The Dimension Travel Trilogy: A Three Part Science Fiction And Fantasy Novel Page 8

by Pidoriano, Joseph

Even the jester, the least egocentric and the lowest of the feudal familial ranking inside the Magic Castle, possessed a specific coat of arms. This coat of arms was not actually given to the jester. It was more for symbolic use indicating to the outsider that there is a jester that resides at the Magic Castle.

Every day, there is a jester at the Magic Castle that gets either tossed out into the swamp, thrown into the dungeon, or fed to the dragon as a chew toy. The colors of the jester symbol coat of arms are a gothic rainbow color. Imagine a rainbow in a very gothic color spectrum.

The King had a pet dragon and even it had a coat of arms. The pet dragon’s coat of arms. The pet dragon’s coat of arms had a paw running right in the dead center and the paw was a goldenrod color.

Along with the paw as the center, the rest of the pet dragon’s coat of arms were the lines that were running across the coat of arms which were a bright yellow. The background of the pet dragon’s coat of arms was a lime green color - bright as an LED light doubled.

The last coat of arms belonged to the Wizard. The wizard’s coat of arms were gray in color with five blue wands and a black pot to show the infinite power of magic that the wizard may possess. The actual castle itself is a dark purple color, almost the color of indigo, and the stones on the castle are 6 feet by 6 feet. The king’s servants had perfectly laid the stones. The roof tops on the castle were black shingled rooftops and the black shingled rooftops had spider silhouette statues that would be constantly spinning. The murky green waters surrounded the castle and, every time the wind would blow, the castle’s spider silhouettes would constantly be spinning. When Iron Steel and Tom Jackson were at the castle, they witnessed the spider silhouettes spinning. Because, the day was very blustery by the castle, the stagnant swampy waters started to have waves and the water from the swamps started to splash on the castle.

The castle had stained glass windows. The stained glass windows were a yellow color, and the yellow color was a bright yellow color. To access the castle there was a big draw bridge which currently obscured the view of a part of the castle. The reason why it obscured the view of part of the castle was because the drawbridge was up.

There were sixty four square shaped towers and there were four towers per row with sixteen rows of square towers on each side of the castle. Then there were three round towers at the rear. The round towers were one thousand seven hundred and fifty six feet tall.

And there were seven turrets. The turrets stood over each coat of arms. There was one turret above every single coat of arms at the Magic Castle because they represented the dignity offered by the coat of arms.

Last but not least was the fishing pier for the Magic Castle which was nothing but a big cobblestone walkway leading up to the draw bridge, and right now this is Tom Jackson’s and Iron Steel’s status. Tom Jackson looked up and said, “Wow, this castle is immense and complex.” As Iron Steel was flying above Tom Jackson, he said, “I wish I was seeing this castle from your perspective.” Tom Jackson said in a snooty way to his friend, “Well, guess what, it is too bad that you are not in my view. Say will you grab me with those clodhopper claws and fly me up close?”

Iron Steel responded to Tom Jackson also in a snooty way, “Well, could you give me a chance to think about it?” He paused for a moment and continued, “Oh yeah, well, you said a smart aleck thing to me.” Tom asked, “Now, what smart aleck thing did I say to you?”

Iron Steel said, “Oh yeah, calling my claws clodhopper claws. Why don’t you walk this long, narrow, and treacherous walk to the castle?

It seems to me like you don’t need me to fly you over there. Is that correct Tom?”

Tom answered with a gulp of intimidation, “yes.”

  Tom started

to gradually move to the castle. The walk was a thousand foot walk.

However, through Tom Jackson’s perspective, the walk seemed to be one thousand miles long. Tom Jackson walked like a baby taking its first steps. Iron Steel was flying over Tom Jackson, and the wings of Tom’s dragon friend above him were getting sore because his wings would eventually wear out.

