After the nightmare that her marriage had been, she had been more than happy to walk away from him and his money.
It had taken her more than two years to get out of that marriage and maintain primary custody of her daughters. Her lawyer had finally gotten her out of the prenuptial agreement with the promise to sign a confidentiality agreement about his sexuality, as if any woman wanted to go around announcing that her husband preferred men.
“You need help,” Angela said laughing at Toni and shaking her head. “Actually, I am very proud of myself.”
Angela’s mind instantly went to the feeling of Julian’s lips against hers and how soft yet firm his kiss was.
“Girl, I commend your will power because if that fine man put his lips on me, we would be naked rolling around on the floor playing Where’s Waldo in two-point-two seconds,” Toni said as she sat back down behind her desk.
“Excuse me, I have a delivery for a Ms. Angela McMillian,” a flower delivery man that had just walked in the office said to them.
“Oh! That’s me” Angela said.
Angela took the flowers which were the most beautiful Casablanca Lily’s she had ever seen. Smiling from ear to ear she signed for them and read the card. It read, “For the woman who deserves the best, J.”
“Who are they from?” Toni said smelling the flowers. She had damn near leapt over her desk as soon as she had seen the delivery man.
Angela smiled the biggest smile she could remember smiling in her life and turned the card so that Toni could see what was written.
“HAAAAA!” Toni screamed followed by doing a church praise dance in the middle of the executive offices and shouting, “GLORY!!!”
“Shhh,” Angela said laughing.
“Wow, I have never had people be so happy to see me,” the same delivery guy was back and this time he was holding a small beautifully wrapped box.
“Ok, ain’t nobody dancing for you and how many companies do you work for?” Toni said stopping her dance and putting her hands on her hips.
Angela looked confused as she took the box he had brought to her and signed for it.
“I…. umm…” Angela started to say but something in the box made noise surprising her. She looked at the delivery man. “What is this?” she asked.
Shrugging his shoulders, he said, “I don’t know, I just deliver. I usually open up boxes when I want to know what is in them,” he said to her feigning ignorance.
“Ok, nobody likes a smart ass delivery man, sir,” Toni said. “You are the weakest link; goodbye,” she finished, shooing him out of the office as Angela untied the bow and unwrapped her box. She was still trying to figure out what it was.
“What is it?” Toni asked. Angela pulled a black walkie-talkie out of the box.
“Hello?” the voice on the walkie-talkie crackled.
Frowning, Angela pressed the button on the walkie-talkie and said, “Hello?”
“Hello, gorgeous!” Julian said.
Angela instantly knew who it was because her stomach fell and her heart skipped a beat like she was school girl.
“Julian, what are you doing?” Angela said into the walkie-talkie.
“I am on a little reconnaissance mission,” Julian said.
Angela looked at Toni who shrugged her shoulders in confusion but watched intently like she was seeing her favorite soap opera play out in front of her.
“You’re on a what now?” Angela said.
“A reconnaissance mission,” Julian said again. “I am trying to find out the best way to ask out the fascinating, stunning, perceptive woman that lives next door to me. I was hoping you could give me some pointers.”
Out of the corner of her eye, Angela could see Toni writing on a legal pad. When she held it up it said, “All I want to know is, how big it is.”
Waving her off Angela said, “Why not just ask her out. Women like a man that is straight forward.”
“I agree and I would except I don’t know what she likes to do. I really want to make a good first impression,” he said.
“Well, you are definitely making an impression,” Angela said smiling. “This has to be the weirdest conversation I have ever had,” she said into the walkie-talkie.
“Really? Well, I guess the tin cans with the string between them would have been weirder. I remembered you saying your boss doesn’t like it when you are on your cell phone at work. So I figured these would alleviate that problem,” Julian said.
Toni had swooned into her chair at her desk at how romantic this all was.
“Well, thank you for that consideration,” Angela said.
“So, back to this lady; what do you think I should do to get her to go on a bonafide date with me?” Julian said. Angela could hear the smile in his voice.
Julian was pacing around in the lobby of Angela’s office building praying this worked the way he wanted it to and that she did not think he was completely crazy. He was standing by a fake dogwood tree they had in the center of the lobby. Looking around, he noticed he had gained an audience of ten to fifteen thirty to forty something women all clutching their chests as they listened to his conversation.
Julian was not sure if that was sad, but the only woman he cared about was Angela.
“Well, you could just plan the date from beginning to end without consulting her. Just let her know what to wear and go from there,” he heard Angie say. “But first you have to ask her.”
“So you’re saying I should just ask and plan? You think she will go for that?” he said.
Toni was nodding her head like a two year old and clapping. Angie laughed and said, “Nothing beats a failure but a try.”
Julian chuckled and said, “You are absolutely right.”
Angela heard the static of the walkie-talkie cut off. Pressing the button on the side, she said, “Hello?” but heard nothing.
Just then the same delivery man came in with another small box that was beautifully wrapped. Angie signed for the box and opened it.
