Shit!
"Oh, shoot me now," I groaned, burying my face in the towel.
"Close the door and I swear I'll explain!" I cried out when I heard more footsteps on the stairs.
"But Sieren is a healer. He might be able to…"
"Trust me! Sieren can't help with this."
Kieve glanced down and spotted the bit of blood on my inner thigh.
He looked up at me horrified.
"You're bleeding from there?!"
"It's my period, it’s fine. I just need..."
"Sieren!" Kieve bellowed and snatched me up.
"Are you insane?! Put me down!"
He set me down on the bed and fought me until he could get my pants off all the way.
"Did I do this?" He groaned as if he was in pain, looking down there panicked, wrestling me.
Oh, for the love of…!
I pinched and slapped, balling my fists to punch at him as he deftly dodged me.
“No! Would you… grrr! ...you don’t… but… if you… would you… stop!”
He didn’t and I resorted to fighting dirty as he kept trying to pry my legs open.
"Stop! Kieve! Would you just listen to me?!" I pleaded, but he wasn't listening.
His face had paled and he looked like he might be sick.
"Kieve!" I bellowed, smacking his chest.
He'd just gotten my legs pried all the way open when Sieren came in.
Sieren's eyes bugged out as he gaped at us.
"She's bleeding, help her," Kieve grunted out, brushing off my well-aimed kick to his head, trying to get a better look at what he perceived as an injury.
"Let me go, or so help me! I will never have sex with you again!"
The sound of the screen door opening had me panicking, thrashing about wildly.
Noooo!
Anything but him!
"If Teivel comes in here and sees my coochie, I will bite both of your dicks off the next time I go down on you!"
That got him to let go.
I grabbed a handful of blanket and tossed it over my waist. I finally managed to tear the towel into smaller pieces and put a square between my legs. I tried to put my pants back on underneath the blanket
"If you would just listen to me for one damn minute! I can explain!" I panted, wiggling my pants back on.
"What happened?" Sieren asked calmly, shutting the door.
It would have been wonderful if he was on the other side of the door when he shut it, but it's better him than Teivel.
"Don't your women menstruate?"
At their blank stares I had my answer, but just to be sure...
"Don't they bleed once a month for five to seven days? Usually every thirty days or so?"
"You bleed for five to seven days... every thirty days?" Kieve’s lips parted in disbelief and he stared stupidly, dumbfounded, blinking at me.
"Uh, yeah, what do your women do, then?" I asked slowly.
"And no one dies from it?" Sieren put in.
This was just too absurd and I burst out laughing. I couldn’t help it.
Sieren scratched his bald head and looked at Kieve worriedly.
They shared a look.
"How much blood has she lost?" he asked worriedly, his lips a thin line.
"I am not going into shock and I am not dying!" I got out between laughs.
"Maybe we should check," Kieve suggested, nodding his head, "just to be sure."
I sobered at that.
They both slowly walked towards the bed and I growled at them in warning.
They looked at each other, then me, then each other again as if in silent communication.
Those looks did not bode well for me.
….crap on a cracker…
****
"Why isn't she talking to you two?" Teivel asked curiously, wondering at all the tension in the room.
Nobody answered him and I turned beet red as I glared at my plate.
I was sitting in my own seat across from Kieve and I was too mad at him at the moment to even look at him.
I noticed, through the corner of my eye, that Sieren blushed a bright blue all over his neck and face.
"Who got hurt? I smell blood," Teivel tried again.
I looked up and pursed my lips, glaring at Kieve and Sieren in warning.
"Nobody," I managed through clenched teeth.
Kieve just kept giving me sad puppy dog eyes and stared at me like a love sick lamb.
I'm still too mad at him to be taken in by how disgustingly adorable or contrite he looks.
Some things are just... too much, I thought and sniffed disdainfully.
Sieren cleared his throat uncomfortably and opened his mouth as if to say something, but closed it again.
He fidgeted with his water cup and picked at his food.
"What is going on?!" Teivel demanded. "Are you all punishing me for the way I acted earlier? If I say I'm sorry can we all just... stop it? You are all acting... weird!"
"I have no idea what you're talking about," I muttered petulantly.
"Of course you do!" he bellowed.
I gave him a blank look.
"He's blushing like a female youngling," He pointed at Sieren, who proved his point by blushing again. "He's staring at you like a love sick chomcharra." He gestured at Kieve. "And you aren't acting all bubbly and annoying or sitting in 'two dicks' lap! So what gives?"
"It's none of your business," I clipped primly.
"Like hell it isn't!" Teivel ground out, eyes shooting fire at me.
"It really isn't anyone's..." Sieren started.
"It's all your fault, isn't it?" Teivel accused, sneering at me. "You should have never come here."
"Fuck you!" I screamed, tossing my water in his face. "I am so sick of you! All you've done is berate me, mock me and accuse me of everything you could think of since I walked through that door! You are the most hateful, rude, uncouth creature I have ever encountered and I hate you!"
Teivel looked at me stunned as tears started to slowly slide down my cheeks.
I am emotional, menstruating and a million other things, damn it! I can cry if I want to!
