Verity glowered at him. “You’re gonna leave me like this?”
“You just went through an ordeal and—”
“You...inside me...now,” she interrupted.
Liquid heat filled his eyes. He stripped off his clothes in record time. The blankets where thrown to the side and she moaned in bliss as he sank deep into her. Verity purred as he moved within her. Slow, even strokes fanned the flames which burned within her.
When she came, she cried out to the room and held tight onto the man loving her. Dominic came shortly after and murmured, “I love you, Verity,” as he filled her womb with his seed.
They didn’t make that first flight. But they did make it to Texas by Christmas morning. Although she had a cast on one arm and bruises on her face, Verity walked at Dominic’s side through the front door his parents’ house early morning on the twenty-fifth of December.
She first met his parents, who were wonderful. Then she met his brothers. The middle one, Erich Stark who was in the Air Force, and his fiancée, Bliss Esparza. The youngest, a Marine, Garrick Stark and his fiancée, Delaney Byrd. All three brothers and the father were beyond handsome. Their mother was a beautiful woman.
As they sat around the tree opening gifts, Verity leaned against Dominic and watched the love his family had for one another. Dominic looked at her and brushed his lips over hers. He got up to tackle his brother, Erich, for some comment he made about the Navy and Verity met Bliss’ eyes and laughed. It died when he stood before her, his expression serious.
The room fell silent when Dominic dropped to one knee and said with his deep Texas drawl, “Verity. You know you mean the world to me. I’m not good at flowery words or speeches. All I know is, I don’t want another day to go by without knowing one thing. Will you, Verity Gemma Andrews, marry me?”
Tears gathered and seeped over when he opened the box and she stared at a stunning ring. Biting her lower lip, she nodded and said, “Yes. Yes, I’ll marry you!”
His mouth was over hers in the next second. Her eyes drifted closed as she gave all she had to the kiss and more. It took a while before the whistles and catcalling sank in. Dominic met her eyes when he ended the passionate exchange. Desire swirled in his orbs but more than that, she saw his love. “I love you, too, Dominic.”
He cupped the side of her face and stroked her cheekbone with his thumb. “Don’t ever stop telling me.”
“I won’t.”
Dominic slipped the ring on her finger and rose to meet the congratulations of his family. That wasn’t his only surprise. Later on, her relatives showed up and joined in the festivities of the day. That night when she burrowed tight against her fiancé she had a smile on her face. Commander Dominic “Hurricane” Stark was everything she could have ever wanted.
“I love you, Dominic,” she whispered to the dark room.
“Love you too, baby. I love you, too.”
No matter what their future held for them, they would be together. Of that she was certain.