And as Iron Steel’s yellow wings were wearing out, he hollered at Tom, “Pick up the pace. You lazy slow poke.” Tom said in even more fear of his friend, “Okay!” Once again, Tom’s okay was with a gulp of nervousness. The reason why Tom was nervous was because of two things. The first thing is the treacherous walk. It didn’t seem treacherous at first. However, as Tom started walking closer to the castle, about four hundred and fifty feet away, the walk started to tip to the right.

Originally, Tom walked at a normal pace after his friend told him to move it, and finally, he moved it when his friend had told him to pick up the pace. So, now the walk was tipping to the right and Tom is starting to notice. Tom started running for his life and he unthinkingly, but in an accidental way, stepped on the tipping part of the walk way. Now Tom is five hundred feet away from the castle.

Tom paused after he stopped running from the tipping walkway and was panting heavily like a dog. Iron Steel told Tom Jackson, “Come on move faster.” Tom Jackson darted over two hundred and fifty feet further and the walkway started to sink.

The reason the walkway started to sink was it was a derecipt walkway and couldn’t withstand the weight of a two hundred and fifty pound, six to seven foot tall basketball player. When Tom noticed that the walkway was sinking, he at first remained there. Within a matter of seconds, a portion of a piece of the walkway was covered by the dark green swampy waters. Tom started to run away from the area. A gasp left Tom’s mouth and Tom ended up at the end of the walk near the castle. When Tom arrived at the castle, he saw two guards. After Tom saw the two guards, his friend who was in the present form of a dragon arrived. The guards were tall stocky men and these guards were brothers.

The first one that stood to the left, Waldon, was the egocentric and pompous one. His uniform had a bronze metallic color. Around his uniform was a big vest that was a goldenrod color. This vest was more like a goldenrod chain link which protected the knights against swords. His boots were Texas Style boots that had special buckles on the rear. The other guard, a more humble brother, was taller than his fellow brother and knight.

The more humble one’s name was Norman. Norman had cleat metallic boots and he had a typical knight uniform. Norman stood up at six feet ten inches tall. Both brothers were on top of Clydesdale horses. One of the horses was brown. The brown one looked like a typical Clydesdale. His name was Dusseldorf.

The brown Clydesdale was named Dusseldorf was because he was brought up at Dusseldorf Castle and was sold to the Magic Castle. Dusseldorf belongs to Norman and is Norman’s best companion.

Next to Dusseldorf was Angel. Angel is a female horse. This female horse is as tough as nails. Angel stands at a staggering thirteen feet. Angel is white and she is not a pedigree horse. She is a hybrid.

Angel’s parents were an Arabian horse who was a female and a Clydesdale who was a male. Angel has some of the Arabian horse trait within her giving her the white pigment in her hair and she has the Clydesdale trait of height.

However, both horses had many commonalities within each other. The commonalities the horses had in each other was that they both are the same height, wear the same clothing, and live in the same stable in the back of the castle. The horses also both wear - when they are standing on guard with their owners - a garment that is dark purple with yellow lines to symbolize the colors of the Magic Castle. When Tom Jackson arrived, the two brothers Waldon and Norman were fighting over who should come off the horse. It was hard to understand what they were saying because they were fighting at the same time, and Waldon yelled at Norman, “I am getting off of my horse to greet the guests and that is final.”

When the brothers were fighting, it was also very hard to understand their fighting was because of the fact that both brothers had Scottish accents. Waldon was a very condescending and rude person to his fellow brother. However, he would never dare to be
rude to the king. Finally, as Tom Jackson and Iron Steel arrived at the castle, Waldon asked Tom Jackson, “What brings you here?” Tom said, “I am here to rescue my dragon friend behind me.” Waldon said, “Who is that?”

Tom said to Waldon, “Would you mind holding on for one moment?” Tom Jackson whispered to his friend, “Do you want me to tell the guards your name?” Iron Steel said, “No.” Tom whispered back to his friend, “Okay.” Tom turned around to the guards Waldon and Norman, “His name is Iron Steel.” Now Tom’s dragon friend told him, “What’s wrong with your head? How disobedient can you possibly be? You’re stubborn, spiteful, and obstinate?”

