Turtle Dove: A Lesbian Romance Page 28

by Marian Stack

Without any additional words towards her, the security guard talked into his radio com attached to his wrist and requested that Miss Foster confirm her guest. After about ten to fifteen minutes on the floor, Megan entered the room. “Please get this intruder up onto his feet, so I can see who this person might be.”

As she was helped up to her feet it was Megan who immediately saw the humour. “Well…well look what the cat dragged in.” She spoke with clear superiority in her voice.

“You invited me. But your front gate security wouldn’t’ let me in…”Turtle decided to stop pleading her case, as she knew, by the look on Megan’s’ face that she was wasting everyone’s time. Instead she decided to and with very precise movements, reaches behind her back and removed the bottle of wine and placed it on the closest table and announced. “My mother taught me to never arrive as an invited guest without a gift. So here is yours. It’s my friends own recipe, although I suspect you will have one of your minions pour it down the sink once you kick me out, but then it will be your loss.”

Feeling somewhat vindicated as she completed her statement and with the feeling of the man’s grip beginning to lessen on her forearm and with a little arrogance of her own, she turned to exit the room.

Now a little angry, not to mention insulted by the recent events, and her harsh physical treatment she decided that this party wasn’t worth her time, and decided to leave through the same door from which she just entered…

“Turtle… is that you?” Blair voice exclaimed as she entered the room and began to walk towards her surprise guest.

Startled at first by the voice of the person she was craving to find, Turtle slowly turned around to be exposed to a very surprised looking comrade.

“What are you doing here?” Although Blair’s voice was filled with blissful surprise, she couldn’t seem to stop her verbal explosion of questions, “I didn’t know that you were coming? How did you get here? How are you feeling, and what may I ask has happened to your clothing. And look at all the scratches on your hands and arms.” Then noticing the security guard standing off to the side, almost in the shadows, she commanded, “Mr. Jones please go and assemble some of the first aide supplies that you have at your station and bring to this room please. It’s clear that our guest requires some attention. Leave now please.”

“Yes, of course. Miss Foster, if I may add my apologies to this unfortunate situation. I was under the impression that I was detaining a thief.” He offered Turtle a respectable look of regrettable sincerity.

As Blair tenderly guided Turtle over to the perfectly placed sectional couch, it became crystal clear to Megan who had remained in the room but only as a stunned observer that this girl had to leave.

“Blair you have other guests in this house that are waiting for your arrival, and are demanding of your time. The guard can attend to the medical needs of this girl, and…”

“Megan… my love… this is no ordinary girl, this is the amazing woman who saved my life and offered me the greatest adventure of my life. You do know who this is right? You do remember briefly meeting her just after our rescue, right?” Her voice of exhilaration only confirmed to Megan that this woman had to leave her fiancée alone both mentally and physically.

Megan only offered a slight smile and a nod of her head indicating slight familiarity of the intruder. However, Turtle knew the truth but chose to remain silent regarding the deceit.

“Well, whatever the case let’s attend to your injuries, then let’s join the celebration, as it’s really more for you than me. I’m here because it’s my home and anyone who’s anyone always wants to party here but for you, you are the guest of honour because without you… this gathering would have a totally different meaning.”

“Thank-you for the supplies… Mr. Jones.” As Blair half turned her body to reach for the items, “You can leave us now. This woman is most definitely not a threat to our home.” And then as she turned towards Megan, “Meg you can also return to the party and keep our guests entertained until we have completed this and then I want a grand entrance showing off our hero to our friends and family. We won’t be very long, I have received the best training regarding caring for another.” She smiled at Tee as her statement was honest in telling as Turtle knew what she was meant because of all their required health needs during their adventure, but to Megan all she heard and saw was her fiancée caring for her new sex toy leaving her real lover to attend to menial tasks, which sent Megan’s emotional state into a seething silent rage, as she did what she was told.

And then, once the very evident sexually charged nightingale duties were completed, Blair unable to control her jubilation any longer, stood and presented her outstretched arms inviting Turtle to grab hold, allowing Blair’s momentum to easily lift her hero off the couch up onto her feet and then without hesitation Blair leaned in and kissed the lips she could no longer seem to resist.

Then only receiving a confused light kiss back Blair stood back and stated with understanding, “I get the confusion but every time I see you I just want to kiss you. And then leaning in nose to nose, “And I’m not going to apologize for my desires. So now are you ready to be the guest of honour at your celebration?” Blair smartly asked as she stood waiting for a very stunned girl standing in the same spot with her mouth agape.

As the motion picture played out Turtle could not believe where she was standing and whom she was standing beside. As the large set of double doors opened and as the music from the orchestra stopped playing, Blair took Turtle’s hand and literally yanked a little to begin her feet to start moving forwards.

Noticing the hesitation or fear Blair then leaned in just a little and stated, “Don’t worry my love, everyone here will treat you like royalty.”

And then with a slight backwards movement of her body she called out, “Are you coming Megan.”

