Teaching him control when feeding on a human. Their pool games and bets they made on sports games. The many iconic concerts they watched live and in the front row. The two of them partied with every famous rock star known to man. They watched so much history our people made. Tragedies happen from Dr. King’s assassination to even Kennedy being killed. Woodstock, every riot and war. They had witnessed it all together.

“Duke.” He turned around and I stepped back when Linda appeared. The picture I had seen of her didn’t do her justice. The woman was beautiful.

“I have wanted to meet you for so long now. I’m so glad Andreas decided to tell you before me. He knows I can’t hold water.” I chuckled when she told a joke. Her hand wiped Duke tear.

“Don’t be mad at your dad. He was doing what made me happy, what I begged him to do. You were born Alex Andreas Washington and I loved you when you were in my belly. Continue to love and be happy. I was always with you and always will be.” Duke was speechless but when Linda hugged him, he hugged her back.

“Thank you, Annabella, continue to take care of our boys.” I smiled big at her and nodded my head as she looked at Duke one more time then disappeared. Finally done we arrived back home. Duke had tears in his eyes as he looked at Andreas.

“How long have you known?” He asked Andreas.

“Not long, right before shit went down with Robin and Faye. I wanted to tell you but I needed to know how. I swear I thought you were dead like your mother.” I tried not to cry but I couldn’t stop my tears. These two grown men who could turn into monsters from your worst nightmare were having a moment. Both had their lives changed forever. Duke looked down and chuckled while wiping his eyes.

“Damn.” He mumbled and walked over to Andreas hugging him tight. They embraced for a minute and it was beautiful. I passed Faye a tissue because she was crying like me. Grabbing her hand we left out the room to give them a minute.

“I’m glad that went beyond what I imagined.” Faye said with excitement in her tone.

“I am too, now everything is out, and we can really start new.”

“Absolutely.” I put my hand around her as a U-HAUL truck pulled in front of the mansion two down. Getting out the driver seat was a tall dark guy. Wide shoulders, athletic arms and blood sweet as a fresh pie. Me and Faye looked at each other.

“I call dibs.” I said and she shook her head.

“Hell no, I saw the truck first.”

“No way, I smelled him before the truck even got on the block.” Laughing together she called me out.

“You’re a liar---” I turned to see what she was looking at and another guy got out the back of the U-HAUL. He looked identical to the driver, twins. Our fangs popped out and we botch smiled.

“Let’s go do the neighborly thing and say hi.” I suggested and she put her arm through mine.

  “Indeed.”