  Tom said, “I am sorry.”

Iron Steel said, “Shut up! That is it I

am going to blow fire on you.” Tom said, “Give me mercy!” Steel said, “Hell to the no! You aren’t getting no mercy!” Iron Steel started to try to blow fire on Tom on the guards Waldon and Norman. The two guards used their shields to block the fire. Waldon told Tom, “Is that your friend?”

Tom said with a pretentious expression, “No, in fact, I hate him! I don’t know who he is. I don’t know him at all.” The guards looked him straight in the eye and the second one, Norman asked him, “Are you lying to me? Are you trying to play with my mind and manipulate it? Are you trying to mastermind me and fool me?”

Tom said, “No, what are you talking about?”

  Norman said,

“Your Dragon friend. You are allowed here, however, he is not and thus, that’s final!” Iron told Tom, “I will sneak over the castle once you get past those guards and from there, we will meet the king and the wizard and everything will be finished.” After, Iron Steel whispered to his friend about the grand plan, the two guards said, “What are you two talking about?” Tom said, “None of your business.” The guards jumped off of their horses and huddled to each other about letting him in. Norman said, “Listen, he is not a troublemaker. It looks like his friend is going to do no harm. Granted, he is a dragon, but having a pet dragon is quite prevalent within the kingdom. So, what is the big deal about having him here for a brief visit?”

With a look of anger on Waldon’s face, Waldon said, “I am not letting him in and, that’s final!” Even though Norman was the lord according to the General Feudal System, he would always try and be fair and take ideas from the other Vassals or Knights and he would also try to negotiate with the other vassals in order to make peace, especially with his irritating brother. Norman had the authority to send anybody in the dungeon who would try to stand up to him, even his own family. However, his brother thought he had the right also because of familial relationships. But, in this case, Norman didn’t let his egotistical, power hungry brother try and control him like usual.

Norman took matters into his own hands. Norman answered back at his bold and condescending brother, “Who are you to tell me what to do? You sound like a power ravenous pig?”

Waldon looked at his brother in shock and yelled back, “You don’t tell me what to do!” Norman continued the argument by saying, “Well, my feudal ranking is higher than yours. Don’t bother me!

Remember, the king appointed me to make the final decisions! So it is double T’s for you.” Norman brushed off and disregarded what his brother had said and told Tom Jackson, “Okay, you are allowed into the castle. Welcome, to the land of true Magic.”

Tom was jumping up and down constantly, “Thank you so much. Thank you, Thank you Thank You!” And Tom kept repeating, the word thank you until, Norman told him, “Okay, cut it out!”

Norman turned around and looked at the guard tower. Like the rest of the Magic Castle, the guard tower had the same colors as the Magic Castle. The colors of the guard tower were dark purple blocks with an indigo color and a cone that was the color of a black shingled rooftop.

The guard inside the guard tower looked like a six hundred pound husky guy. He looked unkempt and had a beard three quarters of his height. Norman shouted up to the guard, “Open the gate, Heathen!”

Heathen was actually the guard’s name. Heathen grabbed the lever and pulled it down. A crackling of the chain started to take place, and Tom Jackson jumped on the drawbridge of the Magic Castle. Finally, he arrived.

Chapter Eight: A walk to the King, and an intimidating encounter with the king

After Tom Jackson had crossed the bridge to get into the Magic Castle, he found a long, narrow alleyway toward the Magic Shop. Meanwhile, Waldon and Norman were fighting, and Iron Steel was livid that he was denied access to the castle. While the two guards were fighting, Iron Steel made a daring move over the guard tower.

Luckily, in Steel’s case, he didn’t get shot with the catapult. The guard hadn’t noticed him. The guard was sleeping with a book stuck to his head. In fact, the guard in the guard tower was sleeping so deep that everyone in the castle was able to hear his snores.

