“Nope.” She sipped her coffee.
“Really?”
She looked at him as if he had lost his mind. “You do know the whole essence of me deciding to have a one-night stand with a stranger, as opposed to any of my male friends at the club that night, was that I never had to see you again, right?” His face dropped.
“Hmm,” he said solemnly
“What hmmm?”
“Well, it’s kind of ironic for me you see.” He laughed as he tried his best to explain. “While I have spent all of three weeks trying to track you down and arrange the perfect accidental meet up, you haven’t spent a minute thinking about me.”
“What’s the irony in that?”
“It’s usually the other way around you see.” He smiled sadly. “I’m usually the one being chased by women.”
“First time for everything?”
“I guess,” he said. “Well, we will have to start planning the wedding before you start showing.” His words were greeted with her choking on a sip of her coffee.
“You are joking.”
“No, joking would be your friend telling my mom about your pregnancy.”
“What, so you are going to punish me for her mistake?” Zara was flabbergasted.
“Marriage to me is more like a reward darling, not punishment.”
“Not if that’s not what I want.” Zara stood up. “I never wanted any of this.”
He became angry. He had always had the mentality that any woman would be lucky to be married to him, he had a lot to offer, and what did she have? She would benefit much more than he would from a marriage, so what did she have to be so reluctant about?
“Well you should have thought of that before you got me drunk and seduced me. I bet you knew who I was. How am I to know this isn’t just a ruse so you can worm your way into my life?” He threw verbal jabs at her, trying desperately to hurt her like she had hurt him. He didn’t care if he was being childish. He was well aware that he had approached her first and she had done nothing to lead him to it, but at that moment his pride was hurt and he wanted to hurt her back. However, Nathan was unprepared for her to flare up, angrier than she had been minutes before, and challenge him with words of her own.
“Because,” she said in response to his question, her voice louder than his had been. She didn’t look like she cared if they had an audience or not, with her hair in untamed curls framing her face and her very expressive eyes lit up, Nathan could only term her as looking like a very sexy fiery goddess. “First thing tomorrow, I’m getting rid of this baby,” she breathed the words. “That’s how.”
“You wouldn’t dare,” he gasped, all goddess thoughts gone from his mind. She was bluffing. He was sure of it. But Nathan had to admit that despite knowing her in biblical terms, she was as much a stranger to him as he was to her. He didn’t know her at all and he would be stupid to underestimate her, and Nathan was no fool.
“Oh, I would very much dare.” She smiled a devilish looking smile. “You see, I would rather get rid of this baby than spend the rest of my life with a prideful goat like you. That’s how much I don’t want to worm even a tiny little hair on my head into your life.” She looked stone cold. “You rich people are all the same.” Nathan watched silently as she picked up her bag and left him there...still sitting down, but with an excited look on his face. No woman had ever stood up to him like that before. He smiled, he was going to marry that girl.

“So, she’s pregnant?” his mother asked when he finally made his way back home.
“Yes, mother.”
“And you are sure it's yours?” She handed him a cup of tea and came over to sit by his side.
“Yes, mother.”
“What do you want to do about it?” she asked. It was very like his mother to leave him to make his own decisions on things, and for that he loved her and respected her. Most of his friends had controlling mothers who refused to believe that they had sons capable of making decisions themselves, but he had had that freedom at a very young age, and Nathan accredited the majority of his success to that.
“I’m going to win her over,” he answered his mom’s question. If he could win big companies with a lot of high-ranking people on the board of directors over, Zara shouldn’t be too difficult to win. He hoped to God that he was right. He knew he hardly knew her, and that was something he would have to change if she was going to be the mother of his children—he wasn’t planning on stopping with just one child.
His phone rang, and he checked who it was before he answered.
“Hello, Aisha,” he said cautiously into the receiver. He didn’t know what Zara’s best friend was playing at by calling him, but Nathan believed that it would be best to listen to her, instead of jumping to conclusions like he was wont to do.
“Still not talking to me, huh?” Aisha said again. Zara didn’t know how many times Aisha had tried to get her to talk, nor did she care. All she knew was that her best friend wasn’t a dimwit and therefore wouldn’t just expose something so delicate, so she didn’t believe her excuse that it had been a mistake. But until she knew what Aisha’s game was, she was keeping all her emotions in an airtight jar, locked away, not to be viewed even by her.
“I told you that I’m sorry though,” Aisha said. “It just slipped out.” Zara just looked at her, a blank expression on her face and went back to reading an article on the perfect closure install.
“Anyway, I have a surprise for you that is bound to change your mood once it gets here.”
It? Zara wanted to ask what it was, but she wasn’t going to. She was almost positive that it was just a ruse to get her to talk to her again, and she wasn’t going to be falling for that. She turned around in her bed, giving Aisha her back, a clear indication that she wasn’t interested in finding out what the surprise was, although all her senses were aflame with curiosity.
“He’s here,” she heard Aisha exclaim. She listened to her walk towards the door, but she didn’t move until she heard him.
“Hi, Aisha.”
