Targeted: Newlywed Navy Seals Risk It All! (Truth and Lies Series Book 1) Page 7

by Pinki Parks

“I can’t live like this always walking around on eggshells waiting for the other shoe to drop. The world is burning and nobody can smell the smoke. This is our little corner of paradise and I would like to keep it that way. I live and breathe the beauty of Guam. It makes me sick to think this drama is giving this place a black eye.” There wasn’t much action on the island.

“You can’t think like that. Bentley is depending on you and you need to be strong. She’s going to come through those doors hell bent on making these people pay. I have no doubt about that at all. I would like to have something to report to her, but that’s not up to me. We have to wait until the Viper gets back to us. Patience has never been one of your strong suits.” Victor reminded me of my flaws and how they were twisting me up in knots inside.

“I like to have things wrapped up in a tight little bow. I can’t act without having a target to go after. I probably shouldn’t have gotten married, but I couldn’t take the risk of losing her to another. She is that important to me. I know what it sounds like coming out of my mouth.” She could be used by any enemy wanting to take a bite out of me.

“Come on, bro. You know she can handle herself. You married a tough, kickass, gorgeous Russian. You can take that to the bank.” It was good to know that somebody else saw what I saw every time I woke up in the morning and closed my eyes at night.

“Half Russian. I know that she can withstand anything, but it only takes one time to fall victim. I’ve seen friends tough as nails get taken out from long range without even seeing the eyes of their enemy.” It was the reason why I was more comfortable in a face to face scenario.

“Hold that thought for one moment. I’m getting an anonymous e-mail. It’s from Penelope AKA the Viper. She has found something quite disturbing. The IP address for where that contract came from is being bounced around the globe 10 times over. She verified it came from a private plane. The plane is part of a charter service, not more than a few clicks away from here.” The answer to all of this was waiting to taxi down the runway when it was given clearance to do so.

“You’re going to have to stake out the place. I can’t leave here without her. I’m anxious all the time and I jump at every little noise. I will feel better when I know that she’s safe.” I was seriously worried about her. She was knocked out and lying in a hospital bed on her wedding day.

She was part of my heart and without her; I was breaking apart piece by piece.

“This is a small window of opportunity. The chance of this coming around again is slim to none. The plane has been chartered by a conglomerate with many subsidiaries. Penelope has already verified several different shell companies. We miss this chance and we may never get one again.” I wanted to tell him that he was wrong, but I knew deep down he was right.

“The plane isn’t scheduled to leave for another hour. We have to stay until the last second. I won’t leave her alone again. We do this together or we don’t do it at all. I won’t make the same mistake about splitting up. I didn’t know how much it was going to hurt to wonder if she was alive or dead. I might put on a brave face, but I’m dying inside.” I was doing last minute calculations in my head to determine when the last second was going to be.

“There’s no time like the present to strike. Somebody is playing with our lives and we can’t stand around with our thumbs in our ass. She would be the first one to tell you that the mission was the only thing that mattered. What do you think that she would say if she was standing right in front of us right now?” I could hear her voice stubborn to a fault ready to rush in without a semblance of a plan.

“What the hell are we waiting for?” We jumped like startled girls with my wife purposely sneaking up on us to get the upper hand.

  Chapter 13

  Bentley

“How the hell did you get in here without us hearing you?” Victor had his hand to his heart and he sat down with a rush of air coming out of his lungs.

“It was child’s play to avoid those traps you set up. I’m afraid the two of you might be going soft. It happens with age. Performance anxiety is a real issue. You might want to talk to a doctor about that. They have different medications and treatments.” I was having a bit of fun with them, trying to hide the fact that I was relieved and happy to see them.

“I’m not going to justify that with a response. I told him that you were strong enough to face any obstacle. It appears that you got the message he wrote in the mirror. There’s no time to waste. Pack up what you need and carry very little with you. I will go and get the car ready giving you a little privacy. This might be a good time to find out if he can be a 5-minute wonder.” Victor couldn’t have known the impossibility of his statement.

“It looks like you two have weathered the storm. Quite a mess back a the safehouse.” I saw a few weapons and made a conscious effort to have a few interesting surprises on me in case they were needed.

“I wouldn’t be anywhere else.” Victor gave me a heartfelt hug and I returned it with the same intensity.

He was barely out the door a few seconds before Pride had his hands wrapped around me with his large bicep hugging my cheek. We didn’t say anything and was quite content in each other’s embrace.

“I had to believe that you were coming home to me. I didn’t want to think about the alternative. This lead might be a wild goose chase, but we don’t have any others to track down. Keep your head on a swivel.” Pride was a beast and could intimidate by standing quietly with his eyes narrowed in suspicion.

“Your prisoner got the jump on me. He found your message, but without any context, he wasn’t able to make much of it. He thought correctly that I was going to show up and I did. I don’t feel very good about what happened next.” I remembered how his face looked when he plummeted into the basement firing his gun instinctively into the ceiling until the chamber was empty. A couple of rebars poked out of his torso. He died in seconds.

