I hung on as long as I could, lying stiffly on top of him. I couldn’t hold that position long, though. My knees sank to the bed on either side of him and I shoved my hands into the sheets, locking my elbows so I could look down at him.
“Damn it, West, fine! Fine! You are attractive, okay? Out of my league! I don’t want to put myself in a situation where I can be blindsided again! What’s going to stop you when a sweet, naughty, gorgeous girl like Caroline comes waltzing into our lives? What’s…”
“You have that little faith in me?” he asked, frowning up at me as I lay on top of him. The look in his eyes was genuine hurt.
“No, West…I have that little faith in my ability to hold onto you…”
He quickly flipped us around so that his weight was on top of me, his hands pinning my wrists by my head as his legs pushed between mine and forced them open.
“So we’re both scared,” he quietly said, rubbing the erection pushing at his jeans over my thin panties. I bit back a moan as I looked up at his gorgeous face. “And you think we should just abandon what makes our bodies feel so good and what I know makes our hearts feel so good and not even try?”
I didn’t know what to say. I wanted to scream at him to just fuck me, but then it would be so hard to leave him. And very unladylike. I wanted to push him off me, but he felt so good and was so handsome looking down at me.
His hand suddenly left my wrist and shoved between our bodies. I felt his fingers pull my wet panties to the side and then his cock pressed into me. “God, I love you, Blake,” he moaned, closing his eyes and kissing me again.
That about did it. I threw my head back as I came, squeezing tightly around him, causing him to do the same. We breathed heavily and stared at each other for a long time before he rolled to the side and pulled me into him, my head and body cradled against his broad chest.
The silence stretched out and I got a little uncomfortable. I was afraid he was too, so I decided to say something.
“Just…just let me say it in my own time,” I whispered, knowing that it would be an eternity before I ever told anyone that I loved them again. I just thought I should tell him something, especially after it had seemed so easy for him.
His face looked surprised as he grinned at me and cupped my cheek.
“Does that mean that you’ll…be with me?” he asked in the least confident voice I’d ever heard come out of him.
I smiled and looked down, but his hand caught my chin and he forced my face up so that our eyes could meet. “Does it?”
“Yes, West. I want to be with you more than…well, anything.”
We smiled and held each other. I think we both knew that it was a very precarious situation that would continue into the relationship. The important thing is that we were both brave enough to try.
West’s blue eyes glistened as they peered down at me. I wanted to try. I didn’t think it would work in the end but since there wasn’t a Blake Campbell Life Manual like I had once thought…I figured I should try.
Yes, I really just wanted to try.
