It had taken a couple of long, miserable months for them to get to this moment, to this perfect point in time, but Paul couldn’t complain. Clearing his throat, he pulled in a deep breath for courage, and then roughly said, “So, um, I know I just came so hard that I probably lost a few brain cells, which means I’m not going to be nearly as smooth as I’d hoped…and that you’ve only just decided to forgive me, but I don’t want to go another second without saying something.”
She lifted her head, her passion-heavy gaze searching his as she waited for him to go on.
“I love you, Rin.”
Her brown eyes shot wide with surprise, then softened with a warm glow, and she gave him a stunning little smile. “You do?”
Nodding up at her, he said, “So fucking much. So you had better start getting used to hearing it, because I’m gonna be saying it all the time.”
“Say it again to me now,” she whispered, her gorgeous face flushed with pleasure.
Paul’s chest shook with a deep, husky rumble of laughter as he fisted his hand in the back of her hair and pulled her closer, scattering kisses over her pink cheeks and lips as he said, “I love you. I love you. I love you.”
“That’s awesome,” she told him, her voice breathless and soft as she pressed her lips to the edge of his jaw, “because I happen to love you too.”
He froze beneath her, his cock jerking inside her as if he’d just been hit with a jolt of pure adrenaline. “Holy shit,” he scraped out as she lifted her head, his heart damn near pounding its way into his throat. “Are you serious?”
The smile she gave him was slow and sweet and so fucking beautiful, it nearly killed him. “Oh yeah.”
“Fuck, baby, that’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever heard.”
And just like that, he was hard as a rock again, filling her so full that he knew it had to hurt. But she didn’t utter a single word of complaint as she pressed her soft hands against his shoulders and lifted her upper body away from his chest, the movement pushing his cock even deeper inside her, the way he hungrily watched her breasts making it clear that he loved how they were swaying so close to his face. Voice nothing more than a ragged scrape of sound, he went on, saying, “I’ll keep working on me. On learning how to be what you deserve.”
Grabbing one of his shaking hands, she brought it to her lips and pressed a tender kiss to the center of his palm. “You are what I deserve. And we’re not going to waste time dwelling on the past. We’re going to focus on the future. The one we make together.”
God, he thought, this woman is amazing.
His woman was amazing.
And as he knifed up into a sitting position, wrapping his arms around her as he pressed his lips to hers, telling her over and over how much he loved her, Paul could only marvel at how he’d somehow managed to find his own personal version of heaven right here on earth.
But it was true—and he was going to protect her…and worship her…and love her with everything that he had.
