Jim had breakfast and made his way home after calling Jackie saying he was on the way and to put an exercise book in her knickers as she was getting spanked.
Jim arrived at HQ’s where he sat with Vicky going over other issues helping her with the paperwork. Then went home to find Jackie already waiting for him in her sexy underwear, he dumped his case as he was dragged into the bedroom where he was forced into submission as his head was dragged between Jackie’s thighs as he feasted on her until she screamed out loud ‘Broadbent don’t you dare stop, don’t you dare stop, oh Jim yes, Jim yes.’ The night was filled with passion and lust; when finished after being well and truly abused, Jim lay back and thought what a job, being loved to death in the states, then in Spain and now in the UK. He closed his eyes smiling to himself as he went sleep.

Jim was sat in his office when he received a call from one of the senior CPS lawyers who requested he attend a conference with Langton in the morning.
Jim confirmed with Langton a convenient time also asking if he was aware what the meeting was for. Langton shrugged his shoulders and shook his head as he returned to the pile of papers on his desk.
Jim sat with Vicky going over the next case to be investigated giving her the pointers she needed.
The days end came as he decided to visit his old haunt the Nags Head. As soon as he entered he was greeted by waves and shouts. This was exactly the same as he had remembered before he and June split. The banter and comradery of those at the coalface brought it all back, but there was no way he was getting pissed, but he enjoyed a couple of pints in good company.
He made it home after a couple of hours, Jackie was already home and had cooked the dinner. As he came in she stood like June had after one of his sessions tapping her foot and arms folded. Then she came out with one of her sayings. ‘Remember Alexander Graham Bell, he invented the telephone, why didn’t you call?’ ‘Sorry babes I popped into the Nags Head for a quick one.’ She smiled and said ‘I know, one of my colleagues saw you there I was just winding you up.’ Jim smiled as he took hold of her and gave her a big kiss. ‘Right get changed dinners cooked and nearly spoiled.’
Jim arrived at HQ’s the next day where he was informed by the CPS lawyer that an appeal had been lodged by Forsyth and because of a discredited scientist in another case they weren’t going to fight it. Jim looked at Langton and the lawyer who remained stone faced. Jim then said ‘what has been found out regarding the scientist to rule out a murder conviction.’ The CPS lawyer then said ‘the DNA exhibits were mishandled and as a result another case has had to be dropped; the defence barrister for Forsyth has picked up on it; we cannot refute what had happened in the previous case and so we will not run another trial, rather than lose face and waste public funds we are not fighting the appeal as the defence will insist on introducing the evidence of the previous mishandling of the DNA exhibits calling for no case to answer.’
Jim left the office leaving Langton and the lawyer talking. He went outside and walked around the grounds again as he said to himself, ‘I knew it, I fucking knew I was right, Yvonne has got him out of prison now he has served his purpose after draining Sands of all he knew.’
Jim called Yvonne ‘I was right then, the appeal has been lodged, what now?’ ‘Oh Jim don’t feel so sad it’s all worked out for the best, Forsyth has already left the country and gone somewhere with his family, shall we say to warmer climes; so another case ends up being closed, but thank Jim, until the next time.’
That was it he had nowhere to go, but to close another chapter, no matter how unsatisfactory, the spooks had won again, albeit silently they had won.
Jim kicked a pile of leaves then went back to work and smiled as he thought of all the good times he’d had.
Then he thought as he smiled; okay Yvonne, you wait until the next time….
