“Do you know why?”
“No, sir, I don’t”
“It’s because he’s allergic to the dust. Why do you think we are so vigilant about keeping his room dust free?”
“I’m sorry, sir.”
“You’re sorry? I’m sorry. I’m sorry you’re such a sack of…” Wheet again cursed the young man as the two of them washed the board.
“Sir, something is written on this side.”
“Does it look important? Does it say ‘Hey you lazy sack of dog crap, I don’t want you to take me out of this room, even though it’s your job to do so?’”
“No, it’s just a bunch of letters and stuff.”
“Well, finish washing the thing, then, and get this board back where it belongs.”
Wheet exited the room and continued down the hallway, muttering to himself.
“I swear on all things holy this place would fall apart if I weren’t here. Kids these days have no work ethic.”
He went about his daily duties, happy he had performed the job well.