Zara jumped off the bed and came face to face with Nathan. God, how was it possible that he looked even better today than he had looked yesterday? He had his hair all swept back and shiny. Even with a plain white tee and some ripped jeans on, he looked like some sweet yummy candy, and Zara found her mind moving back to their time together at the club.
“What are you doing here?” she asked instead, hoping he hadn’t noticed her initial reaction.
“I invited him,” Aisha said, standing close to him like she was some sort of bodyguard.
“Aisha?” Zara looked at her dumbfounded. “How dare you?” She couldn’t believe Aisha was messing with her like this, couldn’t understand why she would do something like that to her. What was her plan? What was this game she seemed to be playing? What was she hoping to achieve with this?
“No need to thank me,” Aisha said with a smile. “So, see you later then?” Aisha left through the door, barely giving Zara a backward glance.
The door closed with a quiet thud, leaving Nathan and Zara in the little apartment alone.
“So, what are you reading?” Nathan asked, closing the gap between them. Zara felt her palms get sweaty. She didn’t know if it was because they were the only two people in a room that was predominantly filled with a bed, or if it was the man himself making her whole body aware, but she suddenly felt too hot in her clothes and wanted to rip them off her skin.
“Something for work,” she replied, very self-conscious. She wore just an old t-shirt that she had had for as long as she could remember, the shirt barely brushed her mid-thigh, and it was the least sexy thing she owned.
“Is it any help?” Nathan asked, now next to her. He took a seat comfortably on the bed, tugging at her hands so she lost her balance and fell on him.
“Hey!” she said, more self-conscious than ever as her shirt rode up higher exposing her white cotton panties. She struggled to get up, but he wouldn’t let her.
&n
bsp; “Relax Zara, he whispered into her ear when he had her firmly pinned on the bed beside him. “What are you afraid of?”
I’m afraid of how I feel when I'm close to you, my body lights up like you have my switch, she thought to herself, never saying any of the words aloud.
He moved some of her hair that had fallen off her face and stared at her for such a long moment, Zara wondered what he saw.
“You are so beautiful,” he said softly, his gaze never leaving her. “Thoughts of you haunted me for such a long time, I feared we would never see each other again.”
“How did you find me?” she asked.
“Oh, I always knew where you lived, my driver dropped you home, remember?” He moved his hands caressingly on her face. “But for some reason, I never had the courage to approach you. I feared your reaction.” His touch was feather light on her face, barely even there, but her whole body was on fire, lit up and ready. Her nipples ached and her pussy throbbed, she wanted to feel his soft touches down there, wanted to feel the passion that she knew only he was capable of giving to her.
Zara wasn’t thinking anymore, she was barely even breathing. She kissed him before she could change her mind, engulfed in the very familiar pleasure that was his lips on hers.
He didn’t pull away. He clung to her, as if scared that she would change her mind and pull away, but Nathan was greatly underestimating Zara's need. She kissed him with so much passion, using her tongue as a weapon of pleasure as she caressed his mouth with it. Not needing to persuade him to let her in, she wrestled and teased him with it. He groaned into her mouth, and Zara could feel his hands creep up her shirt, and trace her soft white cotton panties. She could feel him slowly pull them down and test her heat. She was so horny that as soon as he put his finger into her pussy, she felt her wetness flood him. She moaned softly into his mouth as her hands went to his dick. She got wetter seeing that he already had it out, hard and ready to invade her wet pussy. She wasn’t thinking and she wanted to feel him fill her up immediately, so she climbed on top of him and moaned in pleasure as she felt him there. Her pussy got wetter with every move that she made, slowly sinking down on his very hard protruding organ until she had taken all of him.
“It feels like I have dreamt of this for a long time,” he said once she had completely swallowed his dick in her wetness. “For so long I dreamt of that night.” She started to rock back and forth as his words made her feel sexy, made her feel wanted. “I drove my friends crazy talking about you.”
She moved faster, the sensation his big dick had on her pussy unbelievable. Had sex always felt so good? She doubted it, there was no way she had experienced this magnitude of pleasure before him, else she would never have given it up. She was so damn near completion, but it eluded her. Nathan seemed to sense her frustration as he moved so he was on top and began to move in her, with so much speed and ferocity.
“I…want…you…” he moaned into her ear as he spilled his seed into her.
“Shut the hell up!” she screamed as she joined him in ecstasy, loving every minute of it.

“Why do you like me?” Zara asked Nathan. They had been in bed for three days straight, all alone in their little cocoon. Nathan had practically had to beg her to stay with him, she had lamented about needing to go to work and had gotten pissed when he had said he would pay for her to stay with him.
“What, do you think I'm some kind of hooker?” she had asked angrily, pushing him off her and trying to leave the room, but he had refused to let her.
“That’s not what I meant,” he had said. “It came out wrong.”
“All you rich people are the same.” She had struggled, and he had gotten angry then and released her.
“You said that once before and I ignored it, but I'm sick and tired of the category.” He had gotten up from the bed as well. “What makes you think you are better than me.”
