In the Billionaires Club Page 7

by Burroughs, Anne

“He actually had a very nice dick.”

“You’ll find a better one. Now go punch some pillows or something and get back on your feet.”

  “Love you, Lisa.”

“You, too, Gin. Be strong. Love will surprise you. Just remember that.”

Gin placed the phone back on the dresser. A billionaire will be a tough surprise to top, she thought.

  chapter twelve

Gin held up the cards in front of Lisa’s face. “What do you think? If Phillip’s there he’ll be totally shocked, as he doesn’t know I have the cards, and I can just strut by without even acknowledging him. It will totally piss him off.”

The two of them were at a strip mall cafe near Gin’s apartment. Lisa had arrived in grand style, spending a good five minutes raging about men, rich douchebags, and billionaires with tiny dicks. Gin let Lisa vent, and she had to admit it made her feel better.

The previous two days were tough, and it wasn’t until that morning that she was really able to grasp what was wrong. After all, she had only known Phillip for a week. Why should she be as devastated as if they were dating for years? The answer, of course, was that he was rich. She wasn’t grieving over Phillip. She was grieving over the idea of Phillip.

Gin was quite proud of her ability to examine her feelings objectively. The interesting thing was that it opened her up to an odd kind of shallow hope. Why couldn’t she win over another billionaire? The previous time she was in the Billionaires Club, every man in the room stared at her walking through. And here she was with a card to that very club.

And if she didn’t find someone during the next visit? Well, she was sure that Rich would give her another card. She was a kindred spirit with the two blue collar working class bartenders. She’d hang out with the single billionaires and if that eventually didn’t work out? Well, Lisa was right: She’d find love. It’s just that she really wanted to find love with a billionaire.

She only felt a little guilty at her shallow desire.

Lisa grabbed one of the cards and looked at it. “How’d you get two cards to the Club?”

“The bartender is a nice guy named Rich, and he gave me two. Which reminds me, I want to introduce you to this guy I met. He’s around our age, and he’s fucking gorgeous. He’s single, too. I don’t think I told you about him. His name is Vinnie.”

  “Wait. Vinnie. The alcoholic bartender?”

“Oh, I did tell you about him.” Gin backpedaled, worrying that her matchmaking was already doomed. “He’s not an alcoholic. I was just kidding. You just have to meet him. Please trust me. He’s smart and funny and hot.”

“So, let me get this straight. We’re going to the Billionaires Club, and you’re setting me up with the bartender.”

“Jesus, Lisa. Just give him a chance.”

“Fine, but if some hot Billionaire is standing all alone, I reserve the right to upgrade.”

  Gin rolled her eyes. “Tomorrow?”

  “Hell yeah.”

That night, Gin couldn’t help it but think about Vinnie. She wanted to set him up with Lisa, but the more she considered it the more it felt like a mistake. She liked Vinnie just the way he was, sitting in his chair always there for her to talk to. Would Lisa ruin that?

More than that, however, she knew that she was attracted to him. She was obviously drawn to his personality—he was just so fun to be around—but she couldn’t deny that he was also gorgeous. She tried to dismiss such thoughts—she had dated enough bartenders in her day—but as she lay in bed she kept picturing herself alone with Vinnie.

Stop it, she thought. Don’t waste your time. He’s just a bartender. But her fingers were already sliding into her pussy as she pictured the Billionaires Club being empty and then Vinnie surprising her. It was a completely ridiculous and unrealistic fantasy, but it was also incredibly hot.

She’d be leaning against the bar, drinking a rum and Coke, and then he would shove her toward the bar and lift her miniskirt from behind. Oh God, this is really hot, Gin thought as she grabbed her Magic Wand vibrator. As she slid it between her legs she pictured Vinnie’s face, his dimples smiling in anticipation of a hard fuck.

With her bent over the bar, she’d look over her shoulder and see his gorgeous eyes staring at her as his hands slid around and caressed her tits as his cock pressed inside her. Vinnie would then just take her right there, and as she pictured him fucking her against the bar the vibrator caressed her clit into a strong orgasm.

Gin was wired with receding waves of pleasure as she imagined Vinnie sliding out of her and holding her, hugging her from behind and kissing her neck. It was a fantasy she loved—Vinnie taking her as he gave into his raw primal passion and then holding her afterward in an intimate moment.

