Cowboy Games Page 4

Peeking around the corner, in case she wasn’t decent, Jesse found himself hypnotized. Lana’s delicious round ass was sticking straight up in the air, bouncing with some beat that only she heard, as she scrubbed the shower. Her jeans only accented the graceful curve of her rear, with the pockets in the back, begging him to stick his hands in.

Jesse felt his ever-ready cock tighten immediately. He wanted that ass. He wanted it bad. To stroke it, spank it, kiss it, and bite it. The thought of her rosy ass hovering over his invading cock as they smacked together made him moan and reach down to adjust.

Lana must have heard his moan, because she let out a surprised yelp, and twirled around, almost hitting her head on the shower wall. She sat on the floor, hand to her chest, breathing hard, as her big emerald eyes gazed up at him. Jesse wanted to be a gentleman, but his eyes couldn’t help but to travel to her heaving, large breasts. Licking his lips he thought of how he really wanted to know what color her nipples were and whether they would respond to sucking, or licking the most. He didn’t miss the fact that they already looked beaded, asking for his attention.

Forcing his eyes to move to meet her innocent looking gaze, he mentally kicked himself for not rushing over to help her up. Some gentleman I am…

  Chapter Fourteen

  Lana

Smelling like bleach was not how Lana had hoped to see Jesse again. Frack! Is it noon already? Should have set my alarm!

As he inspected her chest, she couldn’t help but feel a little womanly pride. Normally she would have been pissed if a man blatantly stared at her annoyingly large boobs, but with Jesse, she couldn’t muster up the displeasure. In fact, she found herself sticking them out a little more.

As his eyes finally started gliding up her upper body she tried to ready herself for the impact of his hot silver gaze, but nothing could prepare her for the singular intensity within them. He wanted her. She could tell by his eyes and the impressive erection that he was packing that he had come to claim her. Men had wanted her before. It came with the territory of living in the limelight. She knew that for some, she was seen as a prize or novelty - a female gamer who commanded a digital world, at least online. But, in reality, she knew that she was really a homebody at heart that wanted to hang out in her PJs eating M&M’s while watching The Walking Dead.

Jesse started to move toward her and her heart started to race. No man should look that yummy after working with livestock all morning. He smelled of something elemental that she couldn’t put a name too. Whatever it was, it caused her to dampen her panties with need.

“You scared me!” Lana heard herself whisper as she dropped the sponge and held her hand up to her chest. What’s up with the whisper? To her horror, her whole body was not acting normally around this hunk of man. She noticed that her hand trembled a bit and that her legs seemed to widen on their own accord.

“Sorry,” he pushed back his dark, wavy hair and then reached down to help her up. Lana had expected that he would lend a hand, but she never expected him to sweep her off her feet, quite literally!

“Put me down, I have to weigh a ton!” Lana protested as her arms wove themselves around Jesse’s neck. Traitors!

Jesse let out a little chuckle that made Lana’s lady parts dance. “Okay.” With that he made a move as though he was going to drop her.

“Ahhh!“ Lana cried out as she tightened her arms around his neck as she felt like she was going to fall.

Jesse then pulled her closer to his chest and buried his nose in her hair. Lana felt herself still, unsure of what to do or how to read his actions.

She felt his breath tickle her ear. “Lana, tell me I’m not the only one that feels this. Tell me that I’m not crazy.” His voice was thick with emotion and need. Something she had not expected was that a man who so much exuded raw masculinity would have such an expressive voice.

Lana pulled herself back a bit so she could look into his eyes. Big mistake, she thought as she saw the intensity in which he was studying her. He looked at her like she was a delicious morsel he wanted to devour. A shiver ran through her body, which only made her blush with embarrassment. “Well, I have to admit, you’re not the only one to feel something. As for the crazy part, I can’t help you there. For all I know you are as nutty as a squirrel.”

Jesse lifted an amused brow, “Nutty as a squirrel?”

“Would you prefer a chipmunk?” Lana gave him a chagrinned smile.

