“Princess?” Winter and Nydia’s soft voices blended as one.
Reina gathered herself and threw the covers off her. “Change of plans, ladies,” she almost roared as she constrained her anger and pushed the hands away that tried to help her out of her massive bed. “Get off me! I said we have a change of plans. Nydia!” she shouted as she stared at her Protector, who stood in a sheer peach camisole nightgown, the fire’s glow behind her from the fireplace casting a glimpse of her naked body underneath.
“Have you located my pet?” Reina’s hand flew to her disheveled hair while she glared at her Protector, watching her as she waited.
“I have not. His scent has disappeared, but I am backtracking and going to his old hangouts.”
Reina glared, walked up to her, and backhanded her hard as her Protector snarled. Nydia clutched her face before reflexively backhanding Reina back with a growl. “I am doing my job, Princess. I am here to protect and honor your will!” She stood panting, her hands clenched.
Reina leered and licked her own bloody mouth as she nodded. “I have another job for you. Mira.” She snapped her fingers and walked around the chambers.
Winter reached out to dab at her mouth, and Reina hissed, pushing her back in fringed fury.
“Find this book! I have seen some of the landmarks where it might be, and it is important that we get it before that Oracle bitch and her Protectors get it!” She flashed the image of what she saw in her vision to both Winter and Nydia.
“You find it, and you draw that bitch to you. She wants it. We get that, we get her, and you end her!” Reina’s eyes flashed with power as she breathed hard. “Do you both understand me? Take what you need, and you both get that book.”
Winter calmly smoothed a hand down her silk royal blue nightgown and averted her eyes as she spoke in respect. “Princess, your father wills that we keep her alive, and this book you seek . . . we will do all we can to find it.”
Moving with a silent swiftness, her gown rustled against her stone floor. Fury had control tonight, and she smiled in satisfaction as she held Winter by her throat. She pressed her body against Winter’s softness as she spoke. “Do . . . not . . . question . . . me. Get what I said and prepare my things. We go hunting for this book, and we will find it and present the head of that bitch on a platter for my beloved father. Comprendes?”
Winter kept her eyes on the Princess and saw Nydia watch with a flash of concern that quickly disappeared. Nodding her head, she realized her nails had dug into Reina’s wrist, and the dark aromatic scent of her blood had filled the room. Winter licked her lips and wished this was a moment in time where she was blessed with fangs. She wished she wasn’t just an immortal human Mystic bitten by the Cursed and made to be a Witch, so she could defend herself bite for bite.
Reina’s bite was swift, and Winter kept herself from struggling with the pain, which felt like a thousand knives cutting into her soul. The dark part of Winter did enjoy this, but the Light in her wanted to poison the bitch and light her ass on fire.
Winter raised her leg and pushed, slamming the Dark Lady to the floor as she held her neck and stepped back. She swiftly kicked the Princess before standing, panting, malicious sneer on her face. The games the Princess liked did make her happy to whup her ass.
Reina sat, face bowed, hair spilling over her face as she breathed hard, licking her glistening dark red lips with a sinister grin. “Bring me a toy. I need to fuck.”
Winter nodded, and she watched as Nydia gave her customary bow. “We will follow your wishes. Darkness be.”
“Nydia.”
The Medusa paused, slightly turning. “Yes, Princess?”
“I still want my other toy. Find him.”
Nodding, Nydia’s eyes flashed, and she cast a dark smile. “As you wish.” Then she quietly walked away
Reina walked back to her bed as her gown fell to the floor, leaving her naked, her creamy caramel, hieroglyph-tattooed skin glowing with the fire. Her plump rear so round and perky, with two dimples that winked, left many Dark Society women envious of their Princess. Her dark brown hair curled on the ends, spilling down her back, covering her plump breasts.
Turning away and opening the door to the suite, Winter had to find a way to warn the others and warn them fast. She also had to find a way to slow down the hunt at all costs. She was known for her knowledge in books, so she knew most of the hunt would fall on her. This sabotage was going to be interesting.
