An Accidental Love Affair

His eyes widened in arousal, their blue going almost black. “You, Nicole DeLancey, are going to be a handful.”
She considered the hands in question. “Yours look big enough to handle the job.” She yanked her T-shirt up and off, dropping it to the floor. Taking a backward step down the hall, she kicked her shoes off as she went. She unbuttoned her jeans, whisked the zipper down, and wiggled her hips to get them to drop.
Reece followed, stopping here and there to retrieve her articles of clothing. “I am going to make you sorry for this, Nicole,” he warned.
Her voice grew husky. “I’m looking forward to it, Colin.”
He bolted to her side, pushing her up against the wall. “Say my name again.”
“Colin.”
He slid his chest up and down her torso. “I want to hear you moan it in my ear as I take you. You’re going to scream it when I make you cum.”
She shivered in arousal. “And how should I say it when I want you in my mouth?” She reached between their bodies, stroking him.
He closed his eyes, backing away. “Go turn on the shower, Nicole. I’ll join you shortly.”
“Where are you going?” He couldn’t be calling a halt to their play, could he?
“The teakettle is about to explode, and so am I.” He turned her in the direction of the bathroom, swatting her backside. “Now go.”

Nicole stood under the spray, letting the hot water wash away all the dirt and grit she’d accumulated in the last several hours. She loved hanging at the beach, whether here or at home in the States. She loved feeling the grit of the wet sand sink between her toes as she meandered, combing the beach for shells to add to her collection. Her grandmother had started her fascination, and sitting on her desk back in London was the first shell she ever found. She wished she had grabbed it when she was packing her things for this excursion.
She shook her head, pushing the wet hair from her face. Who would have known when she agreed to go with Reece this weekend, things would progress so quickly between them? She was still unsure where it was headed. Was he serious when he said he was falling in love with her? Could she truly believe him? She wanted to. She was way over the top about him. If there was one certain thing she could take away from this weekend, it was that. Colin Michael Reece Woodhouse was tattooed on her heart as surely as if the artist’s needle was still pricking her skin.
The shower curtain slid sideways, and Reece joined her under the water.
“You didn’t start without me, did you?”
She shook her head. “I was just enjoying the shower spray.”
“Do you want me to wash your hair?” he asked as he reached for the shampoo bottle, popping the cap. The scent of strawberries hit their noses. “Just smelling this makes me hungry again.”
She leaned her head back as he massaged the shampoo through the strands of her hair. “Wait until you get a sniff of my body wash and lotion. By the time I’m finished with my toilette, I smell like a fruit salad.”
“I bet you taste just as delicious,” he murmured against her neck as he traced his hot mouth along her collarbone. His hands left her head, moving down her arms and back up her torso.
He cupped her breasts, his slick fingers gliding round and round over her tight nipples. “Rinse your hair and let me condition it.”
She stood directly under the spray, the shampoo cascading over her skin. She turned around, facing him, as the water splashed in her face. “What about you? Can I wash you, too?”
He took a small step backward, leaning against the shower wall. “Be my guest.”
“I thought I was,” she said, moving forward and lowering her head to his chest. She began at his collarbones, kissing across his clavicles and down around his sternum, giving each of his nipples a tug with her nimble fingers and mouth.
“What scent do you want, Mr. Woodhouse?”
He grasped her head, pulling her mouth up to his. “I want your scent, Nicole, all over me.” He pushed her backward to the opposite wall, his knee coming to rest between her legs. He skimmed his hand down her side, over the flare of her hip, coming to the center of her, his long fingers parting her folds. He flicked her there, smiling when she jumped against his hand.
“Sensitive, are you?”
“Just a wee bit.”
He grinned wolfishly. “I’ll have you screaming before this is over, I can promise that.” He lifted his fingers, licking her juices from his fingertips as she watched in fascination. “Do you want a taste?”
Her eyes narrowed. Biting her lip, she ran her hand up and down his engorged flesh, her thumb running over the tip. She raised the digit to her mouth, sucking it clean. “I can get one of my own, thank you very much.”
He raised his eyes to heaven. “Thank you, God, I’ve found me a keeper.” She laughed, burying her face in his chest.
In the next moment, she was in tears, her roiling emotions getting the best of her. She sobbed against him, hugging him tight.
He turned them around, leaning his back against the wall and lifting her face to his as he lowered his head. Her mouth was hot against his own. “You’re all discombobulated, aren’t you?”
She hiccupped. “Well, yeah, wouldn’t you be? I mean, as of a week ago you didn’t know who I was. Now you’re telling me you’re falling in love with me and making my body feel things it’s never felt before. I don’t know if it’s real or if I’m dreaming and . . .”
He hugged her tight. “Slow down, baby. Take a breath.”
She exhaled loudly. “What happens when this is over, Reece?”
“Colin,” he corrected.
“Does it matter?” she asked in frustration.
He wiped the water from her face. “Yes, when we’re alone like this, I want to be Colin and leave Reece at the office, so to speak.”
She rolled her eyes at him. “Fine, what happens when this is over, Colin?”