In her past, Gin had masturbated about a lot of guys she had no interest in dating or having sex with. This is just another one of those, Gin told herself as she rolled onto her side in her bed. She’d definitely fuck Vinnie again, only she would do it while alone.

Gin had decided to spend the time as Lisa’s wingman, so she toned down her outfit, a classy and demure combination Jules put together of khaki capris and a loose white cotton blouse. The only thing provocative about the blouse was that it was thin cotton, and in the right lighting it was kind of see-through. In the dim lighting of the Billionaires Club, however, that wouldn’t be a problem.

As she pulled up to Lisa’s apartment, Gin’s jaw dropped. Lisa was wearing a bright red silk top that was completely backless and tied around her neck and waist. The front was loose fitting and barely covered Lisa’s tits. She paired it with a black lycra miniskirt that was short enough to expose the lower part of her ass.

“Please tell me you’re wearing underwear,” Gin said as Lisa slid into her car.

“Well, I’m not wearing a bra.” Lisa smiled.

“No shit. You may as well have gone topless with the amount of side boob you’re showing.”

Lisa smiled even wider. “The top hopefully comes off later.”

Shaking her head, Gin replied, “Well, I applaud your confidence.”

They walked toward the club, and Lisa peppered Gin with last second questions. As they opened the front door, Gin finally had enough. “It’s just a bar, Lisa. Seriously. Just be yourself. You always have guys falling all over you. It will be no different here.”

Lisa nodded as they approached Dave. “Hi Dave. This is Lisa, and she’ll be joining me tonight.” Gin handed the two cards to Dave.

“Nice to meet you, Lisa.” He looked at the cards closely under the light at his podium. He then dropped them into the card slot, looked up, and smiled. “I hope you enjoy your visit, Lisa.”

He held the door open, and the two walked into the Billionaires Club.

“There’s Vinnie,” Gin said, her heart leapt at seeing him. She hadn’t realized she was nervous that he wouldn’t be there. She walked over and sat down two chairs over. He glanced up and smiled when he saw it was Gin.

“Gin!” He glanced at her outfit. “Not a Versace occasion, I take it.” Lisa slid into the chair between Gin and Vinnie. Vinnie looked at Lisa. “Not Versace either, but definitely has the classy slut vibe.”

“Excuse me?” Lisa turned to look at Vinnie, anger on her face.

Gin grabbed Lisa’s arm. “He’s just kidding! We were joking about designers having classy slut-type dresses now. That was just Vinnie’s eccentric way of complimenting you.” Gin glared at Vinnie. “Right, Vinnie? You were complimenting my friend here, Lisa.”

“Oh, yeah.” Vinnie nodded slightly. “Nice to meet you Lisa. Your outfit is stunning. Really.” Vinnie nodded over his shoulder. “You’ll be a big hit.”

Lisa looked out into the room. “Really? You think so?”

Gin caught Vinnie rolling his eyes. “Rich, you lazy fuck. These two ladies need drinks,” Vinnie yelled out. Rich was at the other end of the bar serving two other women, both of whom were in business outfits and, while pretty, looked more like members than single women looking for a
guy.

Rich flipped Vinnie off but soon walked over. Halfway down the the bar a man pulled him over and talked to him. Rich nodded and then continued to their spot at the end of the bar. He ignored Vinnie and looked at Lisa. “Mister Abrams would like to buy you a drink.” Rich nodded down the bar, where a really young looking guy in a suit held up a drink and smiled.

“I thought this was an open bar,” Gin stated.

“Shut up, Gin. The young man over there has bought me a drink,” Lisa replied. She looked at Rich. “Tell the young man I’d like a screwdriver and that I will be joining him shortly.”

Rich nodded and slid a rum and Coke toward Gin, which he had made while Lisa was talking. As he walked back down the bar, Vinnie spoke up. “Billy is kind of innocent and sad.” He looked at Lisa, practically staring at her tits as he spoke, “You’ll eat him alive.”

Lisa laughed. “That’s all I need to hear.” She stood up and walked down the bar. Gin slid over to the chair next to Vinnie.

