Autumn Dawn (Fate's Intent Book 11) Page 9

by Bowles, April

The sounds coming from her were a total wanting and I knew she was almost at her peak. I kept it going and paid close attention to her actions so I’d be ready.

Watching her under me was getting me more aroused and when her grip got tighter and her breaths halted for a few seconds, I pushed harder for an ultimate finish. It truly was different when I got to watch her be satisfied and it was a pleasure all its own.

She was still breathing strong after those pulsing seconds to recover but she still couldn’t move. She let out a few more breaths when I left her body and lowered her leg back down onto the bed. I sat next to her and leaned down to her lips, kissing her but Lana fought hard to try and kiss me back.

It made me laugh quietly. “Did I make you tired?”

Her eyes slowly opened and she turned her head with a light nod. “Very. That was so incredible. I don’t mean to sound totally cliché but I’ve been missing out.”

I laughed again and brought her hand up to my mouth, kissing it. “Don’t worry. You won’t have to anymore. You can get it from me whenever you want.”

“I’ll be glad to take you up on that. You still going to stay?”

“Of course. My mind hasn’t changed.”

“Good.” Lana moved herself as best as she could and got under the blanket without bothering to put on anything. “I’m ready to sleep. You don’t mind that I stay like this, do you?”

“No way.” I got right under the blanket with her just how I was. “As long as you don’t mind if I do it too.”

  “It’ll make morning easier.”

I moved closer with a smile and we kissed. “Perfect.”

She leaned towards the side of the bed and turned out the lantern. She kept her body faced that way and pulled my arm up behind her. I held it around her and pressed my body up against her from behind.

  “Goodnight, Dirk.”

I kissed the back of her head. “Goodnight, Lana. Sleep well.”

She hugged my arm and held it tighter against her. “I will.”

I smiled and let her hold me however she wanted and rested my eyes for the night. It seemed all my years of waiting paid off. I was finally holding her and it finally felt right.

  Chapter 17

  Bryce

  “Bryce, where’s Dirk?”

I was jumped and turned. “Oh, Darius. Um, he just left, chasing after a blonde.”

Ruby was quickly on his side. “A blonde?”

  “Yes.”

  “Topaz dress? Red fox top?”

I looked at her a little strangely for the details. “Ah, you’re talking about fur, right?”

  “Of course.”

  “Then yeah. How did you—”

“Oh, Darius!” Ruby said with worry as she took his arm. “He doesn’t know!”

“It’s all right, darling. I’m sure he’s going to find out.”

“What?” I wondered. “They’re not related or anything, are they?”

Darius laughed. “No. Nothing like that. So, where is your date?”

“My date?” Their eyes were both on me and it was a strong intimidating pressure. “Ah—” I looked around in nervousness and grabbed the closest girl to me, getting a snack at the table. “Right here.”

She was in a black dress trimmed in pink with her black curly hair cascading down over her shoulders. She looked up at Ruby and Darius with her brown eyes and a smile. “Evening, your graces. My lover not in trouble, is he? I warned him about his mouth.”

She took my hand like we were truly together and Ruby and Darius just looked at each other with a smile.

“How good of you.” Ruby said. “Carry on.”

She turned away and Darius met my eyes before he turned and followed.

I watched them get farther away and then sighed in relief. “Oh, that was terrifying and they’re not even my parents.”

The girl next to me laughed and let my hand go. “Sorry about that.”

“No. Thank you for playing along. Now I know why Dirk can’t get away with anything. Their look forces things right out.”

  “It’s their eyes.”

I looked over while she took a sip from her glass and looked into hers. “Yeah. That’s probably true. Forgive me for staring but I don’t think I’ve seen you around here before.”

“No. I wouldn’t say so. I’ve been traveling.”

  “Traveling?”

“Yeah. New exciting life and all of that.”

She stood silently and slowly started to smile as I was putting the pieces together. My eyes popped open and I quickly looked down the front of her. “You’re an Assassin.”

  “Maybe.”

  “Naomi.”

She looked at me a little oddly. “How’d you know that?”

“I was told about you—I mean, I was informed.”

“Oh, in that case, I was informed about you too. You’re Bryce.”

“Yeah. The other two are here too?”

“They’re around. You were just talking about Lana.”

“Lana? The blonde one Dirk chased?”

“That’s her. An awful coincidence you sent him after her.”

  “Why?”

“She likes him. You just gave her what she wanted.”

I laughed and glanced up towards the door before looking back at her. “Would you like to sit with me? We could talk some more. I bet there’s a million things you already know about me.”

I could tell she was nervous, taking a glance around the room like everyone was watching us but I didn’t think anyone was. “All right but I’d like to steal a dance from you first.”

  “A dance?”

“I’ve been watching you. You’re quite good.”

I smiled and held out my arm to her. “Think you can live up to it?”

She couldn’t help but smile back and set her drink down as she took my arm. “If that’s a challenge, I accept.”

We walked away from the table into the crowd and I looked up at the musicians with a head nod. They started playing slowly as I slid one of my hands to hers and the other two her waist. Our eyes were completely focused on each other as we started moving as one with the other dancers.