Jesse shook his head as he laughed. “I’m glad I’m not the only one. I wanted to take you for a picnic to see the ranch.”

Jesse moved into the kitchen and Lana saw a small cooler on the table. “Grab the cooler.”

  “Okay, let me down.”

  “No,” Jesse flatly refused.

  Lana lifted a brow, “No!”

Jesse pulled her in closer to him, “I find that I’m partial to the feel of you, darlin’. Get used to it.” He then nuzzled his nose in her hair.

Lana could feel the stupidly big smile spread across her face. She knew that she should feel more embarrassment, but all she could muster up was wet panties and a pattering heart. “Okay.” She picked up the cooler and adjusted it on her lap as Jesse carried her to the kitchen door.

“Do you know how to ride, darlin’?” His deep, silky voice brought naughty images to her mind. Pushing them out, she tried to keep the mood light.

“Does riding on Red Dead Redemption count?!” Lana laughed as she reached for the doorknob.

Jesse lifted a questioning brow, “What’s that?”

Lana let out a breath, “I’ll take that as a ‘no’ then. It’s a really fun wild western game.”

“Yeah, then riding is a ‘no.’ No problem, you’ll just ride with me.” Jesse stepped out onto the porch and Lana saw that a beautiful chestnut colored mustang was tethered to the porch rail.

“Whoa,” Lana let out as Jesse easily lifted her onto the back of the beast.

Jesse took the cooler from her hands and tied it onto the back of the saddle.

Lana petted the horse trying to wrap her mind around the fact that in a moment, Jesse would be swinging up behind her. The horse twitched his or her mane as Lana ran her fingers through it. “What’s the horse’s name?”

“This is Samson. He loves the ladies,” Jesse joked as he swung up behind her.

Lana let out a breath as she felt his hard chest pressing against her back and his granite cock nudging her lower back. As he reached around her to get the reigns she felt her heart go into overdrive as his other hand wrapped around her waist.

“Comfortable?” Jesse murmured in her ear before licking the delicate shell.

Lana tried to speak, but she was so turned on by Jesse that she worried that all she could do was let out a little squeak. His lips and tongue were doing the most amazing things with her ear. She never knew that that part of her body could be so sensitive. And then there was his incredible smell. She noticed when he first picked her up that his masculine smell was intoxicating, but with his body wrapped around her, she couldn’t resist closing her eyes and breathing in the essence of him. Sweet Mario and Luigi, help me!

  Chapter Fifteen

  Jesse

As Jesse flicked Samson’s reigns and gently applied pressure with his feet, he felt a sense of relief that Lana seemed comfortable enough with him. He knew that she was attracted to him. Although he hadn’t spent much time with women in the past, her biological reactions couldn’t be denied. Her pupils had dilated and her breath had picked up when he had picked her up. It hadn’t been his plan to do that, but when the opportunity presented itself, he found that he couldn’t help himself. He felt inexplicably drawn to her. The strength of his emotions, despite their short time together, should have scared him, but it only seemed to make him more eager to claim her.

He wanted to show her though that it was more than just a hormonal reaction that he had toward her. He was already obsessed with her in a way that was borderline unhealthy. He found that he wanted to talk t
o her and know everything about her. Jesse rarely spoke to anyone but Cody; however, he wanted to tell her all about himself. Seal himself to her that she would want to keep him, as he already wanted to keep her. His stomach knotted, knowing that it was strange to feel this sort of pull to someone he hardly knew, but his whole being recognized her on a level he couldn’t explain. He had heard of love at first sight and never believed it. He wasn’t sure this was that, but it certainly was so strong that it was unsettling and yet comforting at the same time.

As he took her through the green fields toward the forest edge, he hoped that she would like the picnic spot that he had chosen. Jesse loved the feeling of her curvy frame against his. She was so tiny, yet she fit his body so well. He would have expected her multicolored hair would have turned him off, but as stray pieces flew into his face and tickled his nose, he found himself charmed by the purple, pink, and blue strands. It was one more facet of who she was. Her individuality on display in a world full of cookie cutter wannabe’s.

