Murder Under the Bridge Page 38

by Kate Raphael

I am deeply grateful to Naomi Azriel and Jonathan Pollack for their stories about growing up in Israel and help with geography and Hebrew, as well as their thoughtful reading.

So many people read and gave feedback on all or parts of this book over so many years, I will never be able to remember and thank them all. It takes a village, or several, to produce a book. I could not have gotten through this process without the support of Arla Ertz, Arlene Eisen, Blue Murov, Chaya Gordon, Daniel Ward, Deeg Gold, Deni Asnis, Dmitri Iglitzin, Elaine Beale, Erica Marcus, Erica Raphael, Hannah Mermelstein, Huwaida Arraf, Janet Reid, Jean Tepperman, Jen Angel, Judy Betts, Judith Mirkinson, Julie Starobin, Laura Petracek, Laurie Van Gelder, Lloyda French, Lisa Manning, Lorrie Sheets, Michelle Byrd, Nancy Ferreyra, Radhika Sainath, Ralowe Ti Ampu, Sasha Wright, Steve Masover, Steve Susoyev, Ted Nace, and Tory Becker. Thanks also to the members of Virtual Muse for their helpful critiques and endless efforts to demystify the changing worlds of authorship and publishing. Dunya Alwan always reminds me of the power of art.

I could not have had a better editor/coach than Elana Dykewomon, who is also a role model and inspiration. Finally, thanks to Mary DeDanan for her painstaking copy edit, mapmaker Mike Morgenfeld, Lorna Garano Publicity, and to Brooke Warner and the team at SheWrites for believing in this book and bringing it to birth.
