Cannon fire echoed in the distance. Richard glanced back along the large river he was walking down he had long since lost the ability to see his ship. It was frustrating to have to part with it again but the Eagle was far to eye catching to bring along for this operation.

“So monster hunting not exactly what I expected to be doing,” Tray commented as he shifted his armor. Richard smirked as he glanced back at him.

“Well we only are doing enough to get a reputation for it. We need to accumulate knowledge a lot of these new kingdoms that pop up keep their capitals well guarded and the royal families are well hidden.”

“Of course another long job why can’t we hunt for treasure not ridged royalty?” James asked,

“Buried treasure is an old wives tail,” Nathan rolled his eyes.

“Is it always like this? I am use to my travels and work being less talkative.” Audwine glanced at Richard.

“Maybe your men were not as comfortable with you. Then again I don’t really bother enforcing professionalism.” Richard glanced back.

“Little late for that,” Madison chuckled as the ground started to rumble beneath there feet.

“What are we looking at?” Richard shouted as three shadowed figures dressed in green leaped onto a nearby tree as Stephano pulled down his mask.

“Ogre about eight foot probably a few years before adulthood hood.”

“Ugly fucker,” Davina commented as Stefano glared back. “What?”

“What part of being stealthy is so difficult we are on duty, so keep your gob shut.” He hissed, she rolled her eyes. “No wonder you couldn’t kill anybody. I might be spending most of this trip getting these to back up to speed.” He muttered,

“Just try not to get yourself killed. Let’s go we got an Ogre to deal with.” Richard followed the sound of thunder in the distance as he checked his pistols the trees were forced a part as a giant grey blob of flesh parted the trees “Check your ears and spread out.” He took aim and fired his first shot.