Jesse could hear her breath catch as they moved up to Suicide Bluff. It was spectacularly beautiful. Every time he saw the craggy cliffs across the small ravine under them, he felt the same way. This had to be one of the most beautiful places on Earth, for sure.

He moved his mouth close to her ear and took the opportunity to breathe in her uniquely seductive scent. “Suicide Bluff has always been one of my favorite places in Outlaw’s Pass.”

Lana’s head turned, her brow furled, “Is some place this lovely really called Suicide Bluff?” She gestured toward the astounding natural beauty before them with her delicate hands.

“The story of how it got its name is an interesting one, and certainly shaped Outlaw Pass Ranch,” Jesse stopped Samson and dismounted. Immediately he missed the feel of Lana’s body.

“What’s the story?” Lana, still on Samson, looked around the landscape as Jesse tied Samson up to a nearby tree branch. As he did so, he couldn’t help but notice how right she looked on his horse and on his land. It made something in his chest expand to the point that he rubbed it for just a moment.

“I’ll tell you all about it,” Jesse promised as he reached up and lifted Lana down. He couldn’t help himself but to feel almost set ablaze when her small hands landed on his shoulders as he brought her down, rubbing the front of his body with hers. Satisfaction filled him as he heard Lana’s breath catch and her gorgeous emerald eyes dilate. They stood there, in their own world for a moment until the call of a hawk broke their connection.

Jesse placed his hand on the small of her back and led her toward the precipice. “This here is Suicide Bluff. Take a look over the edge first, then I’ll explain.”

He could feel the change in Lana’s muscles as she walked toward the edge. “Are you afraid of heights?”

Lana let out an embarrassed laugh, “I know it’s strange for a person who makes her living flying virtual Starfighters, but I am.”

“I’m here with you, darlin’. I won’t let anything happen to you… that you don’t want,” Jesse heard himself add. Please don’t let her think that I sound creepy!

He was relieved when Lana turned her head and gave him a glorious smile. He let out a breath that he didn’t realize he was holding.

At the edge of the cliff, they looked down. Jesse let out a pleased laugh. “Wow, darlin’. You bring good luck!” Below, along the meandering river, stood a herd of wild mustangs.

He turned to look at Lana and was blown away by the look of awe on her face. “Are those wild mustangs?”

Jesse wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer. “Yup. See that black fella over there,” Jesse pointed to the horse standing sentry at the edge of the group. The horse looked up at them with a challenge. “That there is the stallion of the group and these ladies here are his herd.”

Lana held a hand up to her mouth, “Wow! That’s a lot of ladies to keep happy!”

Jesse gave her a smile and gave her a squeeze. “That’s the truth. That’s why I plan on devoting myself to one lady.” Idiot! Did I just say that? I’m on the verge of losing my man card.

Lana let out a small surprised sound, “Really?!” She breathlessly asked.

  Chapter Sixteen

  Lana

Lana would have sworn that Jesse could hear her heart beating a billion times a minute. As he had pulled her close and all but whispered those words about devotion in his masculine drawl, she thought that she might swoon. Swoon? Really?! What time period is this? The 1700’s?

Clearing her throat, she tried to think of a safer topic to discuss before she begged him to explain to her what lady he would devote himself to. Already her lady parts were shouting ‘Me! Me! ME!’

“So, Jesse, why is this beautifully peaceful place called Suicide Bluff?”

She looked over at Jesse and saw him surveying the countryside around them. It was truly breathtaking with the tall, rugged mountains, winding river, the colorful flowers that decorated the river’s edge, and wild horses. It looked like a National Geographic picture.

Lana’s insides jumped with pleasure as Jesse began speaking in a slow, deep voice. “Back in the 1860’s many people left the east coast of the country to get away from the Civil War. My family was no different. My great-great-great grandmother, Sarah McFadden had traveled from Virginia to get out of the battle.”