“Better than you? You are the one that just tried to buy my time.”
“If you had been listening, you would know that that came out wrong. I just didn’t want you to leave.”
“Well, there are better ways of saying that. You can't fix everything with money you know,” she had said, calm again. He had taken her hands then and dragged her to him, engulfing her in his arms.
“Please stay with me,” he had said in her ear. That had seemed to melt all the ferocity away, because the next thing he knew, she had been cuddling him tighter and smiling at him
“Ok,” she had replied as she relaxed into his arms.
“In all honesty," Nathan said replying to her question, "I truly do not know why I like you.” He spoke so softly, brushing her lips with his thumb. “You make me feel different when I'm with you, I feel normal, relaxed.” His thumb moved to the nape of her neck.
“Coming from one of the richest families in the city has its benefits, but it's mostly filled with work, and you never find anyone that genuinely just wants to be with you with no strings attached. Even women from wealthy families want to be married into the Lamperts. But you, you made me feel different. I was scared that would change when you knew my family name, but you are still the same.” He kissed her cheeks softly and continued his speech. “I want to see where this goes baby, I want us to raise this child together, as a family.” He put his left palm on her belly which was still flat and not yet showing as he said this. "I want to be with you."
“I can't think of marriage right now," Zara lowered her eyes. "I barely know you.” She whispered the words. He could hear the fear in her voice, fear he wanted to banish from her life forever.
“Then we shall take it slow, see where things lead.” He smiled encouragingly at her, lifting her face up with his thumb so he could look into her eyes. “There is no rush baby girl.” His heartbeat increased a little when she smiled back at him.
“I like it when you call me baby girl.” She laughed.
“You will get tired of hearing me say that.” He laughed right back, loving the sweet melody their laughter made together.
“I'm not tired yet,” she said, kissing him on the lips. Nathan felt like the happiest man on the planet earth at that moment, he didn’t ever want that feeling to go away. He never wanted them to stop feeling like this, to stop being like this to each other.
When they finally decided to drag themselves out of bed and head out to face the day, their relationship already felt very solid. They had succeeded in building something between them, something very strong and something that didn't seem to be easily broken. Now all they had to do was wait for time to make it stronger.
“Don’t be harsh towards Aisha, ok? She was only trying to help,” Nathan said, kissing Zara on her cheek. “She called me and told me why she did what she did, and I understand and support her fully.”
“What did she tell you?” Zara felt like she should be angry about the apparent behavior of her best friend, but she was too relaxed to care. In that moment she was actually very grateful that Aisha had done what she had done.
“Well…in summary," Nathan continued, "she said that she knew you weren’t going to give up the baby, and even though you may eventually need it, you weren’t going to ask for help either. So she had to take matters into her own hands and give you no choice.”
“Well, my best friend trusted you over me,” Zara said sarcastically. “Isn't that just dandy.” Nathan laughed at that.
“It’s because you are stubborn that’s why,” he laughed. He seemed to be laughing so much when they were together. Zara suspected that that wasn't normal for him, and she liked the idea that she was the reason for that.
“Just hear her out ok?” he said solemnly. “Friends like that are rare and precious.”
Zara knew he was right. She and Aisha had been through so much together that whatever her reason had been in deciding to betray Zara's trust, it had to be a good one. It had turned out for the best after all, so she couldn’t complain one bit.
“When next will I be seeing you?” Nat
han asked.
“When the baby is born?” she replied jokingly.
“Hey!” he said, taking it seriously. It looked to Zara like, despite their time together, a part of him was still scared to lose her.
“Just joking,” she laughed. “Just call me when you are free and I will let you know what my schedule is like, ok?”
“Ok baby girl,” he said, hugging her.
Zara smiled. She didn’t know where this relationship—if she could even call it that—was going to lead. She didn’t know what she was up against. She wasn’t a big fan of the fact that Nathan was from one of the richest families in town, but he had accepted her for who she was and she was going to give him the benefit of the doubt and accept him for who he was as well. Nathan seemed different to her, different from every guy she had ever been with and every rich guy she had ever met. Not only that, he seemed to genuinely like her and want to be with her, and she would be silly to throw away the happiness she felt when she was with him because of previously preconceived notions, and Zara was no fool.
She hugged him tighter, thanking him for the three days of rest that he had given her. She hadn’t had to think about the fact that she was bringing a baby into the world with no support system, Nathan was their support system. Nathan would protect them until they could protect themselves. They could lean on him until they could stand on their own two feet. He was offering them something much more than finances, he was offering them his time, and Zara was more than happy to take him up on his offer.
"Just admit that I made the right decision," Aisha said, frustrated. She had seen the look her friend had thrown her way when she had betrayed her trust, and had tried to brush it off telling herself that it was the right thing to do, that her friend would thank her for it when she finally saw the big picture. But here she was, standing in front of Zara three days after she had invited Nathan into their home and gone to stay with her male friend who had tried to sleep with her at every turn, and her best friend wasn't even grateful.
