Fix Me: Men of Sander’s Valley, book 2 Page 5

by Corrigan, Nancy

He stared at her a long moment. “We don’t need one?”

“No. You said I’m safe with you. I trust you.” She jerked on the waistband of his pants. His cock sprang free. “And I don’t want to wait.”

He’d never considered touching any other girl without one, but Iona was different. He couldn’t explain how or why. He just knew that connecting their bodies in such an intimate way was…right. And hell, he didn’t want to wait either.

He yanked his sweats off and crawled over her. The length of his erection pointed toward her. He grasped it to stop its twitching and bent closer, his mouth at her ear. “Are you sure?”

“Yes. I’m sure. I want this.” She reached between them and brushed her knuckles over his cock. “I want you.”

He lowered his hips. With his hand to guide his hard dick, he slid the tip along her slick cleft, pausing at her opening. “I’ll pull out. Okay?”

“Yes. Okay.” She clutched his shoulders and tugged him closer. The head of his penis breached her, and her body greedily squeezed and released over the crown of his cock. “Fuck me, Wyn. Fuck me hard.”

He locked his elbows, stopping himself from plunging into her. No way did he want to hurt her. She was petite. Delicate. He wasn’t. Far from it.

He kissed her and guided his straining dick into her body. Inch by inch, he parted her soft folds. Her core grasped him, massaged him, tried to pull him deep. He kept up the steady push and fought his instincts. Her tightness tempted him to move, to feel the glide of her soft muscles on his hard dick, to possess her.

  Fill her.

  Own her.

Sweat beaded on his brow. He reached the end of her. She held him in a wet glove that molded to every damn inch of his cock. Heaven. She felt like heaven on earth. He broke their kiss and buried his face against her neck. The intensity of his thoughts shocked him. He wanted to tell her but couldn’t.

“Iona.” Her name, all he could manage.

She trailed her fingers up his neck and into his hair, massaging his scalp much the same way her inner muscles did to his dick. “Feels amazing. God, you fill me up.”

Her praise added to the physical pleasure she offered him. He bit the inside of his cheek before he said something he wasn’t sure he wanted to say. Eyes closed, he dragged his length through her gripping core. She gasped his name. He grinned against the tender column of her throat and set a slow pace.

He focused on the way her body accepted him, listened to her soft moans, and gave her the chance to get used to his size. More of her sweet arousal flowed, bathing his cock. Her heat lured him to stay inside her, but her clenching body demanded he move.

With one hand braced against the ground and the other holding her against his chest, he gave himself over to the lust. Each forward drive came quicker than the last. He kept up the full strokes, wanting her to feel every inch of his dick, to know how hot she made him, how hard he was for her. He wanted her as crazed as he was. She fucked him back, meeting his strokes and smacking their groins.

Harder, faster, they fell into a dance that threatened to consume him. She pressed kisses to his chest and ran her hands over his back, pulling him closer. He wanted to crawl inside her and leave his mark on her, body and soul. He ignored the emotions he’d never experienced before and focused on the act.

Tingles skipped down his spine. Every thrust intensified them. He fought his release, knowing it be the most intense he’d ever had. He didn’t want to lose the feeling being inside her brought, but she dug her nails into his ass and lifted her bottom, holding him tight inside.

Her core clamped down hard on him, strangling his dick, taking him to the brink. She cried out. He pulled her against his chest to muffle her scream.

Muscles tensed, he hung his head while she found her pleasure. Her intimate massage begged him to join her. He wanted nothing more than to let go, but without a condom, he couldn’t take the chance.

He eased back, but she locked her legs around his hips, stopping him from slipping free. He groaned. His hips jerked, pushing the head of his cock deep. His balls drew up, and seed rushed down his length. He yanked his dick free of her tight grasp a second before he exploded.

His orgasm lasted forever. He slid his hands to her lower back and held her close, wishing he were still joined with her and vowing the next time, he would be. Finally, the pressure eased. He dragged her up, his hot cum slickening their bodies, and took her mouth in a possessive kiss.