“Will Kwan satisfy you, Princess?” she calmly asked. Winter’s hand held her bleeding neck as she tapped her ring and sent healing balm to spread over her neck.
“Kwan and Ethan, send them both.”
Curtsying, Winter quickly and quietly exited the chamber and searched out her best well-trained attendants. They were her special little project, and they worked well in her secret game. But in this game of covert affairs, she knew she had to continue to block her mind while going any deeper. She was going to have to adjust her plans to destroy this Royal House. Glancing at her hands, she remembered what she was told and slyly smiled. Warning the others was now a high priority.
Light flashed across her eyes, and she heard a slight tinkling sound, like thousands of tiny bells. She sighed, snuggling into the warmth that claimed her as his. How he made her feel last night was unforgettable. She couldn’t believe how bold and comfortable in her skin he’d made her feel. She was hungry for more of him. His taste was addictive, savory, and sweet, like toffee coated in chocolate. He was incredible.
She inhaled and remembered how he awoke her. Everything seemed to slide into place like a puzzle. She felt her body hum and click. Her gumline was slightly sore as her incisors descended. Her back was tense and tender as her wings grew. Her mouth tasted sweet like powder sugar, and everything in her said, “Bite him. Mark him,” and she did. Oh, did she.
His touch suddenly made her more aware, as the light and the tinkling sound continued off in the distance.
She stretched, a slow grin forming as his searching mouth brushed her lips. She heard him whisper, “Wake up.”
She arched as his large hand found her waking kitty. She thought she was going to lose it, the way he touched her. It was as if he intuitively knew how to make her crave him. Her legs began to rub together, creating additional friction, and she felt him flick his tongue over her hard nipples then suck.
Instantly, her soft mound was in his eager mouth. He lapped at her with a gentle slurp and pulled back, blowing as he whispered, “I know you are awake.”
Her head nodded up and down, and she opened her sleepy eyelids with a blink. She looked down at the man who made her body feel like a sleeping volcano. Licking her lips, she groaned and bit her lower lip at the same time.
She felt him slip a finger inside of her and gently slowly stroke her. Her body, especially where he touched, was still tender, but she felt his power blanket her, soothing away the aches she was feeling.
She moaned, “Thank you, Lord, for this man!’
Her head dug into the mattress, and her hips dipped then jutted up to match his strokes, and he claimed her mouth, drinking deeply.
The sound of the bells and the flash of light hit her senses again as distant voices in her mind broke through.
“Ey. Calm that shit down, homie. We know your palms are killing you, but chill. We got this.”
“You don’t understand, man! It’s like I got gonorrhea of the hands. This shit is insane!”
“Ha! Gonorrhea of the hands. Good shit, homie.”
Sanna recognized the voices. Amit and Calvin were joking around with each other. She sighed and tried to block them out. They were interrupting her groove while Khamun’s kisses lightened, his shaft resting against her swollen clit, and she heard him chuckle.
“My man is a fool, your cousin, that is,” Khamun groggily muttered, his nose tracing the side of her neck while he yawned and shifted his weight off her.
She wanted to spread her legs and let him take her to the heavens
and high-five every level she passed, but the voices seemed to go on.
“You hear them too?” she asked.
Khamun’s sexy chuckle vibrated through her, making her shift against him. Her hand slid down his back to find his rock-solid yet soft, well-rounded rear. He had that rear she could grip or bounce a quarter off, and she wasn’t mad about it at all.
“Yeah, baby. We are very much linked right now. I see that light too, by the way and”—He grunted, holding her tight—“I think you’re supposed to follow, but I don’t want you to just yet.”
He wiggled his hips, and she groaned, suddenly kissing his neck with need, her lower lip tracing over the second bite she gave him.
As he had explained it last night, they were unofficially married. A part of her was shocked, but her nature and heart said, “Heck, yes!” So she accepted it. She would have to adjust. And he promised, when she was ready, he would ask her the right way. So he told her to think of it as a permanent engagement, and she was fine with it.
