For what seems like hours he draws pleasure from me.
For what seems like hours he teases me with everything but what I really want.
For what seems like hours he whispers all the ways he loves me.
“YEO!” I roar and buck with need. “I need you!”
His strong, sculpted body climbs over mine. Hot flesh zaps my own and the slick sweat we create sends ripples of excitement rushing through me. I’m kissed with the hunger of a thousand starved men as he teases my now dripping sex with the tip of his perfect cock. Normally, here’s the part where my responsible boyfriend would slide on a condom. Not just to protect my body from pregnancy. But also to protect my heart from what-ifs. To protect our future from the horrors of my past.
He pushes into me slowly. Bare and unprotected. In such an aching way that almost has me screaming for him to hurry. But I don’t… I dig my fingernails into his firm shoulders and tilt my head back to bare my throat to him. His lips tickle the skin on my neck before he sucks me hard into his mouth. As I cry out, he drives the rest of the way into me. I’m not in pain. But I am I’m dying of pleasure.
“Don’t stop,” I plead as he begins pumping into me with a cadence that matches that of my heart.
“I’ll never stop, Kadydid. Never.”
And he doesn’t.
Yeo makes love to me with an intensity that won’t die with this life. It roars and roars and when we’re both long gone from this world, it will ripple with whispers until the end of time.
Pleasure explodes around me and the white room dances with colors.
With a groan, he releases his pleasure inside of me. No barriers anymore. Just Yeo and me. Together, we are finally free.
“I love you at your best and I love you at your worst. I love every single part of you. I always have and always will. I even love the parts I hate about you. How fucking weird is that? And I’ll continue to love you in every capacity, no matter how strange that makes me. I’ll fill in the missing voids of your heart with parts of mine,” he whispers while his cock still twitches inside me. “Together, we’ll be whole. I love you, Kadence Marshall. Please marry me.”
I love his whispers.

Five months later…
Badass Motherfucker
“Weddings are gay,” I say, a smile playing at my lips. And they kind of are—all flowery and shit. Lame music too.
The little girl with the brown pigtails sticks her tongue out at me. “You big liar. I can tell you like it.”
I shrug my shoulders and regard the fancy affair on the banks of the Monongahela River. “Everything’s always so…white,” I complain. “Where’s the black? Where’re the Cheetos? Who’s hiding the pot? Where’s the good music? Who even listens to this shit? Am I right?” I nudge the serious officer beside me.
He only grunts in response. “Drugs are bad.”
I snort with laughter.
“White is a symbol of cleanliness, pumpkin. Cleanliness is right there next to godliness,” says the old woman wearing her old robe and tattered slippers to the over-the-top frilly gig.
The little girl giggles at her words and I tug at one of her pigtails before regarding the other woman in our group. “What about you, Candy Lips?”
A smile tugs at her bright orange lips and she adjusts her scarf on her head. “I think weddings are beautiful. Especially this one. I thought we’d never get to see it.” She swipes at a tear.
Life sometimes calls for exceptions.
Love sometimes demands them.
We’ll make an exception this one time.
A cat circling my feet meows, so I pick it up and regard my family as I scratch him behind his ears. All perfect and mine. We don’t belong out there with her. That’s her world. Our home is here. Behind her. Watching her back. Always there to pick her up if she stumbles.
Luckily, she has him.
And he’ll never let her fall.
That beautiful, strong, resilient loving man will always catch her.
Always.
My heart does a little squeeze in my chest. I don’t think that pain will ever go away. The memories stay fresh in my mind and they’ll get me through this existence. I’ll take them wherever I go.
“Time to go, peeps,” I say finally, my gaze lingering on the two better parts of The Terrible Three.
My family moans and groans but they know it’s time.
We don’t linger anymore.
We let her do her thing.
They do as I say because I’m the motherfucking boss.
“I heard that,” the old woman chides.
I grin and snap my fingers. “Candy Lips, my jam.”
The little girl hands me a pair of black shades and I trade them for the cat.
Sabotage blares in the background as I run my fingers through my hair. The officer steps in beside me and all three girls flank me from behind. The feisty feline meows.
“Machine gun,” I whisper.
When I’m ignored, I roar. “Machine gun!”
The officer shakes his head. “You’re such a weirdo.” But he hands me my machine gun anyway. Giggles from all my bitches behind me.
“And soap from this one,” the old lady gripes.
Oops.
I take the clean smelling bar from her and bite down on it. At this point in my life, I’m getting used to the disgusting taste of the soap. I’ve been punished on many occasions this way. Sometimes even badass dudes have someone they answer to.
I look over my shoulder for one last glance. Goodbye, Kady Bug and Kitty Muncher. Turning from the light, I embrace the darkness. I lead the way for my family and step toward the shadows.
“Let’s roll.” I toss the bitter soap and gesture for them to follow me. “Time to blow this popsicle stand.”
And we do.
Bones is motherfucking out.
The End.
Dear Readers,
Thank you for going on this unusual ride with me. I hope you enjoyed all of the complicated characters that were a part of Kady and Yeo’s world. This story sat in my brain for probably an entire year before I even attempted to write it. I knew it would be challenging to write with a ton of research involved. There would be some areas where I’d have to trust you to suspend reality for a bit and just go with it. I can’t thank you enough for trusting me to give you something entertaining, emotional, thought provoking, and ultimately…an impossible love story.
Please join the Whispers and the Roars Spoiler Group once you’ve finished. It will be a place where you can speak without spoiling it for anyone. As you well know now, this story will be ruined by spoilers. I beg of you to keep your honest reviews as vague as possible when it comes to the plot and the big twist. It’ll make for a much more enjoyable reading experience for those who come after you.
Thank you,
K Webster