  Mine. He was keeping her.

How, he wasn’t quite sure. He didn’t know much about her, just the few things he’d learned from Kyle today. The thought didn’t stop him. He’d uncover everything there was to know about Iona Volkov. Then he’d figure out how to get his initials tattooed on the other wing of her butterfly.

  Chapter 5

Iona stared at Wyn through the wayward strands of her hair. Head bent, he focused on cleaning his release off her belly with a small towel he’d retrieved from the storage tote. Did he care for all his lovers this way? A greedy part of her wanted to be the only one. He certainly was the only man who’d done such a thing for her.

He moved the cloth lower, wiping her arousal off her thighs. His gentle strokes tore a shaky sigh from her lips.

He lifted his gaze to hers. “Are you okay?”

She nodded, maybe a little too quickly. Her mind, body, and heart were not on speaking terms at the moment. Consumed by the surge of desire and emotions that sex with Wyn had caused within her, she wanted to run from him. She might’ve too, if her legs weren’t still shaky from the best orgasm she’d ever had.

  She’d trembled for him.

  Twice.

The intensity of her releases had shocked her. She’d always loved sex, but never had she come apart for a man the way she had for Wyn.

He ruined her for other men. How would she ever be able to take another lover without remembering what it’d felt like to have Wyn’s incredible cock lodged deep inside her body? Or his big hands holding her close while he found his pleasure? It had been more intimate than anything she’d ever experienced.

He bent and kissed the top of her sex, redirecting her escalating anxiety to the living, breathing man who’d shattered her. “You’re beautiful, darling. I want to lick every inch of you.”

She wanted that too. More actually. She wanted him to cradle her against his chest and carry her to his bed. Too bad that would be the worst thing to ever happen to her.

Leading him on was cruel. For both of them.

Iona pushed into a sitting position. “I should get back before I’m missed.”

He lifted his gaze to hers, studying her from behind thick lashes no man should have. For a long moment, he didn’t say anything. She fell into his eyes. Nothing could’ve torn her away from the look of hunger in them. Finally, he dipped his chin and returned his focus to wiping away the evidence of their passion. Her lower lips tingled under his ministrations. She squirmed.

He slid his hand to her lower back and pulled her closer. “Yeah, we wouldn’t want Ronnie to find out about us. She’d likely take it upon herself to act as matchmaker. With the wedding and thoughts of family on her mind, she’ll want us married too with a baby on the way.”

Her heart skipped a beat before racing. The very thought of marriage or a child chilled her blood.

“I’m on birth control,” she blurted.

“That’s good to know.” He didn’t look at her, and his neutral tone offered no clue as to his take on their situation.

She’d told him she only wanted sex. He’d agreed, but his touch, his kisses, and the way he’d held on to her while he fucked her made her wonder if he’d lied.

He dragged her shorts up her legs and tapped on her hip. “Up, love.”

Love? She went from darling to love? Her heartbeat kicked into high gear.

Wyn raised his head. “Are you going to let me dress you, or are we staying here all night?”

She lifted her bottom. He slid her damp shorts into p
lace. On his knees in front of her, he adjusted her bra and retied her loose top as if she were the most delicate, precious thing in the world. She cut a quick look at his face. Reverence. Awe. The two powerful emotions shone in his eyes, along with stark hunger and lust. She glanced at his erection. Molded by his cotton pants, his penis stretched toward his belly button, already hard and ready to pierce her again.

  Her core quivered.

He raked his fingers through her hair, untangling the knots and smoothing her locks with strokes of his palm. Her anxiety skyrocketed. She didn’t want him to grow attached to her, nor did she want to crave him. No way would she walk that road again. She’d fallen for the sweet, adoring boyfriend routine once.

Five years she’d wasted on a guy who’d only wanted to turn her into a possession. The fact she’d believed his game all that time had stung the most.

She grasped Wyn’s wrist and tugged his hand away from her hair. “Tonight was wonderful, but I meant what I said earlier. I only wanted sex, not a relationship.”

  “Okay.”

