“Watch your mouth bitch. That’s your problem now. You are too damn grown,” Kyree said.
“Oh hold up, Kyree. Don’t put your hands on me again. You only have me by five years. I will clap back on your ass,” Shimmy said slapping her hands together.
“Are you talking about shooting me?” Kyree asked her.
“Bitch, I’m not your Kid so don’t Play,” she said with her slick mouth. I laughed because Shimmy’s mouth was just too much.
Mya and the girl she was with, walked past us with frowns on their faces.
“Ghetto trash,” Mya said aloud. I ignored her because I knew if I didn’t, I would’ve gotten locked up.
“Who are you talking about?” Shimmy asked them. They started laughing then walked off.
“Wait until we get outside. Oh, you just wait. Let me get a drink to calm my nerves,” Shimmy said then walked off.
“No Hands is fucking that bitch Mya is with and I don’t give a damn what you or anyone else say. I peeped their body language before we walked in,” Kyree fussed. I didn’t answer her because I didn’t know the girl Mya was with. I didn’t even know Mya like that. If Kyree thinks they are screwing each other then they might be, because No Hands had a problem. I actually think No Hands had a sex addiction.
I danced some more to the go-go music they started playing. I felt a pair of hands on my hips as I swayed them side to side. The cologne smelled familiar, but the liquor in my system wouldn’t allow me to remember who it belonged to.
“Damn shorty, you got my lil’ man trying to pop out of my shorts,” Geechie said to me. I frantically looked around to make sure Kauzie wasn’t around me. Kauzie showed out whenever he felt like it.
He turned me around then hugged while me squeezing my ass. His finger almost slid into my panties from the bottom of my shorts. Geechie started grinding into me. I smelled the alcohol and I knew he was drunk.
“Let’s go in the car so I can taste that pussy from the back,” he said kissing me in the ear.
“Tokyo, you got five seconds before Kauzie grow some wings and fly over here,” Kyree said. Geechie sucked his teeth as he continued to rub on me.
Before I could react, my body was being yanked back and it was nobody other than Kauzie. He was standing there with his cocky grin and his arms crossed. I knew what that meant. He was ready to swing on Geechie. I pulled Kauzie back.
“What the fuck. Chill out,” I screamed on him. He kissed my lips then palmed me from the bottom hugging me.
“Umphhh,” he said biting his lip pissing Geechie off. Kauzie’s cockiness was a huge turn on to me.
“What’s good nigga? You got a problem with your hands?” Kauzie asked Geechie.
“Naw muthafucka, do you?” Geechie asked sticking his chest out. Kauzie laughed then looked at me.
“Damn, Tokyo, this nigga getting swole ain’t he?” Kauzie asked me laughing.
“Walk outside, Tokyo,” Kauzie said to me. His eyes flashed with anger and I knew that look. He was angry. I wish I could kiss his lips and tell him I didn’t want nobody but him, but I couldn’t. I betrayed Tassana more times than enough.
“I’ll talk to you later, Geechie,” I said walking through the crowd. Geechie said something, but I couldn’t hear because of the loud music.
When I got outside in the parking lot, Kauzie was in my face pissed off.
“So you gonna disrespect me like that, huh? Why you had that nigga feeling on you and shit? What’s up with that? Are you fucking that nigga?” he asked getting closer in my face. I backed up.
“Chill the hell out,” I said to him.
“Naw shorty, I can’t do that. Are you fucking that nigga? You had better not be. What the fuck are you wearing this shit for anyway? Who are you trying to catch?” he asked pulling my shorts down. I smacked his hand away then he licked his lips. He smirked showing his platinum-gold and diamond, bottom-row teeth. I rolled my eyes.
“Roll your eyes all you want to. I don’t give a fuck about that. What’s up with you and that nigga? Why are you pretending like you are feeling him? That nigga ain’t me, Tokyo,” he said tracing his finger down my face.
“What time are we leaving?” Mya asked walking towards us. I looked at Kauzie and grilled him. The nerve of him.
“You mad about another nigga when you got this bitch in your face? Seriously?” I asked grilling Mya. She put her hand on her hip grilling me back. Kauzie was in the middle of us. If it wasn’t for him standing between us, I would’ve slapped that frown off of Mya’s face.
“What’s the problem?” Mya asked.
“The problem is you fucking my man. That’s what’s going on,” I said, letting it slip out. Kauzie smiled at me then tapped my ass.
“I know he has a woman, but that doesn’t have shit to do with me. He and I have an agreement and it’s not meant to be broken,” she boldly stated.
“Oh, really?” I asked taking my shoes off. I was about to slap the taste out of her mouth.
“Chill the hell out, Tokyo,” Kauzie said pushing me back.
“After you just rained down on my parade, now you want me to chill out? Kauzie, you got the game fucked up,” I said snatching away from him.
“Oh hoe, you don’t want it with me,” Mya yelled. A crowd started forming.
