Rough Ride (Riding with Honor) Page 18

Grabbing her roughly he devoured her mouth, nipping and biting at her lower lip.

“If you undress in front of me, I’ll be inside you before you’re done. So if you don’t want everyone to hear me making love to you, let me leave first. I’ll be in the living room for a while. If you’re tired you can go to sleep. If not you can join us,” he warned, after finally releasing her.

Stepping back from her he continued to stare at her as though daring her to continue to undress. The heat that always ran between them seemed to build until she could hardly breathe. He finally turned and left the room closing the door behind him. Her legs felt like Jell-O and she sat on his bed for a moment before finally undressing and putting on his overly large shirt and sweatpants. Thank God for the drawstring on the sweatpants.

After changing she carefully folded her clothes and placed them on top of the dresser. She glanced around at his room. Several motorcycle parts lay on a small bench at the foot of his bed. A chest of drawers sat along the opposite wall of the bed. Posters of girls with overly large breasts sprawled in provocative poses over motorcycles covered every wall. A couple of the posters included him in the picture as well. Looking closer she realized one of them was recent as the bike in the picture was his. Lilly ignored the twinge of jealousy she felt and left the room turning off the light before it got the better of her.

As she made her way out of the bedroom and back towards the living room, she heard Tommy and Gretchen come through the front door. As she entered the room Gretchen sat a small backpack down in a chair and upon noticing her standing there said, “Miss Lilly! Your back! I’m glad ‘cause Uncle Bobby has been moody since you left.”

Tommy coughed and looked away as did Chuck and Dickie. Lilly fought to control the smile that threatened to emerge and said, “It’s good to be back, Gretchen. Edna said to send you on back to her bedroom when you arrived.”

Grabbing up her bag, Gretchen ran out of the living room and several seconds later a door closed back the hallway.

“Everything’s all locked up at the shop but they are making an even worse mess trying to collect the evidence I think,” Tommy said.

“I wasn’t moody,” Bobby said before pulling her into his lap. His intimidating scowl covered his face and she couldn’t resist leaning in and kissing the corner of his mouth. After a couple of seconds he nuzzled the side of her face and whispered in her ear, “Keep it up and watch what happens.” Lilly could feel him harden beneath her bottom and let out a small gasp. His scowl deepened as he stared at her, his gaze eventually moving to her lips.

“Umm… Motel 6 is just up the street if you need to get a room,” Chuck said. “You can go at it with the lights on there too. In fact they leave them on for you.”

Dickie and Tommy snickered. Looking away from her to the three of them who now acted as an audience, Bobby grabbed her hand in his own and extended her middle finger towards them. Lilly could not help but laugh with them. The events of the night had been so emotionally draining, she had needed to laugh at something… even if it was childish and derogatory. She felt herself relax after that and a few minutes later she began drifting off to sleep against Bobby’s chest.

Sometime later she felt Bobby move and woke to him lifting her up and carrying her through the house to his room. He laid her on the bed, then pulled the sweatpants down and off her. Then he slid his rough hands up the outsides of her legs and grasping her panties pulled them off as well.

She couldn’t help but bury her face in the sheets as the scent of the cologne or aftershave he wore drifted up to meet her. After removing her shirt as well, he left the room quietly but returned a short time later. He removed his clothes and crawled in beside her, pulling her back into his chest. Lilly enjoyed the feel of his arms around her and lay quietly for some time.

“Where were you planning to take me?” she whispered.

“Vegas,” he whispered as he rolled away from her and turned the radio on low.

“Vegas? Why Vegas?” she whispered as he once again curled up behind her.

  “Wedding chapels,” he answered.

Lilly rolled over onto her back and faced him. Was he serious? Bobby stared at her with his dark scowl that she had come to know and love. He reached up and brushed a lock of hair back from her face and then leaning in he kissed her.

Lilly ran her hand down his bare chest feeling his muscles flex when her slow journey ended. He groaned when she wrapped her hand around his length and began stroking him. Leaning forward she kissed him softly.

“God, you are killing me, Lilly. It feels like it’s been forever…” he said as he grasped her hand to still her movement. He un-wrapped her fingers from around his length and pulled her hand over her head. Then he captured the other hand bringing it above her head as well and held them both in one of his hands.

“Touching me is a bad idea right now Lilly. I promised myself I would be gentle with you after the first time and then the garage…” he said as he rested his forehead against hers.

The light from outside the window filtered in and she could see his eyes staring into hers as he slid his free hand down the length of her body. Reaching her legs he pulled them apart and touched her. His touch was like a soothing balm on the harsh evening they had faced and she closed her eyes to revel in it.

“Look at me Lilly. I want to see you this time when you come for me,” he said.

Her breath caught but she opened her eyes to look at him as the intensity of his touch and the boldness of his stare began to make her legs shake.

“I’m in love with you, Lilly.” he whispered into her mouth.

She could hardly think between his words and the pleasure of his fingers. She began moving to meet the rhythm of his touch. “I love you too Bobby,” she exhaled.

