BENNETT
In a stunning pair of tight jeans, a white blouse, and a pink cardigan my wife is ready for a date night with her friends. “Fuck, how did I get so lucky to have such a gorgeous wife?” I grab her and hold her in my arms. “The same way I got so lucky to have a handsome and sexy husband who loves me dressed up and in sweats,” she grins and I can’t hold out kissing her.
When my lips touch hers, even five years later, I still feel fireworks bursting. Lucky to have her in my life every day, lucky she gave me two great children, I let her know every day how much I love her, not just with words but little surprises on a daily. Whether it be dinner, flowers, cleaning up, presents, I want her to never forget she’s my number one.
She’s the one I waited for. She’s the one that’s meant to be with me and I’m meant to be with her forever!
“I can’t believe this,’ I mumble as we make our way to the table at the Husk in Nashville. Jenna is in front of me and doesn’t realize what I just said as she greets her friend Sarah with a loving hug. “I’d like you to meet.” But gets interrupted by Jenna, “Noah,” and I just sit back and wait.
(COME ON – you know you saw that coming)
Sarah and Noah seem to be in a great place in their relationship. He doesn’t take his eyes off her when she’s talking, her eyes twinkle when they talk about how they met, and not once has he made a smart remark about Jenna or even looked at her with such as an interest.
“Yeah, we met off one of those online dating apps, but somehow clicked right off the bat over little things. I had to meet her and I kept trying to convince her we should meet. It took forever to finally get her number,” Noah places his arms around her. “Because I don’t meet strangers off the Internet,” Sarah squeezes his cheek, “but you were so persistent, so sure of yourself. How do you two know each other?” Sarah is curious as the three of us look at each other.
“It’s a long story,” I finally answer for all of us.
“We have time,” Sarah smiles as the rest of us laugh.
“Longer than a dinner conversation, I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow when you bring Melina over to play with Jacob,” Jenna smiles.
It seems life has gone on for the three of us in the most precious way. Noah finally found the one to be with, someone that fills his heart. Jenna and I are busy loving the family we’ve created.
It couldn’t get any better than this.
THE END
Thank you to the exceptional Jenny Wootton for being there for me while writing this story, for giving it the first look over, for your friendship and being the best person out there this reader’s world deserves.
Thank you to Dianela Evarts for yet again another amazing blurb. And of course your friendship and love.
Thank you to all romance authors for never giving up and supporting each other. We really need to count on one another and believing we can all achieve the same goal together with pride.
Thank you to all readers for taking a story for what it is and imagining it the way you desire. These characters can be envisioned any way you’d like. Let your imagination take you away!
Thank you to my family for giving me the time to create the stories that float through my head. When you see something, write it down. Let your thoughts take you to unknown places. Let your mind wander. Create. Dream. Hope.