He kissed her forehead. “I don’t know, but I don’t want to lose you. We’ll figure it out.” The water had grown cool, along with their ardor.
“I’m sorry I ruined the mood.”
He chuckled. “You didn’t ruin anything.” He helped her out of the tub, wrapping a warm towel around her.
Nicole dried off quickly, reaching for her clean clothes, but Reece pushed her hands away. She glared up at him. “I’m not going to traipse around a strange house in nothing but my birthday suit. At least let me put my T-shirt and panties on.”
He grinned. “I suppose I can deal with that.”
“Thanks, I’m glad you approve,” she replied sarcastically as she bent over to pull her panties up her legs.
Reece watched her, admiring the view. “Where did you get the tattoo?” He ran his hand over her right hip, the heart-shaped tattoo blood red.
“I walked into a tattoo parlor and asked for it.”
“It looks brand new.”
“It is. I rewarded myself for winning the writing scholarship.”
He dropped to his knees, kissing the tattooed heart. “Are you going to get another one when you’re published?”
She nodded, closing her eyes at the feel of his tongue running over her skin. “I think I’ll get a heart tattoo whenever I get a new book published.” She shrugged. “Who knows, this may end up being my only one.”
“Don’t say that.” He nipped her cheek. “Why is it hidden on your hip?”
Her eyes popped open. She moved away from the tantalizing warmth of his mouth. “My father doesn’t know I have it. It’s my little rebellion.”
“Is he not a fan of tattoos?”
“No, he likes them. He has tattoos, and my brother has tattoos, but he says they look trashy on a woman. Personally, I think tats are sexy when they’re done tastefully and hav
e some meaning to them.”
He stood up behind her, wrapping his arm around her waist. “I think you should get one dead center in your back, so I have something to look at while I’m . . .” He waggled his eyebrows suggestively at her in the mirror.
“That’s very nice, Mr. Woodhouse. Push your partner’s head in the pillow while you take her like a dog. Super sexy,” she said sarcastically, moving out of his embrace.
“Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it,” he quipped, pulling on a pair of sweatpants and nothing else.
She pivoted on her heel, facing him with her hands planted on her hips. “Who says I haven’t? You’re not the only guy I’ve been with.” Those sweatpants looked too good, riding low on his hips that way.
He sauntered up to her. “That’s true, but I’ll be the one to make you cum while I mount you from behind.” He picked her up, wrapping her legs around his hips and carrying her out of the bathroom and down the hall to the couch.
She ran her hands through his wet hair. “You’re too cocky by half, mister.”
He nipped her ear. “And you’re enjoying every bit of it.”
She laughed, hugging him tight as her feet were digging into his tight buttocks. “Where are we going now?”
“I want a snack,” he said, tossing her down on the cushions, “and you’re on the menu.” She sat up as he moved between her spread legs, pulling her hips forward, pushing her panties to the side. “Will you let me have you?” he asked, tracing his fingers up and down her inner thighs and slowly circling in to the center of her.
Her body was already weeping its acceptance, clamoring for him to take that final step and claim her with his mouth. “What are you waiting for? You don’t need permission.”
His shoulders lowered, lifting her thighs onto them, spreading her legs wider. He gazed down at the morsel he was about to nibble, noticing the burgundy curls barely protecting her secrets. “You are a true redhead. I wasn’t sure until now.”
“You have a veritable banquet in front of you, and you’re fascinated with my hair color. This is not a seductive conversation at all.”
He leaned forward, flicking his tongue against her. “Shut up, Nicole.” And for once she did as she was told.
Reece took his time, driving her to the brink and then easing off, changing his position, and again taking her to the brink before easing off. His hands worked her below while his tongue worked her above. At one point her hands gripped his head, pushing him into her and squirming beneath his mouth to find her release. She tensed beneath his fingers, arching upward, frozen, before a scream of pleasure was torn from her throat.
He sat back on his haunches, his head resting on her leg as he watched her recover. She was exquisite in her release—her body fused in rosy hues. If he was an artist, he’d paint her just as she was now.
Nicole opened her eyes, glassy with tears, as her hips were still jerking with the aftereffects of her climax. “I don’t want to know where you learned how to do that. You’re probably a Gold card member at the Cadillac Ranch.”
He shook his head. “I’ve never heard of it.” He leaned up, kissing her lips. “I’ll tell you my secret. I’ve told you I’m a sucker for a romance novel, but I especially like the erotic ones.”
“I’ll keep that in mind when I’m out buying you a Christmas present.” She pushed up on her elbows, feeling completely wrung out. “Do you want me to reciprocate?” She licked her lips, staring down at him, his sweatpants low slung on his hips.
“I would love that, but some other time.” He yanked her toward him, flipping her over and leaving her belly against the couch cushion. He moved her hair out of the way, planting a kiss on the back of her neck. “Are you ready for the next one?”
She glanced over her shoulder, pushing back against him. “Haven’t you used and abused me enough for one day? My brain is going to explode if you pleasure me again. I can’t handle it.”