Gin tapped Vinnie’s glass with hers and took a long drink. Vinnie looked at her but didn’t say anything. Gin put the now half empty glass down. “Phillip dumped me.”

  “I know,” Vinnie said.

  “Did he tell you?”

Vinnie shook his head. “I figured when he walked in with the blonde over there that you two were over.” Gin spun around and looked out on Phillip, who was at a table with his two buddies, Scott and Glenn. A tall blonde woman, who looked like a fashion model, stood next to him with her hand resting on his thigh.

  “That poor girl.”

Vinnie shrugged. “Unlike you, I’m pretty sure she knows what she’s getting into.”

Gin felt a surge of anger, but she took a deep breath. Vinnie wasn’t a jerk. He just called it like he saw it, and he ultimately wished the best for her. “So was I an idiot or what?” She sighed.

Vinnie turned quickly and faced her. “No. Why would you say that? You were sincere and gave Phillip a chance. That it turned out he didn’t deserve one had nothing to do with you.” Vinnie turned back to his drink, which he emptied.

  “Thanks, Vin.”

Vinnie smiled. “Very few people call me Vin. It sounds good coming from your mouth.”

“Gin and Vin. Two sad people in the Billionaires Club.” Vin looked over, and then smiled as he looked past Gin.

“Well, Lisa certainly is making progress.”

Gin glanced over. Lisa was laughing, and Gin cringed. As Lisa laughed, her tits bounced, totally exposing them to anyone looking at her from the side, like the Abrams guy, who was practically leaning in his chair to get a better look. On the other hand, the young man looked completely rapt in her display of personality and sexual provocation.

Turning back to Vinnie, she asked, “Is he going to break her heart?”

“Billy? Nah. I doubt he’ll commit to her, but who knows? He’s a good kid. He’s just paranoid about women and his money.” Vinnie absent-mindedly slid his glass around the bar. “Which is smart, actually.”

  “Is he rich?”

“Depends on how you define rich.”

“How do you define rich, Vin?”

“Me?” Vin turned and looked deeply into Gin’s eyes. “Doing what you want when you want. Wearing what you want, and hanging out with the people you want to hang out with.” He shrugged. “It’s not complicated.”

“Sounds like you’re rich.” Gin pushed her shoulder into Vin’s.

“Yeah. I have so much freedom I don’t know what to do with my money.” His voice sounded a little bitter. “Rich, my drink is empty again. I swear you are doing this on purpose, you bastard.”

Gin laughed. She loved spending time with Vin. He was goofy and sad, but also engaging and funny. He was incredibly hot, but he smelled like bourbon and wore the same clothes every day. At least they were clean. “I like hanging out with you, Vin.”

He looked at her with a quizzical look on his face. “I enjoy your company, too, Gin.” Rich filled his glass. “Hey, Rich. It looks like Billy is going to take care of Lisa. Can you get Gin a few cards?” Rich didn’t even question his colleague, but walked over and came back with three cards, which he handed to Gin.

“There you go. Now you can come see me whenever you like.”

“Why that was almost romantic, Vin.”

He snorted, but didn’t reply. “So Billy is Abrams’ first name?”

“Yeah. Sorry. He hates being called Billy. Thinks having everyone address him by his last name makes him sound more important.” Vin took a sip of his drink. “Idiot.”

“So you never answered my question. Is Billy rich?”

Vin shrugged. “He’s probably worth fifty mil or so. Needs to wait for his lockup period to end first, though, so he’s living on ramen somewhere in San Jose. I think he’ll have the goods in like three months, though. So your friend is getting in on the ground floor. Smart move.” Vin didn’t sound impressed.

“Be nice. She’s a good person. She just hasn’t had a break her whole life. I bet she’d make Billy really happy.”

“Oh, I can tell from this angle very clearly that she’d make just about any guy really happy.”

  “Don’t be a jerk.”

Vin sighed, turned, and looked at Gin. “I guess I just see way too much bargaining over sex and love here, Gin.” He ran his hand through his hair, and all Gin could think about was that the best-looking guy in the room was the loser alcoholic bartender. “So I’m probably not the best guy to ask about Billy or Lisa or how the two of them will work out.” He grabbed his drink and turned away. “I’m perhaps too cynical to be good long-term company either.”

