pounding hard but his hands stayed on her, as though he feared what would happen if they broke apart.

“So, you want to stay married?” Colin asked in a ragged breath.

“I think I need a few more samples before I decide for sure.” Tiffany raised her head and kissed him.

“I think we can arrange that.” Colin held on to her as she tried to move off him.

“Let me go.” Tiffany laughed, suddenly self-conscious and covering her breasts. The euphoric haze was wearing off and being completely naked was becoming a reality. Tiffany wanted to hide under the comforter, to shield her body from Colin’s gaze. “Come on, Colin.”

  “Nope, not doing it.”

  “Why?”

“Do you know how long I have wanted this? That first night when you kissed me, I wanted you then. I can’t explain the connection I feel with you, but I can say with all honesty that I have never in my life felt anything like this.” Colin kissed her again. “Woman, you have ruined me.”

“Married life agrees with you.” Molly smiled at Tiffany. “She’s glowing, isn’t she?” Molly asked Mackenzie.

They were seated at a small table the next day, sharing a late afternoon latte.

“I have to admit that I wish I would have slept with him sooner,” Tiffany said. “Last night was incredible.”

It was all she could think about. If she’d thought their first go-around was spectacular, that had been nothing compared to the loving that had continued all night. Colin had lavished her body with more attention than she’d ever experienced with a lover. It was as though he were trying to prove something or maybe make up for lost time. Either way, her husband was quite talented and Tiffany was pleasantly sore today.

“So how are you feeling, Mama?” Tiffany looked at Molly.

“Fine.” Molly smiled. “Look, I knew you and Colin needed to sort out that whole consummating the marriage business. You did and now normal life can resume.”

Mackenzie laughed. “Normal life? That ship has sailed, ladies.”

“Gosh, isn’t that the truth,” Tiffany agreed.

“I hate to rain on your parade, but have you guys discussed like work and stuff?” Mackenzie asked.

“I doubt she’ll go back to work,” Molly added. “She’s a kept woman now.” She winked at Tiffany.

“We haven’t discussed it, but we need to. I have been going a little stir-crazy from not doing anything and also not knowing what to do about money. I need to work.”

“I get that,” Mackenzie agreed. “And it’s smart to not rely on him. We don’t know how this will all pan out. What if you guys don’t make it? You definitely need a backup plan.”

“Things are going to be fine,” Molly argued. “But you do need to address some of these concerns with him.”

“You guys are right, but I think I’d feel better knowing I have a job. Even if everything turns out great, I can’t just stay home all day. I need to be doing something.”

“It’s good to know that all those millions haven’t changed you.” Mackenzie lifted her latte.

“Here’s to our rich bitch,” Molly added.

Tiffany shook her head and refused to toast with them. “I’m not a gold digger. That money is not mine.”

“Oh, babe, we know that. We’re just teasing,” Mackenzie said soothingly. “Molly is really the rich bitch out of all of us. She made her money. I’m broke because I decided to shape the young minds of our future. You peddle coffee, which is basically like being a drug dealer without all the glamour.”

“Good grief.” Molly was giggling hard, which became contagious and they all broke out into hysterical laughter.

“Mac, you seriously have been on vacation for a little too long. When does school start back?”

“Next month. I’m ready. I hate being off this long. If I had some hot fisherman or sexy Irish CEO, maybe I wouldn’t mind so much.”

“We need to find her a man,” Molly joked.

“I agree. Maybe we should look into speed dating. Or what’s that app they have now?”

“Okay, you two, that’s enough. True love will find me. It’s taking its sweet-ass time, but it’ll show up eventually.”

They nodded. She was right. It would, but if anyone deserved to find love, it was Mac. Or, at the very least, she needed to get laid.

Tiffany’s bed squeaked as Colin gripped the headboard and moved in a steady rhythm. If he wasn’t careful, he was going to break it, but it would totally be worth it. She’d read somewhere that it was better for a man to break your headboard than your heart.

They were working together to climb that peak so they could find release together again. Colin had already brought her there twice, but he wanted her to join him when he finally came. Tiffany was panting as the sensations intensified and her orgasm fired. Colin grew rigid as he buried himself deeply inside her. Tiffany’s pussy squeezed Colin’s cock, milking him as they came together. Their bodies were sweaty and sensitive. Tiffany closed her eyes. Damn, he’s good. This was beyond some of the best sex she’d ever experienced.

“You still needing more convincing?” Colin asked as he rolled over.

“Convincing for what?” Tiffany was in a post-orgasmic daze and words were difficult to manage.

“About staying married.” Colin turned on his side to face her. He stroked her skin.

“I may still need some more test runs on this,” Tiffany teased as her hand traveled over his well-defined abs.

Colin laughed. “You can test drive it as much you’d like.” Then Colin’s face turned serious. “Tiffany, we do need to talk. We can’t keep dancing around it.”

“I know. I was telling the girls today that I need to have some purpose. I need to find a job or something.”