She wondered about those who wanted to break a union made like this, and he told her it was rare, but it involved a lot of protocol and a lot of bodyguards. She just blinked and took it for what it was.
“Tell me, baby, how you learn to work them hips like that?”
She shrugged against him, her legs shifting and her hips rising as he shifted and slid himself within her an inch at a time. Now, see, he was so wrong for that, but oh, so right for it too. She squeezed her eyes tight at his girth, opening wider in tenderness and pleasure.
“I—I was just, I don’t know. Saw it somewhere. Thought I’d try.”
Khamun chuckled and kissed the side of her neck, licking where he bit her as he shifted up. He dropped his head to kiss the underside of her breast, where he had bit her. “Watched it, huh? So you got a little nasty in you, huh? I mean, I knew that of course, but it’s something different in being in the presence of it.”
Blushing, she thought back on when he’d told her she couldn’t get pregnant unless she was on her cycle, and since he had been around her without her knowledge, he knew her cycle better than she. He’d told her that, since Nephilims were half-human, the Angel side of her had her Nephilim cycle as every other full month. Her human cycle had her typically once a month where she bled, but her Nephilim four-month cycle would consist of her body just cramping until it got to that fourth month, when she’d bleed.
She had to whisper another prayer because if she had to deal with bleeding every full month instead of just one full month every other four months, she’d jump off the highest building she could find. It still sucked that one month she’d bleed for that full month, but she’d deal.
Khamun’s length pulled her back to reality as his slow strokes drowned out the voices in both of their minds. She found herself teary-eyed at the pleasure he gave her as he dipped between her legs again and sampled her so deeply. She found herself coming in his mouth.
“Damn! So good, baby. Come here,” he cajoled.
Her eyelids fluttered close, and he sheathed himself within her again. This sensual calming of the bodies made her come for the . . . she lost count. But she felt oh so good with the many times he’d made her release.
“A’ight, baby, that light seems to be annoyed, straight interrupting grown folks’ business. You think you can walk and we can see where it’s at?” Khamun ran his fingers through her hair.
Sanna lay against his chest, twirling her fingers around each strand of his crinkled locks. “Mmmm. I guess.”
Picking her up, Khamun took her to the bathroom, where she soaked in a hot tub with him. He scrubbed and massaged her down before lifting her up and drying her down.
She felt pampered like never before while he rubbed her down with nutty sweet oil. She gasped as he cupped her mound with a smirk on his face, rubbing that oil in, dipping into her briefly before dropping his hands.
“Oil of Ruth. It is a special blend used for helping many pains of the mind, spirit, heart, and body. It also used in”—He blushed as he softly chuckled—“in easing the pain of a virgin’s first night, so there you go, baby. The house you will belong to with my mother specializes in this oil and others.”
Her skin was already glowing like soft gold from their lovemaking, and the oil only enhanced it. Resting a hand over his head and tracing to cup his jaw, she watched Khamun kiss her thigh, hip, stomach, and then rise up to kiss her deeply on the lips.
Khamun moved and headed to this closet and pulled out clothes for himself and her.
She accepted the jersey-soft yoga shorts he gave her and red tank. She watched him dress, his dark cinnamon skin glowing as the muscles in his rear and back tightened while he moved. She had to turn away before he saw how much she wanted him again. The scent of their lovemaking mixed with the seductive scent of the oils he rubbed on her had her heady again.
“Too late, baby. I want you too, and if you keep on, we not going any damn where.” His eyes flashed at her, and a slow, seductive smile spread across his face.
She swallowed, quickly putting her clothes on. She was happy that he gave her shorts that felt like jersey. She knew why, and she was very grateful. She turned back around, and she found him studying her.
His fangs kissed his lips while he closed his eyes and tossed her a pair of black-and-red Nike. “Must your thighs be so damn thick and sexy, all glowing and shit. All right, let’s go.” He grabbed her hand fast, entwining their fingers, while she hopped on one foot, sliding across the floor quickly to put her sneakers on.