“Wow! I wish I knew about my family!” Lana let out. Growing up with none, she both loved to hear people speak of theirs, as well as felt a pang of jealousy for their sense of belonging.

Jesse let out a breath and turned them around, “Where’s yours?” Jesse asked as he let go of her and moved toward Samson. Grabbing a blanket that had been rolled up and the cooler he walked back toward her.

Lana took the blanket from him. She was kicking herself for saying something. It wasn’t that she was ashamed of her background, she just rather not dwell on it or incite pity from others. “Oh, I was an orphan. No biggie.”

Jesse stopped moving and looked over at her. His face was like the granite of the mountains behind them. He looked enraged. If she had actually been the target of his anger, she would have been afraid, but she felt none of that with him. “How?” He ground out.

“Oh you know. The same old story. Probably a teenage girl gave birth to me and dropped me off at a church. At least, that’s what I tell myself. It was so long ago, who knows?” Lana gave a shrug as she grabbed the blanket from him and spread it across the green, tall grass.

Jesse looked down at the ground, then toward the cliffs and swallowed hard. He looked to be trying to suppress his emotions. She wasn’t sure how she felt about how strongly he had taken her news. Did it mean that he didn’t want to be involved with someone who lacked a past like him? Don’t go there, Lana! You’re not even involved! It’s just a picnic! Don’t read into anything!

“Lana?!” Jesse said forcefully as he sat down. She realized that he had said something as she had been feeling nervous.

“What? Sorry!” She reached for the cooler to try to hide her nerves.

“I asked how you got your lovely name, Lana.” She could feel his eyes on her as she opened the basket and prayed that it wasn’t more of that awful pizza. To her surprise it was roast beef sandwiches.

“Sorry it’s not champagne and strawberries,” he let out in a gruff voice as he took one of the sandwiches.

“Oh! This is great!” she said with false gaiety as she unwrapped hers. She prayed that he would forget his previous question. She didn’t want to talk about her past. He gave her a look that made her realize that he wanted her to continue.

Setting down her sandwich, she let out a sigh. “Well, I used to be named something really awful.”

“What was that?” Jesse asked as he reached in the cooler to pull out two bottles of water.

Lana laughed, “It’s a government secret. If I told you, I’d have to kill you and you seem like such a nice guy. That would truly be a shame.”

“Tell me or I’ll tickle it
out of you,” he threatened.

“Will not!” she challenged as she wadded up her napkin and threw it at him. She was horrified over her childish move, but she loved his smile in response. “Anyway, I decided to change it. At the time I was a big fan of Superman. Have you seen that show? The one where Lana Lang is Lois Lane’s cousin?”

“Nope, but I don’t watch much TV.”

“Somehow I’m not surprised! Ha! Well, I guess I chose the name Lana because…”

“You’re still waiting for your Superman?” Jesse interjected.

Lana let out a hearty laugh, “Sure! Why not? Although I prefer to save myself.”

Jesse moved closer until his shoulder was brushing hers. Lana felt the air around her still as she focused on the slight touch. “You certainly are brave enough and strong enough to save yourself, but why? Why not let someone be your Superman once and a while?”

Lana wasn’t sure how to respond to that, so she just shrugged. “I guess we all have to learn how to fly on our own. Some of us are let out of the nest sooner than others.”

“But you don’t like heights,” Jesse stated with a laugh.

“Yup, but life doesn’t care about that,” Lana said as she picked at her sandwich. She desperately wanted to change the subject. “So tell me about Suicide Bluff?”

Jesse turned his head and looked into her eyes. He was so close that his luscious lips were a mere three inches from hers. She could feel his breath. Normally she would have found this gross, but it didn’t bother her. So many things about him that she would have normally disliked with someone else, felt like a turn on when he did it. Damn, even breathing falls into that category, she teased herself. But a bigger portion of her herself wondered what he would do if she moved forward and kissed him. Was she that brave?

Taking a deep breath, Lana leaned forward. She kept her eyes open so she could gage Jesse’s response and was pleased to see that he was following suit. Her eyes drifted closed just before their lips touched.
