“Julie,” said Sean, “I know I’ve told you this in private, but now I’m telling you in front of our friends.” He smiled down into her eyes, and Julie didn’t think it was possible for one human being to feel this safe, protected, and loved. “I love you. I love you so much…” He took a deep breath. She knew he’d been more afraid last Wednesday than he’d ever been, and it would take him a while to get over it. She intended to be there for him every step of the way until he did.
“I love you. I’ve been smitten with you for decades, and I was a damn fool to wait this long before doing something about it. I want to be with you for the rest of my life.”
“I love you, too, Sean. So very much. And I want to be with you, too, for as long as I live. I want to be submissive to you and owned by you. I give this gift to you freely, and because I love you so much.”
Sean slipped the gold necklace around her neck and moved behind her to hold it closed while Maddox spoke. Sean and Maddox had designed it together, but Julie hadn’t seen it until tonight. It was simple, just like Julie would have chosen for herself. Two intertwined hearts woven around a padlock. She couldn’t have envisioned a more perfect symbol of her love for them, or theirs for her.
“Julie, I never thought I’d crawl out of my shell or give my heart away again, but then I saw you after so many years, in this very room, and I knew something inside me had finally shifted. I love you more than I can put into words. I want to be with you forever.”
Julie reached up and brushed a tear from her face. “I love you, too, Maddox. More than I would have thought possible. I want to be with you forever, too. I give my submission to you freely. I want you to own me. I want to belong to you.”
Maddox stepped behind her and fastened the necklace. Even though they’d designed it so that Julie could remove it herself, she knew she never would. She didn’t want to. They helped her stand, and everyone clapped. She watched Alexa put a hand over her heart and Kari wipe away her tears.
Sean pulled her into his arms and held her tightly. “Thank you,” he whispered.
“No, thank you, Sean. This is what I’ve always wanted.”
Maddox hugged her then, picking her up and twirling her around the room until she was dizzy. “Thank you, Julie.”
“Thank you, Maddox. I’ve never been this happy.”
Maddox poured champagne for the group, and Chase raised his glass first. “To Julie, Sean and Maddox. May they always be as happy and in love as they are right now.”
“Hear, hear.”
As Julie raised her glass then sipped her drink, her gaze rested on Sean and Maddox—her two lovers, partners, and Doms. She still found it difficult to get used to the idea that every secret desire and fantasy she’d ever had was now a reality. All her dreams had come true. And now she had the rest of her life to give them her submission, and her love.