“So, is she your only delivery for today?” Toni said to him sarcastically.
“You know I am SHOCKED that all of this isn’t being done for you… just ASTOUNDED,” the delivery man said shaking his head.
“Your mother,” Toni said to him and they both laughed.
Angela found a beautiful formal invitation, nestled in between black tissue paper.
The invitation was a unique layered invitation, with a sheer vellum top layer featuring Julian’s initials and the bottom layer had the words:

A satin ribbon secured the top and bottom layers.
Angela could not believe what she was seeing. This was the most beautiful and amazing thing she had ever seen. She heard the crackling of the walkie-talkie again and then heard Julian’s voice.
“Will you?” he said.
Angela was still so shocked at all of this that she looked at the delivery man and Toni for help.
“If you don’t say yes, I will,” the delivery man said.
“I am pretty sure you have too much penis for him,” Toni said to him laughing, shaking her head and laughing at the bond she had made in sarcasm with the delivery man very quickly. Pressing the button on the walking talkie, Angela took a deep breath and took the plunge.
“Yes, I will,” she said. The delivery man left the office but returned very quickly with another beautifully decorated box that was huge.
“Oh my Go
d,” she said looking at Toni.
“Well, stop looking at me and open it! I want to see what it is. This is too good,” she said smiling.
“Me too,” the delivery man said.
“Don’t you have something to do?” Toni said laughing.
“Not until I see what is in that box,” he said.
Angela pulled the extra-large purple ribbon and opened the lid of the box. Inside was a Navy Sheath Column V-neck short Mini-Tulle Charmeuse cocktail dress with lace beading sequins, silver stilettos and purse to match. It was the most beautiful dress she had ever seen. The shoes and dress were exactly the right size. ‘How did he know?’ she thought smiling.
“Do you like it?” Julian said over the walkie-talkie. He was hoping that she had gotten the box open.
“Yes, it’s beautiful, Julian. But how did you know my sizes? I can’t accept this,” she said.
“WHAT?” Toni said. “Yes, she can!” she yelled but Angela was not holding the button so Julian could not hear her.
“Sweetie, I have studied your delectable curves for a long time from a distance now. I bet I know your cup size. You already agreed to the date and the dress comes with the date. So I will see Saturday morning. Right?” he said.
Both the delivery man and Toni were nodding their heads ‘yes’.
Shaking her head and laughing to herself at how invested this delivery man had gotten in this experience, Angela pressed the button and said, “Yes.”
CHAPTER 9
“Are you ready?” Toni asked Angela. She had gotten up at seven a.m. full of nervous energy about going out with Julian for an entire day. She had made a small breakfast basket of pumpkin muffins and vanilla coffee which was Julian’s favorites, with an assortment of fruit. Angela wanted them to at least have a snack on the hour and forty-five minute drive to the winery.
“Yes, I am ready. Well, I am dressed and I have the outfit for dinner tonight,” she told Toni. Pacing she stopped to look in the full length mirror that was built into her front hall closet door. Toni had talked Angela into going shopping for a sexy outfit and some sexy under things. Although Angela had no intention of sleeping with Julian, she had gone along to get a new outfit. It had been so long since she thought of buying something sexy to entice a man being that her ex-husband was gay. She had decided on a black leather corset in a classic style with a definite edgy twist. The front is decorated with a decorative operational front zipper along with added decorative zippers along the bust chest area. The zippers were in a gold tone, with details like boning, sweetheart neckline. She had bought a pair of dark denim stretch midrise slim boot cut jeans with double-button closure and back flap pocket, with the matching cropped denim jacket. With a pair of black lace-up platform booties faux leather upper with a lace-up tie design, ankle strap with a buckle and chain accent she had to admit she looked bad ass.
“Well, you may not be ready but your Va JJ is. She was sending up Morse code at the mall yesterday,” Toni said to her snapping Angela out of her thoughts.
“TONI!” Angela started but was stopped by the doorbell. “OH! Shoot. He is here. I have to go,” Angela said.
“Yes, go and get you some ding ding that has not been in a man’s…” Toni started to say.
“OK! I GOT IT, BYE!” Angela yelled shaking her head as she hung up her phone and put it in her purse.
“Just a minute,” she said after Julian rang the bell again.
Angela opened her front door and Julian was leaning against the door jamb smiling. He was wearing dark blue jeans, a white button down shirt, a black leather jacket and a pair of leather biker boots. He looked good enough to eat. His shirt was hugging his chest so tightly she could see every rippling muscle of the six-pack of his chest and stomach.
‘Lord, please help me to keep my panties on this weekend. Amen,’ she said to herself.
“Good morning! My...” Julian said stopping mid-sentence and pushing his sunglasses down on his nose.
“Good morning, Julian! How are you this morning?” Angela said turning to walk back into her dining room to get the picnic basket she had put together and her purse.