It was like dancing on air for me the more I watched her. The sound of everything around me was muffling out and the music sounded extra soft, just low enough I could keep my rhythm. Even visions of other dancers around me started to fade and it was only us.

The music’s tempo changed and we went faster. Naomi was spun around and pulled back in by my steady hand and we got even closer. Our eyes were locked on each other’s and everyone else around was nonexistent.

Our hands were comfortable on one another as the music started to lead into the finale and I spun Naomi away one last time and gracefully pulled her back close where I turned her right around into a dip with my hand holding her bent leg up to my side on the last drum beat.

Applause filled the room and Naomi unexpectedly rushed closer to me. Our lips met for the first time and I could feel the instant chemistry. The cheers were still going on and I took my eyes off her for the first time to see everyone standing around us, clapping. I was a little shocked to see it and Naomi seemed just as much. She let out a light gasp and disappeared right in my arms. I looked down to see nothing but I could still feel her with me as I stood up fully. I just couldn’t believe it. I was shocked speechless and my eyes found my mother’s.

She just smiled and I was suddenly pulled away by something I couldn’t see. The crowd of people seemed to forget about it completely as the music started playing again and I was brought to a back corner, out of sight from everyone else.

Naomi reappeared, taking deep breaths and looked back to make sure no one was following. “That was scary. I hate it when people watch me like that.”

I still had wide eyes and my mouth was hung open. “How did you—”

“Disappear? You don’t need to be so surprised. We Assassins have gifts too.”

  “I’m sorry.” I said, try
ing to shake off my look of dismay. “I really just never would have guessed that.”

“It would have come up in our conversation somewhere. I just didn’t expect that to happen.”

“I didn’t even notice until it was over.”

“Well, you are a fine dancer.”

“It only looked that way because of who I was dancing with. You’re more than fine. I’ve never had a dance like that before.”

She smiled. “I very much liked the ending before the horrorstruck feeling.”

I was looking in her eyes as I have for some time and smiled back. “Me too.”

Our hands met and fingers laced as our eyes were still connected and we started to lean into each other. Our breaths were on each other and our lips were anxious to meet again. When they did, I felt the passion in it and I put my hands on her. My tongue tasted that of hers and I couldn’t stop it. Naomi soon had a tight hold around me and she was moved up against the wall.

Our kissing continued with intensity and we both began to take longer, harder breaths.

When our lips parted for a break, I moved mine to her neck.

“How is it possible you can be this amazing?”

I smiled and moved my kisses back up towards her face. “I’m not doing this alone.”

“Oh, I know but I’m not exactly the jump-into-it type.”

I pulled away from her with a worried look. “Am I making you uncomfortable?”

“No. Of course not. I meant previously in other experiences but this is different, better. I don’t mind jumping into it this time. I want to.”

I still had my hands at her waist and looked towards the sound of people. “I don’t think I could walk out of here with my pride.”

Naomi laughed. “I didn’t say we had to leave.” She moved away and walked to a storage doorway that was blocked by thick heavy curtains and simply looked back at me with a wanting pose from her body. “You coming?”

She turned in the doorway and I didn’t hesitate to go after her. I stepped up through the door and saw Naomi in the storage room looking around. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. She was so beautiful.

I watched her move a few things back on a table and sit herself up on it. “This will do.”

I smiled and stood in front of her. “Not very romantic. It’s old and dusty in here.”

Naomi laughed while taking the collar of my coat and pulling me closer between her spread legs. “Perfect height. Just imagine how good everything’s going to make me look.”

  “You don’t need help.”

She laughed again and gave me a quick kiss. “You’re sweet but I don’t care where we are as long as we’re together. It feels right.”

She slid her hands up around my neck and kissed me more passionately. I put my hands back on her and was feeling it too. I didn’t care where we were either. She was too beautiful, too perfect to mess this up and I wouldn’t stop it.

I took off my coat, letting it drop right on the floor and Naomi started to help unbutton my shirt. She ripped it opened and I felt her desire as she rubbed her hands on the bare skin of my body. Our lips parted and I looked her in the eye as I took my shirt off the rest of the way. Naomi immediately reached behind her and untied the laces around her neck that held her dress up. She pulled the front of it down to her abdomen so her breasts were exposed and I put my hands on them as I leaned in to kiss them.

Naomi’s eyes closed to the touch of my lips on her breasts and she held my head there with one hand while she leaned back a little and held herself up with the other. I continued to do it and used my hands to pull up her dress. The long slits on the side helped and my hand came in contact with the soft, moist skin of her feminine form.

It caused me to pull back from her breasts and start undoing my belt. Naomi helped and put her hand down the front of my pants when she got them open. I took a wanting breath in when she grabbed me then she moved her hand and gathered her dress at her center where it stayed and I pulled her hips closer to the edge of the table. Naomi laid back as I did it and balanced her heels on the edge, eagerly waiting for me to make the next move.