“Okay, I’m going to leave, but it’s not because you’re not good long-term company. You shouldn’t talk that way. You’re the nicest and most real guy in the entire room.” She stood up and leaned toward him. “I’m going to tell Lisa that I’m abandoning her. That will make Billy have to take care of her in some way.”

“Remind me not to share with you that I’m single. I’d be afraid of what nefarious matchmaking plans you’d have for me.”

“Don’t worry. Your secret is safe with me.” Gin grabbed Vin’s drink and emptied it. The bourbon burned her mouth and throat, and she coughed. Vin looked at her, his eyes wide, but before he could say anything, Gin raised her voice. “Rich, Vinnie’s drink is empty yet again. Do you actually do anything back there?”

Rich looked down, smiled widely, and gave her the finger.

“Gin. I think I may have just fallen in love with you.”

“I bet you say that to every girl who fills your empty glass.”

Vin smiled but didn’t look back at her. “Yeah, you’re probably right.”

Gin glanced over at Phillip. She didn’t know if he had seen her at all, and she didn’t care. The blonde woman was his next conquest, but she didn’t seem to mind.

You’re smarter than me, Gin thought. But I’m learning. Oh yes, I’m learning.

Gin said goodbye to Lisa and Billy. Neither seemed to mind that Lisa was now Billy’s responsibility.

  chapter thirteen

Gin had a half day due to an offsite meeting at work, so she decided to visit Vin at the Billionaires Club in the early afternoon. She planned on relentlessly abusing him while he worked behind the bar, the same way that he abused Rich at night. It would be hilarious, and she was certain Vin would love it.

It was a different man up front, but he was similarly huge, imposingly tall, and all muscle. He was bald and scowled at Gin. He wasn’t reading a book. She handed him the card, and he peered at it a long time before waving her in. He didn’t say a word, and Gin didn’t bother asking his name.

She stared at the bar as she entered, but Vin wasn’t bartending. It was an old man wearing an outfit that wouldn’t have been out of place at a saloon in the 1800s. She paused trying to make sense of what was going on, but then it clicked. Of course. He’s the overnight bartender. I assumed he was hanging out after his shift ended. He was hanging out
before his shift started.

Taking a deep breath, Gin looked around the room. She was certain that Phillip wouldn’t be there, but she wanted to make sure. The room was fairly empty, with a few groups of men chatting over drinks, and a couple sitting in a booth having an intimate conversation. A few lone men sat at the bar.

Gin walked over and sat in the seat next to the one Vin normally used. It just wouldn’t have felt right sitting in his seat. The bartender approached with a big smile.

“You’re new.” He said it emphatically. “I never forget a face, especially one as pretty as yours.” He winked. “I’m Martin.” Martin held out his hand.

“Hi Martin. I’m Gin. I’m actually not that new. I just usually come at night. Rich takes care of me.” She shook his hand.

“Gin. Now that’s a name any bartender would love.” Gin suppressed the desire to roll her eyes. “I’m glad Rich takes care of you. He’s a fine young man. So what can I get for you?”

“A rum and Coke would be great.”

  “Coming right up.”

As Martin prepared her drink, Gin said, “I guess Vin works late.”

  “Vin?”

“I’m sorry. Vinnie. I usually see him at night.”

“Vinnie! I love Vinnie.” Martin had a big smile as he handed Gin her drink. “He’s definitely a 24/7 kid. I keep telling him to go home and relax, but what can I do? I’m not his father.”

“Yeah, I know a lot of people like that. It seems to be a requirement if you live in Silicon Valley.”

Martin nodded. “Pardon me, Gin. Duty calls.” A man at the end of the bar had raised his glass. Gin hadn’t even noticed. Martin had an eagle eye for empty glasses. Unlike Rich, Gin thought, laughing at a joke that she could only share with Vin.

“A smile while alone. I admire that.” A man stood behind her and to her left. She turned to face him. He looked like he was in his thirties. He was average height, with slightly wavy light brown hair that was combed back. While Gin was certain he was some kind of senior executive—why else would he be in the Billionaires Club—with a sports jacket and khakis instead of a suit, he looked more casual, almost like an old school movie star or a professor. “May I sit down?”