“You did what you had to in the moment. I wish that I could go back and change the circumstances. In hindsight, I probably should have killed him, but you are becoming a bad influence on me.” Pride was a lethal weapon.

“He wasn’t buying that I didn’t know what the message was about. I didn’t give him the chance to extract that information. I saw how the explosion had affected the floor. The fire was unforgiving and exposed a weakness I capitalized on. I made a calculated risk and it paid off.” My weight hadn’t broken the thin membrane of the floor, but the prisoner was heavier.

“Bentley, I’m proud of you and I don’t think that I could have done better.”

I was thrilled with my accomplishments and his love gave me the courage to persevere through the worst of it.

Natural selection had made it possible for us to fight on a level that most people wouldn’t have been able to do in civilian clothes. They would have been frozen by their own fear leaving them subject to the whims of others. We were the picture postcard for recruitment in the military.

“I didn’t stick around to make sure that he was dead. Let’s say for argument’s sake that he did survive. I doubt seriously he’s going to be in any shape to come after you. I would slink back to Russia with my tail between my legs. They do live by the sword and die by the sword.” There wasn’t time to consummate our marriage, but this closeness made me feel like we were on the same page.

“I don’t really care about anything at the moment other than the feel of you in my hands. It’s that tangible quality that makes me believe that everything is going to be perfectly fine.” His fingers were linked together around my waist and I could feel the heated column of his flesh pressing up against me from behind.

“I wish we had time, but you’re not the type for a quickie. I’m not opposed to the idea, but it makes me feel special to know that you want to take your time to show me some romance.” He was touching the back of my neck with the tip of his tongue to send all the right signals to throughout my body.

  “I may not w
ant the main course, but a little nibble for an appetizer might satisfy me for the time being.” I knew what he was referring to.

I giggled with the brush of his stubble on the back of my neck.

“You keep doing that and all bets are off.” He was nestled tight between my buns with the friction to give him some kind of relief.

“I think it might be time to show you my secret talent. If you would please step into my office, I will show you what I mean. Victor can wait a few moments longer. I have this hunger that needs to be satiated. Do you think there are any volunteers?” I shyly raised my hand as if I was crying for attention from the teacher at the blackboard.

“I might know somebody that can be convinced.” He lifted me onto the dining room table and helped me to pull off my tight pants.

My underwear was stuck to me like glue and he had to peel them off. My legs were dangling over the side of the table with the feel of his fingers running along the inside of my legs. It was highly addictive to see the smile beaming on his face. He spread me open and stared at me bewildered by the beauty in front of him.

“You look at me the same way every time we are together. It’s almost as if you don’t believe I would give you the time of day. The gentle touch and the force of your conviction are hard to ignore.” I felt like I was one of the stars in the sky blinking on and off getting ready to stream across the sky in a sparkling display of pleasure.

The light kisses moving steadily closer to the object of his affection was making it hard to sit still. I squirmed on the table with this sense of overwhelming expectation in my heart. He steadily approached like the crocodile with its eyes open and its mouth parted to devour anything in its path.

“I don’t actually know what this look is you’re talking about. I will say that I feel like the luckiest man in the world to be with you. A man should be so lucky to find the woman they’re going to spend the rest of their life with.” Those kisses were getting a little deeper and the telltale sign of his arousal was blazing in his eyes.

Some would think of the ring on their finger to be a curse, but I was more inclined to believe it was a blessing. It was a symbol of our fidelity and the love we shared in front of our friends and family.

The tip of his tongue trailed along my sensitive skin. His patience was being rewarded by how I was dripping like a faucet. The proof of my excitement ran in a lazy river down the inside of my thighs. His tongue came in contact and captured it before it was able to get away. It was easy to see his secret weapon was the music he was playing with his mouth.

Pride was giving me a brief glimpse of what it was going to be like on our honeymoon. He was in no hurry to satisfy his own needs giving him points for good behavior.

My jaw tensed with my mouth open to digest what he was about to do. He was depraved and wanton with his desire. He grabbed my perky little ass in both hands pulling me to the edge of the table.

I was a fertile young woman in the prime of my life and he was touching with experience those areas of my body demanding satisfaction. He was turning me into a whimpering puddle. I barely had one eye open.

“I want you inside me. God! I wish we had more time. We’ve got to take a longer honeymoon.” I swallowed trying to force myself not to tremble to his touch.

He was staring at me like I was the last meal he was ever going to have. I could see the fierceness in his eyes. The light flicks of his tongue were pushing me to the boiling point. I jumped a little bit with my ass slapping down on top of the table and his hands at the same time.

There was this nagging voice in the back of my head. My head was swimming with whispered words of encouragement that slipped from my mouth.

“I guess we still can find ways to surprise each other.” My voice was dripping sex forcing him to fill me with the fat surface of his tongue.