“You are mine, Lilly. No one else can touch you like this… ever… just me. I thought I was going to lose you tonight. I’ve been given another chance and this time… this time I’m not letting you go,” he said quietly.

Her body seemed to explode from the impact of his words combined with the love shining in his eyes and she broke apart in his arms. Bobby released her arms and reached towards the night stand.

“I forgot… in the garage… I’m sorry, I got carried away that night but I’m safe and we didn’t… finish,” he said, as he tore the foil packet open with his teeth.

“It’s ok,” she said. “I’m safe and apparently can’t get pregnant…” She finished taking the foil packet from his hand and putting it back on the nightstand. “I was carried away that night too, I just missed you so much while I was gone…and I thought…and you were so angry. I just wanted you back.”

Bobby inhaled and closed his eyes as though fighting for control, then opened his eyes again and gazed at her. “Marry me Lilly. I want you in my life permanently…I want this every night…with you…only you. I’ve never felt this way about another person and I promise that I will never take you for granted again. You are the first thing I think of when I wake up and the last thing I think of before I go to bed. There isn’t room in my life…in me…for anyone else but you.”

Tears stung her eyes at his heartfelt words. This time around it wasn’t flowers and wine and bended knee. It was emotion, passion, love and a connection she had never felt with another person. Finding the words to tell this man how deeply he had touched her in such a short amount of time seemed impossible.

  “Yes,” She finally answered.

He gently touched the side of her face and leaned in to kiss her softly as he positioned himself between her legs and slowly entered her. His movements were slow and smooth but the fire he had built in her left her wanting more.

“Please Bobby…” she whispered as she slid her hands up his back grabbing at his shoulders.

“Tell me what you want, Lilly,” he whispered as he pulled her legs higher around his waist.

“I want…” she said as the first spasm shook her. “Not gentle Bobby…like before…like you. I
want you...only you.”

Bobby captured her lips with his own to quiet her, and then released them as he looked in her eyes.

“I don’t want to hurt you Lilly…I love you and I want you to feel how much when I make love to you,” he choked out.

“I do feel it, Bobby. The first time we were together it was like…you really wanted me…for me… and you couldn’t stop yourself. I don’t want you to think you need to make love to me a certain way. I want you to make love to me like you mean it…like I mean it, understand?” she said.

Bobby released her legs after squeezing them to his hips and slid his hands beneath her body and up her back until he could grasp her shoulders in each hand and slammed into her again and again. She cried out as heated waves seemed to overtake her body.

He kissed her mouth roughly. “I’ve never wanted anyone so much in my life… I look at you and I get hard… it’s crazy. I can’t stop myself…You feel so good to me,” he said as he thrust into her harder and faster than before. She came apart again at the rough passion he unleashed in her and he finally groaned out his own release.

  Chapter Sixteen

Monday afternoon found her at the office trying to forget the events that occurred there. Sherri sat in the office chair next to the desk and watched her as she moved about trying to get a few things done while they waited for Rebecca Waters to arrive. Dickie, Bobby and Chuck were all in the bay talking and based on their continual looks towards the office, she knew it was about her.

Looking out the window of the office Lilly watched a cab pull up and a woman step out. She and Sherri headed out to the garage bay where the guys were and waited as the woman approached and the cab drove away. She was thin and elegant with very light blond hair and hazel eyes…and she was familiar…very familiar. She seemed out of her element and Lilly could relate to her after having experienced a change in culture herself.

“Becca Waters, it’s nice to see you again Lilly,” she said, holding out her hand as she approached “I’m sorry about your blouse but I fear it’s ruined.”

“Yes, it’s nice to see you again. This is my sister Sherri Simons and Bobby Jackson who you spoke with on the phone,” she said shaking the woman’s hand and then gesturing towards Bobby and Sherri.

“Well I stopped by the Prosecutor’s office to have a little chat with him and you’ll be happy to know that no charges are being brought against you. The man you hit is recovering from a broken jaw and nose but is expected to make a full recovery,” she said to Bobby.

Lilly smiled at Bobby as Detective Sander’s car pulled into the lot followed by Tommy on his motorcycle. Tommy parked his bike and headed into the garage bay. He appeared agitated and didn’t say anything to them as he headed back to the bike he had been working on the past week. Detective Sanders approached and slung his arm around Becca’s shoulder.

“I see you’ve met my lovely sister,” he smiled.

“Yes we have…” Dickie said appreciatively.

Though the woman was obviously older than Lilly and appeared to be around Dickie’s age, she was well groomed and looked much younger than she probably was. She looked at Dickie and then back to her brother.

“I guess she told you how she bulldozed the local prosecutor into not pressing charges against you huh, Bobby?” Greg asked.

“Yes, thank you for the heads up the other night,” Bobby said, extending his hand to shake Greg’s.

Clearing her throat Becca said, “It appears they only intend to press charges against one other person aside from Special Agent Brower. Apparently, the other man who had a hand in helping my brother take down Agent Brower, a Charles Reynolds, is on probation and the weapon he used to strike Agent Brower is a violation of that probation.”