“A job? Oh, don’t be silly. You don’t need to work,” Colin said.

“I do too need to work. I have no money coming in.”

“You don’t need to worry about anything like that again, Tiffany. I will always care for you and you’ll never want for anything.” Colin kissed her on top of her head and she recoiled.

“I don’t want to be taken care of. Colin, I want to work, especially if this whole sham of a marriage crumbles. I need to be able to support myself.”

“That’s my job as your husband. You have your role as my wife. There will be duties that need to be fulfilled.” A playful sinister smile crossed his lips as he kissed her again.

“Duties?” Tiffany raised her eyebrows at him.

  “Just some work-related duties.”

Tiffany was a tad disappointed, then quickly worried what he meant by work. Without hesitating, she snapped, “What the hell does that mean?”

“It’s not as bad as it sounds. For example, I have a few functions in the coming weeks that we need to attend and I’d like you to be by my side,” Colin explained.

“I’m not going to live out my days as some trophy wife, Colin. I want to have purpose and do something with myself.”

“And being an assistant was doing something with your life?”

The arrogance in his tone disgusted her. “I think you need to leave.” She wasn’t about to be insulted in her own home—heck, in her own bed.

  “You can’t be serious?”

“Colin, I am. You should go.”

“No, I won’t, because that isn’t how marriage works.” Colin sat up, propping himself on the pillows. “So, we don’t agree
on something—too bad. There will be more of that to come. Trust me, love. You don’t have the right to ask me to leave.”

“Why not? This is my home,” Tiffany countered.

“Because you refuse to move into mine. I’m willing to sell it and be here with you if that’s what it takes. I’ll have you know that you aren’t getting rid of me so easily.”

Tiffany wanted to scream, but instead, tears pushed their way through. Colin used his thumb to brush them away.

“I don’t mean to upset you. If you want to work, then fine, but you don’t have to. I do need you to be by my side for certain events and not because I look at you as some kind of prize or trophy. You are worth so much more than that. But I need you there because we are in this together. We are partners now. A team.”

Tiffany’s anger dissipated. The man had a way with words. He knew how to sell something and he’d just sold her on the idea of their marriage—a partnership.

“Then I want to stay on as your assistant. I have ideas and would love to help this company grow.”

  “You can’t be my assistant.”

“Wow, so that whole team thing was just some bullshit line?”

“No, you would be my partner, Tiffany. Equals.”

“Oh.” She felt like an idiot. Tiffany really needed to think before she spoke. She was getting tired of putting her foot in her mouth.

Colin cupped her cheek and pulled her to him. “I know you won’t say it yet, but, Tiffany, I think I love you.” He kissed her and Tiffany let herself melt against him.

“Okay, so we’re doing this…like next weekend,” Molly announced in her studio the following day.

Mackenzie and Tiffany exchanged surprised looks.

  “Are you sure?” Tiffany asked.

“Yes. Owen and I talked it over. I need to quit putting it off. Hawaii, it is.”

“But that leaves us with no time to throw a shower or anything,” Tiffany complained.

“Moll, let’s take a breath here, okay?” Mackenzie added.

“Nope, this is the plan. We want you guys there and we plan on having a party for everyone when we get back,” Molly stated firmly. “I don’t want the fuss, just Owen.”

“But the fuss is what makes it so fun.” Tiffany laughed. “You are robbing us both. You know that, right?”

“I’ll let you guys be in charge of my baby shower.”

Tiffany glanced over at Mackenzie. “That works.”

“Eek, this is so exciting,” Mackenzie squealed. “So, when do we leave and have you guys decided where at in Hawaii?”

“Well, we have made some arrangements. Colin offered his jet for us all to fly out.”

“He already knows about this?” Tiffany asked.

“Owen called him this morning and he instantly offered the plane. He’s Owen’s best man, after all.”

“That’s really cool of him to do.” Mackenzie patted Tiffany. “Must be nice to have a hubby with a private jet. Comes in handy.”

  Tiffany glared at her.

“We have a lot to do in a short window. But we got this,” Molly said.

“Tiff, looks like you’ll have a honeymoon after all.” Mackenzie winked.

Tiffany rolled her eyes. Then again, Mackenzie was right. Long moonlit walks on the beach, afternoon delights in their swanky hotel room… Yeah, I can work with that.

Tiffany was typing away, something she hadn’t done in weeks, maybe even months. She felt like an open vessel as creativity flowed through her. Tiffany had a jumbo mug of coffee next to her. It was her second cup. The caffeine overdose she was about to experience could have something to do with the rapid typing of words for her new blog. Or could it be that life was good? Really good. What a difference a week and lots of hot sex with your husband could make. Tiffany still got the butterflies when that word entered her brain or escaped her lips. There were proving to be more benefits to this marriage than she’d realized. One, getting to hear Colin’s voice day in and day out was one of her favorite things. Seeing him get ready for work was basically suit-porn. It sometimes led to Colin being attacked before he was set to leave for the office, not that he ever complained. It was good for your husband to be the CEO. Then there was the regular stuff—eating and just hanging out with Colin and Pauly. They were becoming this little family. All of it combined had spurred a fantastic idea for a new blog. Tiffany was excited to chart her life as a newlywed for the whole cyber world to see.