“Right behind you, my love.” Megan voiced as she glared at the two from behind, as they walked towards the lavish and expansive backyard that was filled to capacity with their welcoming friends and associates.

After about two hours of being introduced to just about everyone at the party, Turtle needed to get some alone time to not only find the facilities but to stop all the over the top stimulation. “Excuse me Blair I have to use your facilities.” Turtle whispered into her ear, as she talked to a couple of professional colleagues. “Here let me go with you. You will get lost… What am I saying you would never get lost? I’ll be right here when you get back.” And then she did the most unexpected thing, she leaned in and kissed her on the lips, much to the surprise of the group she was conversing with.

As Turtle searched the expansive second floor for the facility she casually and continually checked and opened several doors for a possible washroom and in doing so she opened one door and heard voices coming from the semi-darkened room. Noticing that this was not the correct door and not wanting to intrude, as she was sure it was occupied, she quietly began to close the door allowing those inside their privacy. But then quiet expectantly she clearly heard her name being mentioned, in a very derogatory tone, by the familiar voice of Blair’s fiancée, and decided to remain in the shadows of the hallway and listen for a few extra minutes.

Stunned by the conversation, Turtle realized that what Megan was spouting out with such vile was true. Megan had every right to be upset. Turtle had forgotten that Megan was a part of this adventure equation whether they wanted her to be involved or not.

When they were out surviving she was back here anguishing over what could have possibly happened to her fiancée. And would she ever see her again. The anguish, she suffered must have been horrible.

So as per normal and without thinking about her next move, she decided to burst into the room, however… one of her biggest personality flaws slapped her up the side of the head… again, because as she rushed into the room to confess her sins and inform Megan that she was right in believing that she should fight for her fiancée, she was startled to observe Megan
completely nude, and exposed in bed with another woman that she quickly recognized as a introduced party guest that she had had a nice conversation with.

”What the fuck!!” Megan screamed out both in shock and anger, and then with a voice that was truly indescribable she unleashed all of her pent-up fury. “What the fuck are you doing this far in my house? Get the fuck out of this room? And while you are at it… get the fuck out of my house, and my life! And by the way you wilderness backwoods…motherfucker…butt ugly fucking butch… leave my fiancée out of your dreams, especially while you are home alone masturbating…because I’m sure you don’t have any other sex in your lonely existence, now get the fuck out of my life!!!” And then with a force that only a quarterback could throw, glass shattered against the inside of the door as Turtle quickly closed it behind her rapid escape.

As she rapidly proceeded down the stairs to find Blair her mind went wild with an internal conversation, “You have to leave now!! No you have to go find her and tell her that you are leaving. But what to use as an excuse? Just lie? She’s not going to believe any lie, it has to be a good one. I’ll tell her it’s about Rain. Good… tell her about Rain. Is she hurt? No don’t tell her that she will want to leave with you!! Tell her that Sally is having trouble with the pup and she called me for help. Good, Turtle that’s good…now get going and lie your pants off and get the hell out of this house and this situation.” Thankfully her solution came just as she reached the last step of the massive multi-level staircase.

“Do you really have to leave? I thought maybe you would stay the night, I have plenty of rooms.” Blair teased as she fondled with Turtle’s front jean pockets.

Ashamed that she wanted to stay, and ashamed that she couldn’t find the courage to tell Blair about Megan’s location she continued her lie, “Sorry just got to get back home, and to Rain. She’s still so young and with the second living arrangement move…well I just have to leave… you understand right?”

By this time she had managed to get into her open door-less style jeep, “Rain is not happy and won’t eat. Everyone is so worried and wants the best for the wolf pup…you understand right?”

  “Well yes but…

“Sorry got to fly.” Turtle shifted her jeep into first gear and without another word pressed on the accelerator.

Afraid to look in her rear view minor, but unwilling not too she quickly spied into the mirror and the reflective sight nearly broke her heart. Blair remained in the middle of the road beside the golf cart they used to get her to her parked car, as if she was a little girl just being dropped off at summer camp and not wanting to stay.

“Please…Please…Please, don’t start running towards the car!”

  The Ultimate Revenge

“I don’t give a shit about the invitations. Our entire circle of friends and family know what happened to me, this past month. They will understand that I need more time to heal and recover from the experience. Now have your people send out the postponements notices with a promise of a rescheduled date. Now I don’t want to talk about this again, so please drop the subject and move on.” Blair stated as she closed the door to her office.

Fuming beyond words from the insult of not getting her way Megan shot back to her office and sent out a message but it had little to do with her nuptials. The email read in part, Find out what you can about the cabin fire, urgent. Forever Meg.

Within the hour Megan received a message from the Rynthorp medical examiner’s office, detailing that the team from the mountain search and rescue investigators, which also included investigators from the corrections department had just completed their investigation and would send their conclusions within the week.

Pleased with the news that the investigation into the cabin fire will be completed sooner than she initially expected, gave her the push to start her venomous plan.

