A Case For Trust

‘So, have you set a wedding date?’ Justin propped his long, jeans-clad legs on the wide handrail of the verandah and accepted the coffee mug Pippa handed him.
‘June twenty-first. Here in Eleanor’s garden, late afternoon.’
‘Good. I should be back by then.’
Pippa looked up in consternation. ‘Back? Where are you going?’
‘London.’
Pippa and Matt exchanged glances over their own coffee mugs.
‘Work, or pleasure?’ his brother asked nonchalantly.
‘Pleasure. I hope. I thought I’d drop in and see how Lucy’s faring.’
‘It’s a little bit out of the way for a casual visit.’
‘I hope to stay a while.’
Pippa’s and Matt’s shared glance became a shared, conspiratorial smile. ‘And when do you leave?’ Pippa asked.
‘Tomorrow week.’
‘That soon? But we had a date!’ Justin looked bewildered, Matt bemused. She elaborated. ‘The Bar Association Ball. You insisted I go with you. When I wouldn’t let you take what’s-her-name. The judge’s sexy clerk.’
‘Oh. I’d forgotten all about her.’
‘And about me, too, apparently. What am I supposed to do for a date now?’ She pouted prettily, and her fiancé reached out a casual, tender index finger and brushed her bottom lip. She pressed her pout to his finger and, to Justin’s theatrical disgust, made a loud smacking kissing sound. Matt grinned and tugged her onto his lap.
‘Since this cavalier pup has abandoned you, my love, would you consider accompanying me?’
‘To the Bar Association Ball?’ Justin scoffed. ‘That’ll be a first!’
Matt raised dignified eyebrows at him. ‘You’ll discover, Justin—if you’re ever smart enough, or lucky enough—that for the right woman, you’ll do all sorts of things you’ve never done before.’
‘Well, for this woman, I imagine that’s probably true. But you know, Matt, there aren’t too many women in the world like Philippa.’
‘I know it. I’m counting on it.’ Matt nuzzled Pippa’s knuckles and pressed his lips to her wrist. ‘If you’re not drinking that coffee, little brother, I’m sure you’ll remember you have somewhere else to be about now.’
Justin took the hint, and left them to it.

The strongest sunshine casts the darkest shadows...
Cate Boyd is searching for a place where nobody knows her name. The sleepy Maltese village of Xlendi offers privacy, anonymity, and the serene life she craves, far from her former world. But her peace is shattered when monolithic development company Vena announces its plans to level her village, and threatens to expose Cate’s secrets if she stands in its way.
Her peace is shattered when monolithic development company Vena announces its plans to level her village, and threatens to expose Cate’s secrets if she stands in its way.
The arrival of seductive, nosy professor Brandon Blackshaw seems too coincidental for comfort — especially when she discovers that Vena is his research partner. As the pressure mounts, Cate must decide which is more important: her hard-won privacy, or the future of her beloved Xlendi.
Take Me As I Am

A small town romance sent against the romance of the beautiful Dandenong mountains about loss, lies, and the courage to live true.
Forget the whole billionaire tycoon thing: Kate Moore is a billionaire’s daughter, and she knows first-hand that they’re not all romance novel worthy. Her father is brilliant, inflexible, and brutal – and nothing she’s ever done has been good enough for him. Her one chance to take over the massive Moore’s Hotel Corporation is restoring the run-down Burnham Beeches in beautiful Sassafras to its former glory. To that end, she hires David Wright, a talented landscaper with an unparalleled eye for beauty and an unparalleled talent for distracting her from her goal.
David really needs this job. He needs the contract, the Moore’s name on his portfolio, and the money to pay for his ailing father’s health. Everything he’s worked for is now within his grasp, and he’s going to reach for it with both hands. What he doesn’t need is the diversion, or the temptation, presented by his new boss.
Neither David nor Kate are free to follow their own desires, but they’re powerless to fight their growing attraction. But they come from very different places; perceptions will have to crash, misconceptions will have to collapse, and they will have to face their own personal challenges before they find their space to meet in the middle.
Parallel Roads
Mel Teshco
What would you do, if you had the chance to revisit all your decisions, to fix all your mistakes?
Celebrity chef Jessie McCormick is incredibly late. Driving his Hummer to the opening of his latest restaurant seemed like a much better idea than flying, but incomprehensible directions and a dodgy shortcut throws him instead into the driveway of a rickety old house. Hopeful of finding the house occupied – and its inhabitants capable of directing him to Brisbane – he heads inside.
Voices lead him into the attic, and there he finds no direction – and every direction. The attic is an endless line of doors and ladders, each taking Jessie down a different path of his life. In one, he is a celebrity chef, fêted by the world. In another, his mother is still alive. In a third, his beloved sister is dead.
But in all of them is a small, dusty town and a small, dusty restaurant, run by a woman named Tara. As Jessie races to find his way back to his own life, he must make the biggest decision of his life: rescue his sister or take his chance at true love.