As she was talking, he braced her arms against the couch, straight out, her buttocks thrusting backward. He reached up, fondling her breasts, pinching the nipples, and making her moan. He shoved down his sweats, positioning himself against her entrance, slowly pushing forward, one hand cupping her breast, and the other between her legs, stroking her already engorged flesh. “Relax, baby. I’m going to make you purr.”
Nicole had no problem with that, allowing him to pleasure her however he chose. She kept her arms locked in front of her, constantly pushing back to meet his thrusts, her head rolling forward. The pleasure was so intense, she saw flashes behind her eyelids.
Reece wanted her mouth beneath his. He tucked her up against him, his arm around her middle and holding her tight. His hand continued to play with her as he bit the back of her neck. She jumped, peering over her shoulder at him. He quickly took her mouth before she could protest, his tongue mating with hers as his body and fingers thrust into her, bringing them both to the release they craved.
His hips froze in one final thrust as he continued to pump inside her. “You’re going to be the death of me, girl. I can’t seem to get enough of you.” White light flashed from the windows. A storm was brewing.
She laid her head against the couch cushion. “I have a feeling I’ll be bowlegged tomorrow. I don’t know who’s worse, you or the horse.”
He kissed down her back, his tongue tracing the beads of sweat on her skin. “Beauty will never feel as good as me between your legs.”
She cut her eyes to him. “I’ll take your word for it.”
He tugged her back against him, lowering them to the floor, covering them with a blanket. “Go to sleep, baby. You deserve a nice long rest.”
Nicole spooned against him, feeling his heartbeat against her back, exhausted but happy. “Colin,” she mumbled as sleep descended upon her. “You know I’m crazy about you . . .”
He tightened his arms around her. “I know,” he said, another flash in the window barely registering as slumber welcomed him as well.

Nicole woke to bright sunlight shining through the windows. Her eyes widened as she remembered everything that had happened yesterday. Had she really let Reece Collins do all types of erotic things to her body?
Her lower half was throbbing from the previous night’s exertions. She didn’t think her legs would hold her when she finally decided to rise. She closed her eyes, hoping to retreat into the arms of Morpheus, but her brain realized she was awake, and sent signals out to her other body parts. They made their presence known.
She leaned up on her elbow, peeking over her shoulder. Reece was still asleep. She decided to run to the bathroom and shower while he slept. She needed a tiny bit of girl time to recuperate.
She sat up, about to leave their nest when his arms snaked around her, pulling her back to him.
“Don’t go. Stay with me,” he mumbled, nuzzling her neck. She whispered something about a horse and a man as she tried to wrestle away. He popped one eye open. “I know that line. It’s from a Julia Roberts movie.”
She ran her finger down the bridge of his nose. “Very good, Mr. Collins.” She corrected herself at his frown. “I mean, Mr. Woodhouse, but movie line or not, I’m going to make a mess of us in two seconds if you don’t let me up.” When he refused to do so, giving her a seductive eye, she cringed. “Gross. You have just surpassed my level of kink.” She shoved away from him, jumped up, and ran down the hall.
Reece laughed, sitting up and raking his fingers through his hair. He was reaching for his sweatpants when his cell phone rang. He moved to answer it. “Good morning, Maggie, my love.”
“Colin, you need to get back here. Marcus has arrived. He’s not happy.”
He moaned as he stretched, rolling his eyes. “When is he ever happy?” Why couldn’t his brother leave him be for a while?
“I’m serious, Co
lin. There’s something wrong. You haven’t seen the morning papers yet, have you?”
He picked up on the urgent tone in her voice. “No, why?” he asked, looking over his shoulder as Nicole returned to the room. He noticed she’d dressed while she was in the bathroom.
“Just come back to the house, so your brother can talk to you.”
“Okay, we’ll be on our way in a few minutes. We shouldn’t be more than a half an hour.”
“We’ll be waiting. How’s Miss DeLancey this morning?”
He frowned. “She’s fine. Maggie, what is it?”
Her voice grew even tenser. “Keep her safe, that’s all I’ll say.” She hung up.
He stared at the phone in his hand. What in the bloody hell was going on?
“Is everything all right? You look upset.”
He pulled on his sweatpants. “I had a puzzling call from Maggie, that’s all. She says she needs us back at the house right away. My brother has arrived.” He moved toward the bedroom.
Nicole frowned. “Should I be worried?” she called down the hall to him.
He shook his head. “No, there’s nothing to be worried about.”
Her eyebrows rose; his tone was far from convincing. “I’m ready to go when you are.”
Reece came out of the bedroom, their bags slung over his shoulder. “Let’s go then,” he said, taking her hand in his and leading her out the door.
Chapter 6
Reece held the door open for Nicole as they entered the house. Taking her hand, he led her down the hall toward the kitchen. They were stopped before they made it through the swinging door.
“So, you’ve decided to join us at last?” a voice questioned. Reece turned on his heel to greet his brother.
“Good morning, Marcus. To what do I owe this honor?”
Marcus descended the rest of the way down the stairs, circling around to face his younger sibling. “Have you seen the papers this morning? Your face and ass are plastered over all of them.” He glanced at Nicole, his demeanor scornful. “And a few of her body parts as well. What do you have to say for yourself?”
