The Place We Met Page 33

by Isabelle Broom

I must also thank my brother, Lysander, who gamely agreed to accompany me to chilly Lake Como on a New Year fact-finding mission. If he hadn’t accidentally punched me in the face and talked me into traipsing up the side of a mountain, then this book would never have gained two of its best scenes! Nobody supports me more than my family, and it’s them that I look to continually for inspiration when I’m plotting. Thank you to all of you, but especially to you, Mum. I don’t know how you keep loving us all so relentlessly, but I hope you know that we all love you back just as much.