“No!” Dickie said stepping forward. All eyes focused on Dickie and his emotional outburst.

“Chuck saved me! They can’t do that,” she said upon seeing how upset Dickie was over the news.

Becca looked from Lilly to Dickie who stepped forward and held out his hand, “Richard Long, it’s nice to meet you. If possible I’d like to hire you to defend Chuck,” he said, pointing at Chuck.

“Dude, that’s fucked up,” Chuck said quietly. “For once I did the right thing and I’m still going down for it.”

“Look Mr. Long I’d be happy to refer you to another attorney who can help Mr. Reynolds, one that is considerably less expensive and can give his case the attention it deserves. I only came down here at the request of my brother. We are even now,” she said, looking pointedly at Detective Sanders. “I have other cases in New York that will require all of my time.”

Stepping even closer Dickie said, “I’m not rich but I’ve got some money saved up. I don’t want another attorney to handle this…I want you. If it ends up costing more than I have, maybe you can take it out in trade. I’m really good with my hands,” he said lifting his hands out towards her.

They stared at each other for a moment. “I um…I’m not sure how much I can really help without talking to Mr. Reynolds and again I’m sure that another attorney who actively practices in this state would be a better choice. I’ve passed the Florida bar exam but only because I have a vacation home along the coast,” Becca said, stepping back from him.

“If you can help him I would be in your debt…” Dickie said, stepping up as close to her as he could without touching her.

Tommy flung down a screwdriver and walked over to where they all stood.

“While we got you here, can you handle other cases besides criminal ones?” Tommy asked.

“I um…yea I can but I typically only handle criminal cases…high profile…expensive criminal cases,” she said, stepping back away from Dickie yet again.

“Look since you might have to hang around to help out Chuckie, would you mind to take a look at something for me?” Tommy asked, pulling a folded piece of paper out of his back pocket and handing it to her.

Becca took the paper from Tommy and after glancing at them nervously she unfolded it and read it to herself. After reading it she looked at Tommy and said, “Is the child yours?”

All eyes switched from Becca to Tommy. “I can’t say for sure, but it’s possible. I was with her around that time but there were others too…”

“Were you notified that Child and Family Services were removing the child from the mother’s care?” Becca asked.

“No, this is the first I knew anything about it…her…the baby I mean,” Tommy said.

“If you were listed on the birth certificate, you should have been given an opportunity to claim the child. I would have to request access to the child’s file to determine why that didn’t happen,” Becca said. “I mean… I can’t take either one of your cases. I have to get back to New York. I can refer you to an attorney as well Mr…?”

“McMurray… Thomas McMurray. I don’t want another attorney either, I’m with Dickie I want you. You’re obviously pretty good because you got Bobby out of his mess and they been gunning for him for a while. They don’t like us leather wearing, bike riding hell raisers too much around these parts. We aren’t exactly polite society ma’am but we’re good people and I…we could really use your help,” Tommy said with his normal teasing tone.

Becca glanced at Dickie and humor lit her face. Dickie Long…wow what a nickname. Lilly watched as embarrassment crept up Dickie’s face and she realized the improper implications of his nickname for the first time. She observed Becca begin to relax her rigid stance and pristine professional attitude right before her very eyes.

“Don’t you have some vacation time coming up?” Greg asked as he shook her shoulders that he still had his arm draped across. “Lilly will be making a court appearance in a couple of days to change the venue for Mr. Brower to the State of New York. The prosecutor in charge of this whole criminal case plans to have Brower’s case tried there rather than here in Florida. That means that she will be required to travel to New York often over the next few months. I’m sure her friends could a
ccompany her to the comfort of your office…if that would be better for you.”

Becca gave Greg a dirty look and then sighed heavily. “I uh…I guess I can take a look at your case Mr. Reynolds and yours as well Mr. McMurray but no promises for either one of you,” Becca said.

Lilly tried to wrap her head around the exchange that had just taken place. She hadn’t known that Chuck was on probation and found it hard to believe. Even with his tattoos and foul mouth, he still seemed like the all American boy to her. He had basically saved her life with not even a second thought. He worked hard at the shop and was always willing to help if asked. What could he possibly have done at such a young age to land him on probation?

Dickie’s odd behavior over Chuck’s legal troubles confused her. As Edna seemed to be the matriarch of this bunch of hooligans, perhaps Dickie deemed himself the patriarch. She also hadn’t missed the chemistry that seemed to flow between Dickie and Becca Waters but they both seemed oblivious to it.

Tommy had a whole other set of issues and Lilly wondered again about Gretchen. Was history repeating itself where Tommy was concerned? She realized that the guys’ issues bothered her as much as her own troubles with the upcoming criminal trial. They were her friends and she couldn’t help but worry for them. Friends…

They were her friends, probably better friends than people she’d known for more than a decade. They hadn’t turned from her when she had needed them most and made a mockery of her troubles or shunned her because of something she couldn’t control. On the contrary, they supported her, laughed with her, held her when she cried, protected her…saved her life! They had become her life…this was what Sherri meant about money not being everything. Sometimes just being there was enough.
