“I don’t need time to think about it Rian.” She said through her sobs. “Of course I’ll marry you. I never stopped loving you. I love you more than life itself. ” A huge sigh escaped his lips as a smile touched his eyes. He took the ring from the velvet box he had been carrying with him for the past three years. His hands were shaking. He gently took her left hand in his and slid the ring on her finger. It was a heart shaped diamond 1 carrot in a 24 carrot gold setting with a fine Celtic knot that wound around the band and met the hands that held the setting on either side of the diamond with a regal crown at the top of the stone.

Kareena held up her hand to display the most precious gift that she had ever received. “It’s ….. just so beautiful, Rian.” She said as the tears threatened again. “Do you know what the Claddagh and Celtic knot symbolize Kareena?” Rian asked as he held her hand and inclined his head in the direction of the ring.” “No …. I don’t, …. please tell me Rian?” She whispered.

He smiled and spoke softly as he drew her to him and held her hand up for them both to see. “The hands symbolize Friendship, the Heart … Love, the Crown … Loyalty and the Celtic knot … eternity. And that is how long I want us to be together. For all eternity Kareena, … for all eternity.”

Kareena thought she would die, she had never been so happy. They took each other in a warm longing embrace and sealed his proposal with a deep sensual kiss. Continue following Rian and Kareena in book II and III as Kareena meets her daughter for the first time, and the happy couple make their wedding plans in Ireland and face the Society head on.