Her fingers continued to dance on the keys of her laptop as Pauly snored loudly under her feet. He was another huge part of her blog and she decided to title it Bulldogs & Handbags, The Barely Married Seattleite. It was there that she’d posted some adorable snapshots of Pauly in his many napping poses. She discovered that Pauly actually adored the camera. Granted, Tiffany did bribe him with treats and used whatever means necessary to capture a cute picture. The blog wasn’t just about her precious Pauly, but Tiffany was also able to channel her fashionista spirit. She was loving every minute of it. Okay, truth be told, she’d barely started the blog a few days before, but it was already getting some attention. Tiffany could kick herself for waiting so long to finally do it, but maybe the timing hadn’t been right and now Tiffany’s creative juices were flowing. She had Colin to thank for that.

Tiffany was deep in thought, stringing sentences together lightning fast, when her cell phone chirped.

Debating whether or not to send it to voicemail, she decided to answer it.

  “Hello?”

“Good afternoon, my lovely wifey,” Colin playfully responded.

She smiled and felt her heart tug a little. Tiffany was quickly falling head over heels in love with Colin. She just worried that it was just this wedded bliss or the newness of their romance—the honeymoon phase. Will I still feel like this in a week, a month? How long before these feelings go away?

“So, what do you want?” Tiffany was still partially distracted by the blinking cursor on her screen. It was willing her to type more, and she was eager to oblige.

“Nothing, just wanted to see how you and my boys were doing.”

  “Boys? You mean Pauly.”

Colin laughed. “No, Mr. Sprinkles too. He adores me.”

“God, he does. I have tried for years to get him to be sweet, but he just warmed right up to you,” Tiffany said as she started to secretly type, hoping Colin didn’t hear her. She hadn’t told him about her new blog or even that writing was a quiet passion of hers.

“What are you doing right now?” Colin asked.

Crap. Could he tell that she was distracted, or had he heard her working the keys on her laptop?

  “Um, nothing. Why?”

“I was thinking we could have lunch.”

“Oh, okay. Where?” Tiffany watched as the words magically appeared on the screen. They were her words and she was creating that magic.

  “Home. In bed.”

Tiffany conceived an idea for another article and made a side note as she answered Colin, “Sure, sounds lovely. What time do you want me to meet you there?”

“Wow, that was easy. How about in thirty minutes?” Colin shot back.

“Huh? Where are we going again?” Tiffany was confused.

“You aren’t even listening, are you?” Colin accused her. “What are you doing?”

“Sorry, I was just reading something. You have my full attention now. So, what is happening?” Tiffany tried to stay focused and the only way she was able to manage that was to close her laptop. Out of sight, out of mind—for the time being, anyway.

“I’m headed home for lunch and you are supposed to be my lunch,” Colin explained again.

“Oh. Does this fall under those wifely duties you told me about?” Tiffany teased.

“You could say that. I’ll be home soon. Love ya.” Colin hung up.

  Tiffany laughed.

This will make a great post on my blog.

  “So,
Tiff, how’s married life treating you?”

“It’s been less than two weeks, but it’s actually going really well,” Tiffany answered happily.

It was going amazingly. Her blog was doing well, Colin had asked for Tiffany to join him in one of the board meetings later that week and lots of incredible sex was happening—all the time and everywhere.

Mackenzie and Molly nodded. “That’s great. He’s a good guy, Tiff. I really hope he makes you happy.”

Today was gorgeous, a little warm, but a perfect day overall to sit at the waterfront with her besties and catch up. Late afternoon lattes were a long-honored tradition and Tiffany was never one to give up an opportunity to partake in a little caffeine refreshment.

“He does, and we finally discussed all that work stuff.” Tiffany sipped her iced latte.

“Good. How did that go?” Mackenzie asked, swirling the bright pink straw in her large plastic cup.

Tiffany grinned. “He made me partner in the company.”

They both stared back at her. The shock on their faces was cemented for some time.

Screw Botox, just tell your friends that you are a partner in a multi-million coffee corporation.

“Are you kidding me?” Molly asked. “That’s insane. I mean good crazy, but damn.”

“I know. Colin wants us to be equals. At first, he didn’t want me to work, but Colin knows it’s important for me. I offered to come back as his assistant and he said no. I was pissed, but then he told me why.”

“Wow, Colin is really putting a lot of faith in this marriage. No prenuptial agreements and just handing over half of it to you. Wow, that says a lot,” Mackenzie pointed out.

“It’s wild, but I won’t let him down. I want to make Blue Moose Coffee a success. I have always had ideas, just no one to hear them.”

“Tiff, this is huge. Do you think it’s going to hurt your marriage, though?” Molly asked.

“It shouldn’t. He wants us to be a united front, a team.”