Days later, Megan walked into the office of the Rynthorp medical examiner’s office displaying her normal stance of superiority. She, without so much as a ‘good morning’ pulled out the chair at the head of the large meeting stainless steel table with the frosted grey glass table top and placed her handbag on the table top ensuring that the gold plated handles connected with the glass to send out a commanding sound of wealth, then sat in a perfectly poised position waiting for the information she had earlier demanded.

Just shortly after the meeting began Megan decided that her time was too valuable to sit and listen to the finding of the two jailbirds that had perished on that mountain. She wanted something else, she needed more information on the cabin fire not the full back story regarding the two women’s life during their time while incarcerated. She needed more information to kick start ‘her plan’. “I’ve come here to read not to listen. Could someone please get me a lap-top so that I can read your findings for myself?”

“Thank-you.” She sweetly stated, ensuring that her hand gently touched the hand of the medical examiner, as the lap-top was placed in front of her. “Now if everyone could just give me a minute to scan over your hard work.” And then as the others in the room quietly sat back in their chairs, Megan searched the documents for a loophole, which didn’t take long for her to discover.

As she read through the findings she discovered that the body of a female believed to be one of the two escapees had died from blunt forced trauma to the head, possibly caused by the collapse of the roof and affixation from smoke inhalation. Also noted was the unsubstantiated finding of a laceration to the chest and what appeared to have been another large laceration on the left back lower hip possible from a sharp object. A large hunting knife was located three meters from the body. The remains were too badly burnt to determine if foul play was the cause. The death was determined to be accidental in nature.

Once she completed her reading of the documents she sat back in the chair in silent contemplation, and then with all eyes on her waiting for a response she looked up at the group and announced. “Wonderful work everyone. From what I just read this case appears to be closed and I for one am very pleased with your findings and your professionalism. Now I have to be in court in two hours.” And then without further-a-do she immediately stood up which indicated to everyone that this meeting was adjourned. After shaking the hands of the team as they departed she ensured that the medical examiner was the last to leave the room.

Alone in the room Megan walked over to the door and turned the locking switch to the secured position, and then walked back over to the table where the medical was sitting. “So my dear, your findings seem very clear cut.” Adding affection to her statement Megan set her hand on the woman’s shoulder and offered a gentle affectionate squeeze.

“Yes, we can close this case, however I thought they were still attempting to recover the body of the other escapee that remains trapped on the mountain side.”

“Well my love I don’t give a shit about that one, I only want one crazy mountain woman put away for the rest of her life and out of my life.” Megan announced her devilish strategy for the first time as she returned to her chair displaying a dominate posture as she rubbed and rolled her hands together in a circular motion.

“What?” The confused word slowly escaped the lips of the medical examiner as she questioned this last statement.

“And you are going to be the most important component to my plan. Now all you have to do is change the description of death from accidental to suspicious.”

Absolutely shocked at what was being insinuated, “I can’t do that. It’s not only unethical but illegal. I’ll lose my license to practice, I’ll be the one going to jail. Sorry I can’t, I just can’t. I will lose everything I worked so hard to get.”

“You will lose me!” Megan announced, and then after noticing the look of terror on the face of her now accomplice, “Look… no one will question this. Just delete a few words and phrases, look here for instance,” Megan pointed to the roof collapsing, “You could just delete this part. And then change the location of the knife from three meters away to di
rectly under the body, and lastly change the description of the death to suspicious. And then I will take it from here.”

“What about the other investigator, won’t they notice the changes?”

“Don’t worry your pretty little head about that, I have already taken steps to help out the Rynthorp correctional officer’s retirement fund with a very generous donation cheque. Besides, no one there will take notice of a few corrections to an investigative document. Not to mention the warden is a greedy bastard and runs’ a horribly corrupt system, and the fact that he is on stress leave and some new assistant is in charge. So you see my love, no one will ever suspect. She was just another unfortunate casualty to the catastrophic disaster.” And then with plain determination Megan pulled the laptop closer to her girlfriends’ hands, indicating no was not an option.

With noticeable shaking hands, and with a few discreet changes, the document was changed and in turn changing everyone’s fate forever.

  Meanwhile

Turtle waited at the most secluded table in the room, next to the window in the small café that was attached to the oldest working gas station on the highway that connected Carterville to Rynthorp. The station had been a familiar landmark for generations of travellers, and a half-way meeting place for many. Today this gas station was getting ready to hear the saddest goodbye in its long history of goodbyes.

As she sat and stared out at the large variety of vehicles zooming pass on the newly paved blacktop highway, her eyes constantly searched in anticipation for a chauffeur driven vehicle to pull onto the property.

As her eyes scanned the back-drop her mind scanned through the past several weeks since their return, but mainly the beginning of their relationship, and the silly games that Blair at first seemed to enjoy playing. With her mind on slow browse, she was able to categorize all the times that Blair tried so hard to be resilient and superior only to have her true personality ruin the game.
