Lastly, I must thank Hampshire Archives for their prompt replies and photocopying of the documents relating to Harry Digweed and his life as a farmer in Chawton. It was fascinating to see all the details of the fields where he grew his hops and the rent that he paid for his two farms and to speculate on his possible career as a brewer.