I could feel the pulsing beacon buried with one thrust. My breath got caught in my throat. I was in too deep and I was going under quickly drowning in a sea of pleasure. I was hissing between my teeth which only encouraged his complete domination of my body. I was suddenly arching my hips to meet him in a feast for his senses.

His lips were searing against my sex with his tongue forging like steel. I was climbing higher on the wings of his love. It was my illicit fantasy from the moment we met to be taken until I surrendered my body to the hunger in his eyes. His demanding lips were more than I could take with my head pounding and my chest rising and falling with each breath.

“You’ve done it now.” My eyes fluttered with the heat of his hot tongue driving me out of my mind.

I was like a rubber band snapped taut, stretching my legs in the air with my toes pointed to the ceiling. The orgasm was a mind-numbing that left me lifeless and drained lying underneath his determined gaze. The swollen evidence of his need for me was going to be left denied its right to be satisfied on the same scale.

“I hope that was as good for you as it was for me.” I smiled sweetly, touching his cheek and letting him feel that his efforts were appreciated.

“I’m going to have to keep myself distracted until we are able to properly celebrate our nuptials. My body yearns for the feel of your lips. We both want the same thing. It’s not going to happen right now…no matter how much we want it.”

I didn’t think that I would’ve had the willpower to resist in his shoes.

“I will always learn the hard way that you are better than other men. The scene you created would have left most men anxious and unable to put it away for a rainy day.” He helped me to my feet and gave me a hand to put my pants back on.

We heard the honking of the horn and how Victor was getting a little impatient. I wanted my beloved to feel the same thing I did. It seemed the image of me writhing in passion gave him a voyeuristic thrill.

“I guess I’m a little different about what does it for me. A woman moaning and twisting is a pleasing sight and sound to me. It’s a guilty pleasure that I won’t apologize for. My desire builds from seeing a woman letting me claim her body. The tease of what is to come keeps me on the edge.” It was interesting the way that he described it.

I had found everything in one package with one man. I was the luckiest woman alive.

  Chapter 14

  Pride

I followed from behind drinking in her lovely curves and the way that she swayed back and forth on her feet. She stumbled and I smiled knowing, apart from everything that has happened, she was now my wife.

“I don’t even want to know what could possibly take the two of you so long. I hope you know that I was kidding about giving you time to be alone to do nasty things. I don’t even want to think about it. Damn it, now I have this vision in my head and I can’t shake it.” Victor was shaking his head and the flush of Bentley’s cheeks told me that she was a little bit embarrassed.

“Don’t be such a little boy. It’s perfectly natural. You’ll know what this feels like when you find the woman that you can’t live without.” I never thought it was going to happen to me, but Bentley had turned my head like no other woman had ever been able to do.

“It’s not appropriate to talk about me like that. I would rather not tell your mother about this. I’m sure she wouldn’t be very happy about you making obscene comments about me. I’m innocent in her eyes. What she doesn’t know doesn’t hurt her.” Her mother really did believe that Bentley had saved herself for marriage.

The car was idling at the curb and Victor wasn’t standing on ceremony. He got in and held the steering wheel with both hands ready to run every red light to catch our prize before it was Airborne. I settled in and strapped my seat belt on.

“You don’t give my mother enough credit. Pride can testify that she pretends to be naïve, but she knows more than she lets on. Keep that in mind when you’re trying to pull the wool over her eyes.” Victor was playing on Bentley’s insecurities.

We were buckled in and driving in a mad rush with the horse power under the hood pushing u
s faster toward our destination.

“I will remember that. Somebody should have told me. I didn’t think she would be comfortable talking about my love life. There’s time to rectify that in the near future. We have far more things to worry about than what your mother thinks about me.” I couldn’t argue her point.

“She loves you the way you are. You’re letting what my brother tells you get underneath your skin. He likes to play games. It’s better not to indulge him. He gets a sick thrill out of playing God with people’s lives.” I was waiting for some kind of rebuttal from Victor, but nothing came.

“I don’t want to alarm you, but I can’t seem to slow down. I’m pumping the brakes and there’s nothing there.” The color went from his face and he was white knuckling the wheel. This wasn’t good.

“This is no time for one of your practical jokes. Slow down before you get us killed.” The skill that it took for him to keep an impassioned expression on his face was quite remarkable.

“I’m not kidding. We’re barreling down this desolate road with the rocks on one side and a deep chasm on the other. I can try to slow us down by slamming into the guardrail, but I’m afraid at this speed that we will go right through.” It was terrifying to see the way that he was looking at me in the mirror and then back at the road.

“You’re starting to scare me back here.” Bentley had her hands on the seat with her body pushed up to the edge of the seat.

Victor was having a hard time keeping the car on the road sliding along the shoulder and sending a spray of rocks and dirt into the air.

I could hear them pinging against the undercarriage.

The door scraped against the guardrail showering the car in sparks. It was nerve-wracking. I couldn’t do much other than being a spectator in a sport that I didn’t want to be a part of.

“We’re moving way too fast for these kinds of twists and turns in the road.” I was staring straight ahead trying to remain calm.