“Let’s get to it then bitch. He is not leaving with you honey. He knows better. If I tell that nigga to ditch your ass trust and believe me, he will. So, what you wanna do?” I asked her.
She looked at Kauzie and he shrugged his shoulders. I smiled at Mya.
I put my shoes back on. “Kauzie, take me home now nigga,” I said walking towards his truck. He followed behind me as Mya called his name. He never answered her as he unlocked the door. I sent Kyree a message letting her know I was leaving with Kauzie.
When we got to a red light, he looked at me. I was slowly falling apart on the inside. I have never realized how much he loved me. He had looked at me that way a million times and not once have I known there were strong feelings behind it. I turned my head to look out of the window.
“Why are you so quiet, Tokyo? You took my virginity and this how you do me, huh? Shorty, don’t you ever let a nigga touch you like that again. I mean that shit,” he said.
“Your virginity? Seriously?” I asked him giggling. He looked at me then licked his sexy lips.
“My mouth was a virgin. I gave you the tongue and now you saying fuck a nigga,” he said feeling on my leg. I smacked his hand away.
“Keep your hands to yourself nigga, damn,” I said to him.
“Shut the fuck up before I tie your ass up and rape you,” he said grabbing my breasts.
“Can I suck your titties?” he asked then burst out into laugher. I mushed him then laughed with him.
“Leave me alone boy. I’m not in the mood,” I said.
“Talk to me then. You used to tell me everything. What’s going on with you?” he asked me.
“Sometimes we want what we can’t have,” I said looking back out of the window.
“What you want? I would try my best to give it to you, but you got to tell me what’s up, Tokyo. This ain’t you. Are you pregnant? Why are you emotional?” he asked me. If Kauzie asked me that one more time, I was slapping him.
“Stop asking me that shit, Kauzie. I’m not having a damn baby,” I said to him. He grabbed my hand. “You don’t want to have my seed for real? That’s fucked up,” he said laughing.
“What’s your biggest fear, Kauzie?” I asked him. Kauzie acted as if nothing fazed him. His attitude was always nonchalant.
“Just put me on blast like that, huh?” he asked me.
“What is it? You seem like you don’t care about nothing sometimes. Just like you don’t care if Tassana is hurting or not. Do you care that she might be going through something? Y’all have been together for years. You have to feel like what we have done was wrong,” I said.
He let out a big breath then made a U-turn.
“I fear losing you to another
nigga. I fear that while I’m stuck with Tassana life would pass me by. I fear that a nigga might come along and put a ring on your finger. You might give him children. I know it’s selfish, but I don’t want you to be happy with another nigga. That shit with Darrion was fucking with me,” he said.
“Tassana really loves you,” I said wanting to tell him she was sick and needed him, but I promised her I wouldn’t tell him.
Kauzie laughed. “Honestly, I love her too. But it’s not the love that makes a nigga want to marry her. It’s not the love that makes me want to knock her up. Tassana doesn’t love me neither. Y’all keep thinking that girl got feelings for a nigga. She only wanted me because she was jealous of our friendship. I should’ve looked past it, but I was a young nigga,” he said.
“You wanted her because she was prissy. I was a hood rat. I’m still considered a hood rat. Let’s face it. You liked her because of how she carried herself,” I said crossing my arms.
“I admit that was what it was. But when I got older, I started noticing that shit like that doesn’t matter. You like someone you like them. I think that’s why I fell in love with you. You do whatever you want and don’t care what the next nigga thinks. Purple hair, blue hair it doesn’t matter. You wear that shit with pride,” he said laughing.
He pulled up to an old big house. It looked creepy. The other houses around it was beautiful, but this house looked like a family had died in it and their spirits were still floating around.
“Why are we here? You know I was always scared of Amityville Horror, the movie and now you got me in front of the damn house. If a ghost waves at me from the window in the attic, I’m getting the hell out of here,” I fussed. Kauzie hopped out then opened up my door.
“Oh, nigga, you think I’m joking? I’m not going in that house. If we go in, we are never coming back out. Oh, Lord, I hear someone whispering my name,” I said, and then he chuckled. He yanked me out of the truck.
“You know I wouldn’t do shit to hurt your simple ass. Girl, chill the hell out,” he said pulling me towards the house.
He went into his pocket then got a key out. When he unlocked the door, it creaked. Chills ran down my spine. I hate spooky shit.
When I walked in, the smell of paint hit me. Kauzie hit a light switch. My mouth dropped as I looked around.
There were ladders and tools lying around. You can tell that it was being remodeled. I could tell that it was going to be beautiful house.
Kauzie wrapped his arms around my hips then kissed my neck. “This is what love is, Tokyo. When it makes a nigga do shit like this,” he said into my ear.
“Tassana will love it,” I said sadly. This had to be the house Tassana asked me about.
“Shorty, this is for you. Tassana ain’t loving shit that has nothing to do with her,” he said.
“Why did you do this?” I asked as my voice cracked.