“My God, Angie those hips,” Julian said following behind her closing the door behind him. Angie stopped and whipped around, looking down at herself.
“Is this not ok? Because I can...” Angela started to say but Julian stopped her words by grabbing her around her waist and pulling her into his arms.
Looking into her eyes he said, “You better not. What I was about to say is the curve of your hips are so sexy and alluring it’s going to be hard to keep my hands off of you today,” he said. “Is it ok if I just run my hands innocently over them now before we leave just to get it out of my system?” he finished smiling. Angela loved the way it felt to have his arms around her. The look of desire in his eyes and the feeling of his member nudging her hip told her he meant everything he said.
“Well, since you asked so nicely, I will let you get one feel and then it’s time to go”, she said smiling up at him. Angela grabbed his right hand and guided it to her waist then slowly slid it down over her hips and then around to her rear where she let him cup a cheek loosely. When Julian’s eyes rolled up in his head and his head fell back, he moaned.
Laughing quietly and shaking her head, Angela stood on her tip toes and kissed the tip of his chin and whispered, “That’s all you get. Let’s go.”
“UMM… DAMN!” Julian said. Taking the picnic basket from her he said, “What is this?”
“Breakfast,” she said as she walked to her front door. Julian took the opportunity to watch her delectable ass as she walked to the door.
“Julian?” Angela said.
“Yes?”
“Stop staring at my ass,” she said looking back at him over her shoulder and winking at him.
*******
“Ok, last one,” Angela said as she slid the last strawberry into Julian’s mouth because he couldn’t feed himself and drive. Angela had been feeding him, sliding the strawberry all the way into his mouth until just the tip of her finger was between his lips. Julian took the opportunity to sensually pull her fingers into his mouth and lightly suck on them.
The feeling of his tongue against her fingers sensually pulled her entire body into a heavenly awakening of the most erotic feelings Angela had ever felt.
Angela started to feel that familiar throb between her legs; the feeling of uncontrollable hot wet desire. Clearing her throat, she busied herself with putting the fruit container away in the picnic basket that was in the back seat.
They were on their way to the Golden Winery in Redwine, N.C. Golden Winery is a beautiful setting for wine tastings; the grounds include a historic century old farm house, a fully restored mule barn, and the original milk house that was now used to support the wine making operations and wine tasting facility. The vineyard is planted in the fertile soil of the rolling hills in Sandburg County. There is a Golden Creek that slowly winds through the property and there was a family name that represents over 100 years of family ownership of the beautiful farmland. It was a place that when she was married, Angela had always hoped that her husband would take her to.
“So have you been to this place we are going to?”
Julian was feeling like he was twelve feet tall right now. He had not missed the look of total arousal on Angela’s face when he had sucked her fingers. He had never been so glad to see that a woman wanted him just as much as he wanted her as he was in that moment.
“Actually no, but a friend of mine and his wife went there a few months ago for the Murder Mystery weekend,” he said. “I thought what better first date than a glass of wine, a murder, and… me,” he finished looking at her and smiling.
Laughing, Angela said, “Well, two out of three ain’t bad.”
“OHHH! That was a low blow,” Julian said laughing.
Just then they passed a sign for an antique shop she had been dying to go to.
“OH! Can we get off at the next exit and go t
here?” she said.
“Sure!” he said. Julian thought that she looked so excited. The sparkle in her eyes was something that Julian had adored from the moment he had seen her.
All Julian could think about was ways that he could make her smile, to see joy in her eyes and in her heart.
They pulled into the parking lot of Landings Antiques. There are many antique shops along the coast, including the Wrightsville Beach area. Landings Antiques was a well-known antique store in the area. Whether you are looking for true antique or just used furniture you’ll likely find a bargain on just the piece you can’t live without. A walk through the 10,000 square ft. warehouse will give you a feel for what takes place there. The energy is unmistakable to most.
“Have you ever been here before?” Julian asked her as they walked toward into the store.
“No,” she said. “I have wanted to come for a while.”
“I bought the bed that’s in one of my guest rooms here. You are going to love this place,” he said.
“You like antiques?” she said smiling.
“Yeah, of course I do. There is nothing like having a piece of furniture or painting or vase in your home that has a history with memories attached to it,” Julian said.
“Um... my husband used to say there is a reason they call it the past and old. Because no one wants it anymore,” Angela said. She was looking at a bed but Julian saw the look of sadness that came across her face.
‘She often tries to hide her pain,’ he was thinking.
Touching her arm to get her attention Julian said, “I would want you more and more every year. If you were my precious antique, I would make sure you never felt anything except that you were wanted and needed.”
Angela gradually moved closer to Julian, holding his gaze. Leaning in to him taking in his scent, she placed her lips on his first slowly nipping at his bottom lip, tracing his lips with her tongue. Before sliding it into his mouth. Julian moaned, placing his hands on both her cheeks to deepen the kiss. Each caress of their lips and tongues fanned the flames of their passion. Angela stepped back breaking the kiss.
