He continued his descent, effectively wrecking me with his teasing tactics. I tried to halt his actions when he slipped out of my hand by wrapping my legs around his rear to pull him back up.

“Damien, I need you,” I murmured breathlessly.

  He was not having it.

“Not yet. I want my mouth on you first.” He nudged my thighs apart with his legs until I was laid bare before his eyes.

A strangled gasp escaped me when his mouth connected with my aching clit. His torturous, languid circular motions only served to make me pulse around his tongue. His hand drifted across my thigh before he pressed a finger into my slick heat, slow and steady, where he expertly rubbed it along my sensitive inner wall.

Uncontrollable pressure built in my core, and my muscles clamped down on him, trying to draw him in.

“Deeper?” he asked in that domineering gruff tone of his.

“Yes,” I pleaded, shamelessly pushing myself onto him.

He thrust his finger all the way into me, pumping in and out of me.

My hands dived into his hair, and I threw my head back, utterly delirious with lust. I was one hot mess with my impending orgasm sending electrical sparks shooting off within me.

And then I ignited. A shiver rippled down my spine, and I liquefied beneath him, seeing stars in my line of vision until I gradually floated back down to earth.

His movements had slowed but were still working their magic inside me, building me up all over again. Then, he came up over me and cradled my face while he dragged the tip of his cock through my wet folds. “Do you want me to fuck you here, on the beach?” he growled along my lips. “Or should I make you wait a bit and carry you inside, where I can take my time with you?”

Our bed wasn’t that far away, yet as my body swarmed, dizzy with want for him to take me, it seemed like miles and miles to the house.

  “Here. Now,” I panted.

That strikingly handsome grin of his spread across his face. He damn well knew he had me exactly where he wanted me—needy and yearning for him.

He pushed into me with one fast, hard stroke, seating himself to the hilt. I moaned at the sensation of him stretching me, filling me full.

He began to move in and out of me with sensual purpose. His abdomen flexed and tightened with every deep grind and swivel of his hips. He lowered his lips to mine where he ravenously kissed me, consumed with his own primal need to have me. I molded my curves to his hardness as he possessively gripped my hips and began to fuck me, good and proper. I gripped him like he was my lifeline and met each of his thrusts.

It wasn’t long before another orgasm simmered low in my belly. Everything clenched, tightening and pulling from deep within me.

“Control it, Raelyn,” he demanded, hammering on.

I bit my lip, overcome with sensations. It was impossible to hold back when he made me so hot. My sex was throbbing impatiently, begging for a release.

I snuck my hand in between us and rested my fingers around the base of his cock, soaking them with our arousal. I relished in the feel of our bodies connecting so passionately.

“Raelyn,” he barked out, gritting his teeth. It seemed he wasn’t so immune to my touch.

I squeezed at the base before seductively spreading our arousal and swirling the pad of my finger right before his goods. I felt his vein swell, and I gently grasped his balls in my hand before giving them a light squeeze.

  “Fuck,” he groaned out.

I knew I had him right where I wanted him. He hit me hard and deep with one powerful thrust of his hips and then did it again, impaling me with his generous length.

It sent me hurtling over the edge. “Oh God,” I moaned in pure bliss, detonating around him.

Irrepressible shakes raked through his body as he pumped his hot cum into me before carefully collapsing atop me.

After a few moments of catching our breaths, his lips drifted across my face where he placed tender kisses on my forehead and temple. I could stay like this, here, surrounded by his love, indefinitely, forever.

I tipped my face up, searching out his mouth. He closed his lips over mine and ardently kissed me. My heart soared, filling with all-consuming love for this man.

He broke away all too soon. “Let’s get you up to the house. I want you well rested for tomorrow.” He beamed, knocking me back with his smile.

I was too sated to argue with my stubborn man, so I complied and said, “Okay.”

I became aware of my surroundings again. The slight breeze tickled my flesh, and the faint smell of the salty sea filled my nose as he briefly left me to round up our clothes.

Damien returned to me and lifted me into his arms to carry me up to the house, stark naked—not that I was complaining. I just wished I had a better view of those ridiculously toned buttocks of his.