"You want to know what happened? Fine, I'll tell you what happened," I intoned in a shrill voice.
I pointed at Kieve and Sieren.
"Two out of the three ‘horned amigos’ wouldn't listen to me when I told them I was menstruating. That it was fine for a human female to have a period! It's normal to bleed for five days on your period, but males that they are, they wouldn't listen to stupid little me and pinned me down so they could examine," I growled, making air quotes, "my shit to make sure I was okay! Do you know how embarrassing that is? How humiliating?"
"Uh..." Teivel was at a loss for words, water dripping down his face.
"My mate just let his brother look at my naughty bits! That's what I'm upset about! And nobody had my permission to do so! Happy now, Teivel? Huh? Feelin' left out now? Or do you wanna see for yourself too? Fuck you all!" I growled and stomped from the room.
"She bleeds for five days every month and hasn't died?" I heard Teivel ask the others after a long pause.
My frustrated scream from the stairs echoed throughout the whole house.
****
I woke up when I felt someone standing over me.
I cracked my eyes open to find Teivel standing over me, shirtless, a pair of flowing dark pants hanging low on his hips.
“Go away, you yellow eyed asshole,” I muttered and rolled over on the little sofa I had decided to sleep on, putting the blanket over my head.
Kieve was smart enough to leave me alone tonight and didn’t try to move me back to our bed.
“You’re a mean little thing when you’re mad,” Teivel muttered on a small chuckle.
I heard the end of the sofa creak as he sat down on one of the arms.
Go away! Why are you even here?
There was long silence before he spoke.
“They didn’t mean anything by it. Kieve was ju
st worried and Sieren is a healer. He would have examined any one of us if he thought we were hurt,” he grudgingly admitted in a gruff voice.
I growled at him from under my blanket and he pulled it back to look at my face.
“Don’t be stupid, human. You’re hurting your mate for trying to take care of you.”
I slapped at his hands and pulled my blanket back.
He growled in frustration and tossed a pillow at my head.
I grumbled back.
I heard the telltale creak of him getting up and walking away.
Good! Be gone, demon!
Frustrated, I laid there listening to the quiet of the house.
“Damn it,” I grumbled when I really thought about what he’d said.
Stupid… yellow eyed bastard…
I got up and dragged my blanket with me as I trudged up the stairs.
Opening the door slowly, I crept inside.
It was dark in the room and I stumbled around a bit as I tried to navigate my way to the bed.
The room suddenly lit up and I blinked my eyes rapidly, trying to adjust to the light as it blinded me.
Before I could, though, I was scooped up in Kieve’s arms and he was kissing my lips eagerly, murmuring sweetly to me between kisses as he carried me to the bed.
“I’m sorry, baby,” he apologized, hugging me tight to his chest.
“I uh... I’m sorry too,” I mumbled, snuggling against him. “But, if you ever do something like that to me ever again, I’ll make good on my promise to bite them off. Deal?” I barked in a tone that brooked no further argument.
“Deal.” He grinned, smiling against my hair.
“Good, now shut up and go to sleep. You’re much more comfortable than the couch and silly me, I can’t seem to sleep without you.”
“I love you, Lil,” he sighed contentedly, settling us into the bed.
“I love you too.”
I closed my eyes and let out a happy sigh.
“Kieve?” I cracked an eye open.
“Yeah, baby?” he asked, kissing my temple.
“Turn the damned light off!” I huffed in mock anger.
He laughed deep in his belly, shaking me and the bed as he reached over to turn it off.
“You have my heart, mate,” he chuckled, nuzzling me.
“Of course you do,” I said haughtily, “I put up with your crap. Hey! Watch the horns, buddy, you could poke an eye out with those!”
Chapter 12
“Are you done with your... um... period?” Kieve asked as he helped me down from my mount.
“Maybe,” I teased, knowing he knew darn good and well that I was.
He’d finally stopped asking me how it was going.
“Why did you name your talanax Licorice?” he asked curiously, referring to the big black beastie I’d grown quite fond of.
They were funny looking creatures with wide bodies, thick muscular legs and long thickened necks.
Their heads remind me of a turtle’s almost...wide and kinda flat, eyes set off slightly to the sides, but they bulged out of their heads and moved around constantly, taking everything in.
“The color of his coat reminds me of black licorice. It’s a candy where I come from.” I smoothed my hand down the long furry coat and laughed when Licorice nuzzled my hand.
Once the talanax were settled, we made our way to the house.
There was a commotion as we got closer.
“You can’t seriously expect me to live in this... hovel with you. No, it simply won’t do,” a sharp feminine voice sniped.
We walked up hand in hand and I swung our entwined hands between us, humming along to one of my favorite songs.
It was the last one I’d heard when I was on Earth, one of my favorite bands too.
But hey, who doesn’t love The Lumineers?
I hummed a few more bars.
God, I love that song.
We opened the screen door and took everything in, wide eyed.
My humming ceased and I whistled low.
Man, that’s a lot of crap.
There were bags overflowing the entryway to the house, like a pile up at the airport baggage claim or something.