He pushed against her shoulder, a silent request to turn around. She did, only because she wanted to see what he planned. He parted her hair into three sections and braided it. The slight tugs on her scalp connected to her heart.

She glanced over her shoulder. “What are you doing?”

“Fixing your hair so you don’t look like you just got laid.”

  “Oh.”

He draped the thick plait over her shoulder and took her hand. “I don’t have a tie, but it’ll have to do until you make it back to your room. I doubt Ronnie and Kyle are still awake anyhow.”

No, with the sexual tension that had hummed between them all evening, they were probably screwing each other’s brains out. “That’s a good idea. Thank you.”

He grunted and led her back the way they’d come. She concentrated on walking and tried to figure out what she was supposed to do next. She’d only had a handful of lovers in her life, and Dmitry was the only one she’d ever spent the night with.

After sex, he’d always immediately gone to the bathroom to clean up, disposing of the condom and showering, before coming back to bed. He’d kiss her, then roll to his side, facing away from her, and go right to sleep. That was normal. She understood her role. Spur-of-the-moment, outside sex with a man who looked like a Greek god, fucked like an animal, and touched her as if she were an angel was not something she knew how to handle.

They reached the house before she could come up with anything to say. He turned her into his arms and kissed her, taking the decision out of her hands. She opened to him. It was impossible not to accept his lead. Deep, rolling thrusts of his tongue weakened her. She clutched his biceps and gave herself up to the moment. It was one she’d never forget. She didn’t know if she liked the realization or not.

He eased back. “Sweet dreams, Iona.”

“You too.” The words came out breathy.

He turned and walked away. She followed his retreating back with her gaze. Once the shadows swallowed his tall silhouette, she slipped back inside Ronnie’s house. All quiet. Nobody stood there ready to question her absence. The thought was silly, of course. At twenty-seven, she could do whatever or whoever she wanted. Wyn was right, though. If Ronnie discovered whom Iona had fucked, there’d be no end to her new sister’s meddling.

  Chapter 6

Iona dug through her shoes the next morning. “Don’t I have anything besides heels?”

  “Sure, you have slipper socks.”

At the sound of Ronnie’s voice, Iona jumped, a hand over her mouth to stifle her gasp. Her sister stood near the open bedroom door. Iona blew out a rough breath. “You scared me.”

“I’m sorry. I wanted to see if you’d like anything for lunch.”

Iona shook her head and grabbed a pair of hiking sandals. The tan shoes had a sturdy sole but open sides formed by strips of the material crisscrossing it. They’d have to do. She slipped them on and tightened the straps. “No, thank you. Wyn is giving me a tour of the valley today. He said he’d pack a picnic basket.”

“He was already here and left. It’s two in the afternoon.”

Left? He left. Sure she’d slept in, but it wasn’t that late. “What did he say?”

Ronnie shrugged. “Nothing much. He said he’d promised to show you around, but since it seemed as if you were still tired from your trip, he’d catch you another time.”

“Catch me another time?” Iona fisted her hands. “But I got dressed as soon as I woke, and…” She snapped her mouth closed. Ronnie watched her with narrowed eyes. Iona forced her hands to unclench. If she wasn’t careful, she’d out herself. “Oh, well. Did he mention if he looked at my car?”

“No.” Ronnie crossed her arms under her breasts. “Is everything okay? You seem upset.”

Iona turned away before her sister saw the truth in her eyes. She didn’t understand her reaction. She’d told him she only wanted sex. There was no reason for the hurt settling in her heart.

She grabbed a hair tie, held it between her teeth, and braided her hair. It gave her a moment to get her emotions in order.

It was the kiss good night he’d given her. There’d been a promise in it. She knew better than to read into it. Besides, she didn’t want a boyfriend. It was too soon. She inwardly groaned at her own thoughts. What happened to never wanting another guy in her life? Wyn Sander, of course. His cock, passion, and gentle hands had tipped her carefully balanced life.

Not having him here to mess with her heart was best. She took a deep breath, secured her hair, and met her sister’s questioning eyes.