With one hand on Raelyn’s bare thigh and the other on the steering wheel, I cruised down the highway to Redington Beach. It was where one of my contemporary vacation estate rentals was located. The luxurious mansion was secluded, making it the perfect place for my girl to unwind, and I’d also get to reap the benefits of having her all to myself. We both needed this—just us, no interferences.

It wasn’t long before we pulled up to the gate where I lowered the window to enter the four-digit key code before pulling up the driveway. The two-story house was ten thousand square feet with a master bedroom overlooking the ocean.

I felt Raelyn’s eyes on me, so I glanced at her.

  “We’re staying here?” She gaped.

I grinned boyishly, delighted with her reaction. “For the next two days,” I said, bringing the car to a stop in front of the double garage.

The two of us exited the car. I grabbed both of our bags out of the trunk before walking her up the front sidewalk where we passed through the new landscaping that had been remodeled this year. Several flowers were in bloom in lots of red, yellow, and white hues. It really brightened up the entrance.

I shoved my key into the lock, turned it, and pushed open the door to enter the open-floor space as Raelyn trailed behind me, looking around in awe.

The living room floor was a shimmering tan-and-gold marble tile with a large white area rug and matching furniture. A seventy-two-inch high-definition plasma TV was off to the right, centered above an electric fireplace. The north wall had floor-to-ceiling windows with a spectacular view of the pool and ocean. Two of the panels were sliding doors to enter the deck.

“You own this?” Raelyn’s voice trailed off as she came to stand beside me.

I knew exactly what she was looking at—all the white.

“Yes.” I set down our bags, really hoping she liked this place because it was the only ocean-front rental I’d had vacant on this short of notice.

“Are you sure?” She tilted her head to the side and asked, “Because the Damien I know and love doesn’t care for white. He prefers everything to be black and gray.” Her eyes danced with mirth as she stepped into me. “Or just black.”

I set my hands on the small of her back and gently yanked her toward me, immediately content with having her in my arms. “Yes, it’s mine.” I smiled one of my smiles that I reserved just for her. “The interior designer told me white was fresh and clean-looking, the color of luxury.”

Her brows rose at me, making me laugh.

  “What?” I asked.

  “I’m shocked; that’s all.”

“I’d never want to live here.” I rolled my eyes and grinned. “But I can tolerate its brightness for two days.”

“Well, I think it’s beautiful.” Raelyn threw her arms over my shoulders to kiss me. “Thank you for bringing me here.” She beamed a big, beautiful smile, the very one that reminded me I’d do anything to see it over and over again.

These next two days of lounging were just what she needed to unwind.

“You’re welcome,” I breathed, still drinking in her beauty.

  Unable to resis
t, I crushed her lips with my own, determined to have her mouth on mine. The feel of her melting into me kicked my heartbeat up several notches, sending it into overdrive, as it always did when she was touching me.

I wondered how I could feel so strongly for another human being and live to survive the powerful effects it had on my heart. There were no words to describe the intensity of my love for Raelyn.

Raelyn pulled back on a gasp and slightly swayed on her feet. “You, sir, do serious things to me.”

“I’m glad to hear it.” I grinned incredibly so before cocking my head toward the patio. “Do you want to start our day in the pool, relaxing for a bit?”

“That sounds absolutely heavenly,” she said, redirecting her gaze to follow mine.

Raelyn went to her bag to undo the zipper. She pulled out a racy black scrap of material, barely resembling what one might call a swimsuit.

Twirling to face me, she dangled the outfit in her hand. “Like?” she asked with twinkling eyes.

“It’s fucking perfect,” I growled out my reply, unable to ditch that grin on my face, feeling thankful I had her all to myself without any lingering eyes nearby. Plus, it wouldn’t take much work to remove the garment later.

She sashayed her hips straight to the bathroom directly in front of her. “I’ll change in here, so we don’t get sidetracked.”

I arched a devious brow at the confidence in her tone and shook my head. “Like a bathroom door would stop me from taking you.” I let the heat and challenge in my voice be heard, loud and clear.