He would be the last person on their minds because the snores sounded like the noises from the swamp. The swamp would make a growling noise on some days, on others it would make a noise that would often sound like snores. There were very few days it wouldn’t make any noise at all. The growling noises were from serpent fish lurking in the swamps. Serpent fish are about three hundred feet long and they have a greenish-black color. The only teeth that they have in their mouths are canine teeth made of serpentine rock, which meant, their teeth could break easily.

That would have been bad for the prey; if their teeth would crack, their prey would have been poisoned due to the serpentine component found in their teeth. These serpents’ colors are greenish black. Their greenish black color was for camouflage in order to remain invisible to the dragon. The serpents can defeat mortal souls except for dragons. The dragons could kill them with just one blow of their flame. The snoring sounds were made by the wind. Due to the fact that there are always so many gusts of winds on the Magic Castle blowing through the turrets and towers, and in the areas that are lying around the Magic Castle, howls and snore-like sounds are often heard.

Sometimes, the guard in the guard tower likes to play some tricks of his own. Since the snores of wind around the castle are constantly being heard, not a single person residing or visiting, will think that it is the guard snoring. Luckily, the guard was never caught snoring, because if he was caught, he would’ve been fed to the serpents down below. After crossing the drawbridge, Tom Jackson started making his way on foot down the corridor of the Magic Castle.

The corridor was about one thousand feet long.

There was an elaborate look to the corridor with attention to detail. In the walls of the corridor, there were carvings that shown the history of the Magic Castle. As the person walked down the corridor the carvings presented the history of the Magic Castle. They portrayed a wizard fleeing the land of Debelinare. Debelinare was a land that demoted wizardry and eventually forbade the act of wizardry.

The wizard portrayed in the carving who fled the land was Donjones which meant in the Debelinarian language, “wicked one.”

While Donjones was fleeing the land of Debelinare, he was stuck in the middle of a marshy and mucky swamp with a bunch of serpents.

Granted, the land was swampy, however, he was able to build the Magic Castle. Along the wall, there were six gargoyles. Now, Tom Jackson was walking down the corridor, completely oblivious to his beastly dragon friend flying over him which suddenly caused Tom to make an abrupt halt.

When Mr. Steel arrived towards his friend, he was breathing heavily, and yelled, “What the hell is wrong with you?” Tom said with trepidation, “Nothing. By the way, your breath smells. What did you have, chili dogs made of serpent crap or did the horse sneeze in your face?” Steel told Jackson, “Is there something wrong with your damn head? I wasn’t even near the horse!”

  Tom said, “Let’s just continue.”

  As Tom was walking and

Steel was stomping ahead, there were Gargoyles in the hall, and they sang a short sentence-like tune sounding like a barber shop quartet, “Intrud
er, who are you?”

Now, all of the gargoyles had different faces. Even though all were the same color which was grey, they all had different faces.

There were three on the left side of the hallway, and three on the right side of the hallway. As you would walk down to the end of the corridor, you could see their different faces. The first two facing each other were Smiles, who would always smile and have a face filled with joy and merriment, and Sad Sack, who would have always had bags under his eyes where it appeared that he had never gotten any rest. He was a sad sack because he was attacked by a serpent and the serpent’s attack caused a mutation in his personality. Prior to the serpent’s attack, he was happier than Smiles. In fact, prior to the serpent’s attack, even though he was made of stone, he was strong enough that he would fly off of his post, but that can’t happen anymore. As you would move further down the corridor, there are two more gargoyles, Mr. Superior and Mr. Weakling.

Mr. Superior had hair that was shiny black hair with a wave with a pony tail on the black. Mr. Superior had muscles in his arms, legs, and his face. Even his eye brows had muscles. Ten Feet across from Mr. Superior was the opposite, Mr. Weakling. Weakling had an inferiority complex. Weakling looked like a shriveled up creature.

Weakling didn’t even have a concrete structure. The artisan who created Weakling was probably tired of designing these gargoyles with painstaking attention to detail that they had required.