Where’s a loud speaker when you need one, huh?
Excuse me, Sir or Madame, come get all your shit, your causing an unnecessary pile up!
We both glanced at each other and shrugged, stepping over them together, heading to the kitchen to eat lunch.
“We’ll just have to move,” the feminine voice shrilled from the living room.
“I’m not moving,” Teivel replied in an oddly patient voice, but you could hear the impatient undertone.
I snorted.
Let’s see how long he can keep that up before he cracks.
‘Teila?’ I mouthed to Kieve.
‘I think so,’ he mouthed back.
I grinned suddenly and elbowed him, cutting him off as I took off.
I raced ahead of him and beat him to the sink, running my hands under it to turn it on.
I shimmied a little in place in a little victory dance, waggling my rump at him.
Kieve hip bumped me and tried to push me out of the way.
I dug my feet in and kept my place.
We laughed as we wrestled each other for the soap and tried to wash our hands at the same time.
“Are you two always like this?” Sieren asked, chuckling as he set platters on the table.
We both glanced over at him.
“Whatever do you mean?” I smiled sweetly, winking at him.
He grinned and winked back.
Kieve pulled me in and gave me a big smacking kiss.
I gripped his shirt and pulled back when I caught something out of the corner of my eye.
“Looks like you got something on your shirt,” I told Kieve, pulling his shirt out to show him.
“Huh. I’ll be right back.” He kissed me quickly, then headed upstairs to change.
“Lil, could you put this by the door for me? I’ll take it out later.” Sieren looked up hopefully, handing me a bucket filled with scraps for his compost pile.
“Sure.” I took it and headed for the door.
I walked back towards the kitchen after I was done and was stopped when I bumped into someone’s back.
“Whoops, sorry,” I laughed, jumping back.
“Oh, good,” a tall, red female in a large furry coat said, not bothering to look back. “Put those in my room and unpack them.” She waved her hand in a flippant gesture and sauntered off.
Oh, joy, she’s gonna be fuuuun. I can just tell.
Hah! You’re funny, lady.
I stepped over her luggage again and went back into the kitchen.
She’ll figure out I’m not 'the help' soon enough.
I walked over to the counter quietly and picked at the dish Sieren had sitting there to cool.
Mmmm... yummy! I thought as flavor exploded on my tongue, sneaking the first taste.
“Get outta there, chomcharra,” Sieren warned, his back to me.
I gaped a little at the back of his head. He hadn’t even turned around, he just knew.
“How do you always know?” I frowned, eyeing the back of his head, “It’s like you have eyes back there or something.”
“Maybe I do,” he joked.
Kieve came back in with a clean shirt on as I finished setting the table.
We all walked over to sit at the same time.
Teivel and his lady bride came in as Kieve sat down and yanked me into his lap.
The Sodraden female, Teila, was really tall, probably six foot, at least, and had shoulder length black hair.
She was rail thin and wore skin tight clothes that made her look like a red pencil wrapped in spandex.
Guess she decided to ditch the coat.
What little she had on left nothing to the imagination.
Teila didn’t have horns on her head, so I guess those are only for the males.
She sat down across from Kie
ve and me, careful to look anywhere but at us, making my perusal of her much easier.
“Teila, these are my brothers, Sieren and Kieve. The female in Kieve’s lap is his mate, Lil,” Teivel said politely to his intended.
She studied me and frowned.
“You mean you mated 'the help' to him?” she gasped, scandalized, eyeing me like I was pitiful.
“Nope,” I chimed in, wrapping one of Kieve’s arms around my waist, “I mated him all on my own and I’m no more 'the help' than you are, Twila.”
I gave her a sickeningly sweet smile and dismissed her, asking Sieren to pass the green potato tasting thingies.
“It’s Teila.”
“Right. Right,” I said dismissively, irritating her further.
Skank! Bad mouth my man, will she?
Hah! Female doesn’t know who she’s toying with!
Teila pursed her lips, but didn’t comment any further.

“We’re all alone now,” I whispered to Kieve later that night, walking backwards into our room, pulling him by the ties of his shirt.
“Oh, are we?” Kieve teased, letting me pull him along.
“Mmm, hmm.” I nodded at him, reaching around him to close and lock the door.
I pushed his chest and he leaned against the door.
“What are you doing, baby?” he whispered huskily, letting out a noise of approval when I untied his pants and tugged them down his thighs.
“I’m still hungry,” I purred, licking my lips, “I thought you could give me some… dessert.”
I knelt down in front of him and nipped at his hip bones.
“I’m glad you fixed the door,” I murmured, blowing on the heads of his cocks.
“And why is that?” His voice was getting all deep and sexy, making me wet with want.
“So I could do this.” I swallowed one of his thickened shafts down my throat, relaxing my throat muscles to take him down as far as I could.
I sucked hard as I let him slide out and slurped him back in, taking him in as far as I could again.
I let him slide out and gave his other cock the same treatment.
I gripped his neglected shaft with one hand, pumping him eagerly, reaching up with my other hand to fondle his balls.
He moaned, long and low and let his head fall back against the door.