“We deserve it. Let’s look upstairs,” he said pulling me towards the stairs. It was a four-bedroom house with two and a half bathrooms. It was a family house. A house you fill up with kids. I couldn’t do this. As happy as I wanted to be, I couldn’t. I had to get Tassana and Kauzie back on track. Tassana was depending on me. By the time I was done, hopefully she would be moving into this house.
“So, what do you think?” he asked me smiling. I wanted to yell at him and tell him to stop making me fall deeper in love with him. I wanted to slap him. I wanted to be angry at him, but I couldn’t. I actually found a man to accept me for me and love me for me, but he belonged to another woman.
I wiped my tear away. “It’s beautiful. Why so much house?” I asked. His hand brushed up against my mid-section.
“Why do you think?” he asked me.
“You want me to give you a baby, huh?” I asked giggling.
“Your ass is knocked up and I don’t give a fuck what you say,” he said walking towards the door.
“Cocky ass,” I said walking towards the door.
“Let me be that. You love that shit though, especially when I rub up on that big ass. Shorty, you are smitten with a nigga,” he said. I blushed then waved him off. I got back into the truck as Kauzie locked up the house.
Once we backed out of the driveway, we headed to downtown Annapolis.
The drinks and the weed started catching up to me and I was getting tired.
“Where are we going? I’m tired, Kauzie,” I said.
“We are going to get a suite then cuddle. Don’t y’all females like that mushy shit?” he asked me.
“Heck no, miss me with that mushy shit,” I joked.
“You don’t want me to wash your back, make love to you then cuddle with your ratchet ass? I’m not eating your pussy no more. That shit got me on some sucka shit,” he fussed.
“That’s that sweet stuff. That shit make a nigga cray-cray,” I squeezed his cheek.
“Don’t play with me, Tokyo. That shit would make a nigga kill a nigga too,” he said.
“I don’t have any clothes with me,” I said.
“Worry about that shit later. I’m tired,” he said.
After we checked in, Kauzie and I took a shower together. After we got out, we dried off. He didn’t try anything with me. He just kissed my lips then went to sleep, holding me in his strong arms. He felt so good close to me; his body was made to be molded against mine. I was confused at this point. How could a man be so perfect for me when it was not meant for us to be together?
One week later…
Tassana was ready to leave for her treatment. It was time for me to switch. I hope this didn’t backfire. What if Kauzie could tell us apart?
“This shit is tight,” I complained about the girdle Tassana made me wear. We were built exactly the same, but my stomach stuck out when hers didn’t. I really needed to lie off the beer.
“You got to do it, Tokyo,” she said with a scarf around her head. She had been coughing all morning.
“How does Kauzie not know you are sick?” I asked her.
“He thinks I just have a cold. Plus, he is never home,” she said to me. This was a stupid idea and I was having second thoughts. It had to be another way Kauzie can fall in love with Tassana again.
“Do you think this is a good idea?” I asked her.
“The only one I came up with. Damn it, Tokyo, are you having second thoughts? If so, get rid of them. I wouldn’t be in this situation if you never fucked him,” she spat rudely.
“But I’m supposed to be you. What if he doesn’t love you at all? Then what?” I asked.
“Then we will find out. But for the time being, you will pretend to be me and use what you know about him to get him to loving me again,” she said. All I could think about was Kauzie telling me how he much loved me.
“How do I look?” I asked her then she smiled.
“Like Tassana. With that girdle on you look just like me. The hair, the nails, everything,” she said smiling. I stood in the mirror and looked at myself. I was lost already. My weave was down to my ass, my nails were short and makeup was plain. My colorful hair and long nails was what defined me. It was my look that separated me from being a twin. I no longer felt like Tokyo. She took her necklace off putting it around my neck. It was a gold diamond heart pendant on it. Kauzie bought that for her on Valentine’s Day when they were in high school. She never took it off.
“How about tattoos? Do you have any?” she asked me.
“Nope, do you?” I asked her.
“None at all,” she said to me.
“Work it girl,” Tassana said checking me out. I slightly smiled.
“I know you love Kauzie, but at the end of the day he belongs to me. Always have and always will. Try to get him to stop using condoms. I’m trying to have a baby after my treatment. I want to try and live my life as much as I can because I don’t know how much time I will have,” she said to me.
“Well, it’s time for me to go. My ride will be here,” she said giving me her purse.
“You have to use my ID and my car.
I will get another ID later,” she said to me.
“You look perfect. It’s like looking in the mirror,” she said to me walking to the door.
“Your new cell phone is in the purse. I’m sure Kauzie’s nosey ass knows your phone like the back of his hand,” she said hugging me.
She started crying and I rubbed her back.
“It’s okay. You want me to come with you? You want me to drive you to the hospital?” I asked her.
“No, Kai is going to take me. I’m just scared. What if I don’t make it? What if Kauzie gives up on me? I would be a sick, lonely bitch,” she cried.
“You will have me,” I said.
“I know. Thanks, Tokyo. I will call you later. Kai is around front waiting for me,” she said. She kissed my cheek then walked out of my apartment.