I stepped up closer to her and had my eyes down, watching as I introduced our bodies. We both let out a breath when I slid inside her and I put my eyes back up on her, thrusting my hips. Naomi had her head leaned back as she moaned with pleasure and I couldn’t turn my eyes away from her reaction.

Her breasts bounced with the momentum of my hips and her hands began to reach for me. I leaned forward enough that she grabbed my arms and pulled on them, showing she craved more. I bent down over her and put my hands on her breasts while stretching my lips towards hers. Our tongues heightened the mood and Naomi moved her hands up to my neck and we looked in each other’s eyes as I pulled away. Her breaths were getting faint and I stood up again, taking it just a notch slower and watching her enjoyment for my performance.

This experience for me was an obvious sign that she was the one. It was hard for me to fight through even the slightest blink because I didn’t want to lose sight of her. Every motion I made caused a different reaction from her and she reached for me again, gripping the tight muscles of my thighs.

Taking it slow was becoming too much for me to bear as Naomi kept pulling my hips into hers like a silent gesture that she wanted more and I was ready to give her just that. I took her right leg and crossed it over in front of me so her hip was turned out and I had a deepening angle on her. Naomi immediately reacted to the change with her heightened moans and her nails dug into my skin.

It didn’t affect me. My concentration was on her completely and I felt the moment was soon. Her climax was nearing and I hastened my thrusts, making her cry out vigorously for her finish. Her breaths kept their strength when I moved her leg back and slowly pulled myself from her body.

All Naomi could do was lay there with her chest pumping hard with her breaths. I just watched her for a moment as I retied the front of my pants then reached for both her hands.

I pulled her up into a sitting position and her eyes opened with a smile as she lowered her legs and leaned towards me. “How is it possible you could be that amazing?”

I smiled to her repeating herself and kissed her gently on the lips. “I wasn’t doing it alone.”

Naomi smiled and kissed me again before she pulled the front of her dress back up over her breasts and I helped her hop down off the table. Her skirt fixed itself by falling down towards the floor and she noticed how hard I was still breathing. “You seem to be in need of some rest.”

  “It was worth it.”

Naomi smiled as she took my hand and looked around. There was a chair in the corner that had a few bolts of textiles laying across it and she pulled me over to it. “Here.” She moved the bolts to the floor and turned me into the chair. “Sit.”

I laughed as she did it and leaned my head back to rest as my legs were holding me in the chair while I slouched. “I’m not really in the position to fight it.”

Naomi smiled and propped herself up on the arm of the chair, leaning in towards me with her arm on the back by my head. “Then you can stay here as long as you’d like.”

“And you can stay here.” I put my arm around her waist and pulled her down into my lap with one sudden motion.

Naomi laughed from the surprise. “Okay! I don’t mind.” She pulled her legs up into the chair and I was completely holding her up so she wouldn’t fall. “How long shall I stay here?”

  “However long you want.”

“Good. It’s not like we’re missing any fun out there.”

I laughed. “Definitely not. It’s much more fun in here.”

“See? I told you it didn’t matter where we were.”

“Oh, I knew that. So, should we have our conversation now? We kind of got side tract.”

“Okay.” Naomi smiled as she moved for a moment to get more comfortable in my lap and propped her head up on her arm by my head. “And how would that start?”

  “Well, qu
estions are a good way like where the fuck have you been all my life?”

Naomi laughed. “I’ve been in Kalu with my family. I grew up in Dorlin, being raised by my aunt mostly.”

  “What of your parents?”

“My father travels and my mother died when I was young.”

  “Oh, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked.”

“No, it’s okay. I was young. Things happen. I’m okay with it.”

“So, what made you decide to become an Assassin?”

“I went to school with a girl who knew since birth that she was going to become one and we’ve just kind of connected. She got me into it.”

  “Cadence.”

  “Yeah.”

“I met her a few years ago. She must be who Dirk saw Seth leave with before I sent him off after Lana.”

“Yup. That was Cadence all right. I saw them leave. She’s been waiting to see him again.”

“Oh, I know all about the waiting. Seth has been doing that for years.”

“Everything worked out, I’m sure. They’re probably officially finally together and if I know Lana like I think I do, she hooked Dirk pretty quick.”

  “So, that just leaves you.”

“Yeah, I guess so. Lonely me unless your available.”

“You think I would have just done any of this if I was unavailable?”

She shrugged with an innocent smile I just adored. “I don’t know. Would you?”

I couldn’t help but smile to the look on her face. “Yeah, you’re probably right. You’re really hard to say no to.”

Naomi laughed. “I knew you weren’t with anyone. I wouldn’t have tried if you were.”

“But I’d like to be and I would hopefully assume you’re not with anyone. I’m still a little tired to have to kick someone’s ass so I could have yours again.”

“That’s sweet.” She leaned into me and kissed me quickly on the lips. “And no. I’m not with anyone.”

“Do you want to be or are you not that type?”

“Hmm? I don’t think I know anyone up for the job.”

“I’ll sign up for that but if there’s a line, it’ll have to wait till morning. I’m in no position to kill anyone tonight, well, anyone else.”