She watched her man pause in the hallway, tilting his head left and right as he listened for the soft chiming. His amber eyes narrowed and seemed to slightly glow with power as he glanced then hitched his head. “That way.”
Sanna nodded and followed. The voices in her mind returned, and she shivered. She could feel them as if they were in her face.
“Look, I just want to go back to normal. My damn hands itch and are peeling. I can’t even get a decent bite of Wada cake. Shit, I want to see if your sis Kali can cook as good as she can type at that laptop.”
“Hey, chump, baby girl can throw down. Let’s see if you can do something else but whine, a’ight.”
“I can help fix that SIMMS inventory and Logistics section that seems to be acting up . . . I mean, if we cool now.”
“Li’l homie? We were good when my cousin signed her sig on the dotted line. So, a’ight, I’ll type. You tell me what to do, okay.”
“Yeah?”
“You good with finances? We got some backed-up shit in the system too.”
“Yeah, man. Double major in accounting.”
“Word? Ahh, yeah, welcome to the family, man. Kali will mark your Society papers and make it official. We’ll do the tests to see what gifts you got. And stop picking your damn hands, homie. That shit is gross.”
“Sorry.”
Sanna stumbled against Khamun’s back as he laughed and pulled her to him, his arm wrapping around her.
“This shit is hilarious. We got to get to him a ‘heal him up good.’” Khamun chuckled.
Sanna blushed, and he kissed her cheeks then pointed to the bobbing light. “It’s taking us to the cellars, so I’m thinking it’s leading us to the compound, baby.”
“Oh, really, this is how you get to it?” Looking around, she saw bottles of wine, dried meat, cheese, and even documents. It looked like something that belonged in Italy or Spain. It was very spacious and cool-feeling.
“Stay close to me to keep warm, baby.”
Sanna didn’t have a problem with that at all as she hooked her arm with his and matched his long strides. She memorized everything as he placed a hand against a stone wall and watched it move. Darkness took them over, and she felt something brush against her backside, slightly going in circles before pinching, causing her to raise an eyebrow.
Khamun smiled in the dark cellar, reaching around her to turn on a light. He could clearly see in the dark, but he knew she was still learning about her awaken
ing body, so he turned the lights on, out of respect.
Sanna couldn’t help herself as she reached out and studied the beauty of the murals that decorated the wall. Before her was the history of the Nephilim race. Well, some of it. Pieces seemed to be missing, and it itched at her mind that parts were lost.
Running a hand over the alternate mosaic then paints, she stopped, deep in the cellar and stared. Chipped tiles mixed with intricate paint and decades of dirt and dust seemed to cover a majority of the scene.
An angel blanketed in light and darkness seemed to hold a blazing sword as the glowing hand of a woman touched him. She frowned because the pair was either covered in muck or missing tiles.
“Khamun, what is this?” she said, tracing the painting, feeling faint power under its covered surface.
She felt him stand behind her, his warmth comforting her as he studied the scene. The glowing light seemed to hover over them as their fingers ran over the smooth ridges.
“This is the older section. Pops use to take me down here and share all he knew.”
Reaching over her, his large hand covered hers then moved to trace over the cool surface. “I remember this. I used to play right under this area. The ages deteriorated it. It’s so much crap on it that Pop tired of trying to restore it.”
Khamun’s voice softened with the memories. “Yeah. This spot always drew me to it. I wanted to be him. That soldier with the sword. Pops couldn’t tell me the full story, but I know this story extended for a while in the tunnels. I almost got lost trying to read it all as a kid.”
Sanna looked up at Khamun as she spoke, “Oh . . . well, maybe you can fix it. I don’t know. We can go now.” A crease formed between her brows as she studied his face. He seemed to be engrossed in the images that peeked through.
She rested a hand on his bicep, and his power hit her in her gut, making her own sing while she exhaled with a shake and a backward step.
“Something is here,” they both said then shook it off.