  “Why wouldn’t I be okay?”

“Oh, I don’t know.” Ronnie rolled her eyes. “Maybe it might have something to do with your mom’s mental issues? Or your ex-fiancé’s betrayal? Or how about learning you had a sister?”

“None of those are things I can control.” Iona went to Ronnie and pulled her into a hug. “And I’m thrilled I have a sister. I’m even happier to be a part of your life.” She eased back. “Thank you for making me your maid of honor and allowing me to stay in your home.”

“It’s not my house yet.” Ronnie grinned. “Soon, though. I can’t wait to be Mrs. Veronica Sander.”

Iona smiled and hoped it reached her eyes. She’d been wavering between sadness over her failed relationship and jealousy over Ronnie and Kyle’s obvious love ever since Iona had seen the two of them together.

“You’re very lucky to have Kyle in your life. I’m glad the two of you worked things out.”

It made Iona wonder if maybe Dmitry was right and they should at least talk. Each time she picked up the phone, the memory of clawing at his wrists as he held her against the wall stopped her. She knew too many women from the homeless shelters she’d volunteered at whose stories started off eerily similar to hers. With few options to help them, those women had chosen life on the streets over staying with abusive husbands. In that respect, Iona had been lucky. She’d escaped before marrying him.

“Yes, I’m glad Kyle never gave up on me. I can’t imagine my life without him.” A sheen of moisture formed over Ronnie’s eyes. She covered her belly. “I have something to tell you.”

Iona glanced from Ronnie’s hand to her face. “You’re pregnant.”

Ronnie nodded, a huge smile on her face. “Yes, but barely. I just took a test last week.”

Iona squealed and hugged Ronnie again. “I’m so happy for you.” She leaned back and stared at Ronnie with narrowed eyes. “But I know you did this on purpose.”

“Got pregnant? Of course, Kyle and I—”

“To keep me in the States.” Iona flashed her another smile, a real one. “You could’ve come up with something else, you know.”

Ronnie laughed and playfully smacked Iona’s arm. “You have an ego.”

  “A small one.”

“Will knowing I’m pregnant work to keep you here?”

Iona shrugged and walked toward the window. She took in the vall
ey and settled her gaze on Wyn’s house. Several cars were parked near it. People moved around on the deck. Guess he made other plans.

She huffed and faced Ronnie. “And what would I do? I don’t exactly have job skills applicable to life in the country. I sit on the board of directors of a bank. That’s it. When I’m not in meetings, I work out, shop, and volunteer.”

Ronnie drummed her fingers against her leg. “You could always help Abby out at the gallery.”

“Just because Daddy was an artist doesn’t mean I know anything about the art world.” Iona shook her head. “I have plenty of money. I don’t need to work, but I’d go stir-crazy here.”

“Are you considering moving to America?”

She hadn’t been until Ronnie mentioned a baby. Iona couldn’t help but feel excited. She had plenty of friends in Russia. Some even had kids, and Iona often spent time in orphanages and hospitals. She adored children, but Ronnie offered a connection Iona had never thought to have—to be an aunt. Dmitry was an only child too.

“Maybe. Even if I don’t, I can guarantee I’ll be around a lot.” Which made what she’d done with Wyn even more difficult. Unable to stop herself, she glanced over her shoulder, eager to catch a glimpse of him, but she didn’t see his tall frame among the men hanging out on his deck.

Ronnie joined her at the window and surveyed the valley. “You’d be surprised. There is a lot to do, but you don’t have to stay in Sander’s Valley. New York and Philadelphia are close. There are lots of things to do there.”

  “We’ll see.”

“Good.” Ronnie smiled, a satisfied smirk that made Iona nervous.

From the little she’d learned of her new sister, Ronnie liked challenges. She’d view getting Iona to stay as her new goal. It beat setting Iona up with Wyn, though. Actually, it would come in handy. She didn’t need anyone whispering in her ear about how amazing he was. She’d learned how much last night.

“If there’s so much to do here, what’s on the schedule for tonight?”