A ringing noise sounded in my pocket. It was the one I’d specifically set for Suzanne. “I have to take this call, gorgeous. Go get changed, and I’ll meet you in the pool in five.”

“Don’t make me wait long.” Raelyn winked, walking into the bathroom.

“Hello, Suzanne. Is everything okay?” I answered the call while retracing my steps to let myself outside through the front door before quickly shutting it behind me.

“Yes,” Suzanne responded right away before letting out a deeply troubled sigh. “No, I’m worried about William, and I don’t know who to talk to or what to do.”

“How so?” I asked, feeling my pulse quicken at the mention of my nephew. I made my way down the sidewalk, staring blindly at the landscaping, and ran a hand over a yellow flower.

“William has just been so…disconnected lately. From everything. He won’t ever talk to me about his emotions. I think it’s because he fears he’ll upset me even though I reassure him that he won’t. He hardly eats, and he’s restless all the time. I’m sure part of it is switching schools twice already, but I fear his distress goes much further beyond that. I’m at a complete loss, Damien. I feel so helpless.”

I constricted my hand over the flower, crushing it, as I felt the same tightness in my heart. I hadn’t seen William much at all in his life, due to my lifelong rift with Drake, but I’d felt an instant connection and love for the boy when he fell on my doorstep, seeking rescue from his abusive father.

“Have you tried to get him to speak with a counselor or anything of the sort?”

“All the time,” she cried. “William wants nothing to do with it. He keeps everything bottled inside. Worse, I’m beginning to think he blames himself for Drake mistreating us. I love my son so much, and I want only what’s best for him,” she rushed, weeping. “I don’t know what to do, Damien. I’m desperate to help him, and you’re…” She sounded hesitant. “You’re the only one I’m aware of that’s ever experienced anything like he has. You…you can relate to him.”

I parted my lips to speak, but Suzanne added, “I’m sorry. I don’t mean to sound judgmental or invasive.”

I shook my head and lightly told her, “Don’t be sorry. I can swing by tonight, if that’s good for you.”

This would interrupt a few hours in my getaway with Raelyn, but this was more important times infinity, and I was one hundred ten percent positive that Raelyn would agree with me.

“He has band tryouts this evening. Tomorrow, he gets off the bus at four o’clock. Would any time after that work for you?”

“Yes, I’ll pick him up at four tomorrow,” I confirmed.

“Thank you, Damien.” Suzanne sniffled into the line. “You’ll never know how much this means to me.”

If I could lessen William’s struggles, even just a little, there was nothing I wouldn’t do to help him through this traumatic time in his life.

“You’re more than welcome. Oh, and, Suzanne?”

  “Yes?”

“Hug him, and tell him you love him, day and night.”

“I do, and I’ll keep doing it every chance I get.” She sobbed into the line. “Bye.”

“Good-bye.” I hung up the phone and released a lungful of air.

Once again, I was overwhelmed by the constant battles life had tossed at me and those I loved. It killed me to know William had endured some of the same disturbing hardships in life that I’d had as a kid. It was cruel and unfair. No one should have to be forced to live through abuse. No one.

I shoved my phone into my pocket and strode inside the beach house. Heaviness plagued me as I carried myself into the foyer. Through the tall glass panel windows, I glanced up to see Raelyn in the pool. She was lying on a big floating device with a magazine in her hands. There appeared to be another one in her lap.

Aching to join her, I went to my suitcase and pulled out a pair of black trunks. I went into the bathroom and swapped out my clothes for the swimwear before quickly making my way outside to join her.

As Raelyn lay, reading her magazine, in that scrap of a swimsuit, looking irresistible and edible, I drank in the stunning sight of her curvaceous body that I’d never have enough of. She looked unbelievably at ease and in her element, and I let her soothing aura calm me.

She finally glanced up when I sat on the edge of the pool to put my feet in the water, still watching her. The water temperature was perfect.

“Oh, you’re here.” She beamed, smiling at me over the paper.

I wanted to clear the air right away, so I told her, “I need to dip out for a couple of hours tomorrow night. William is having some troubles, and Suzanne thinks it might help if I talk with him. I hope you don’t mind.”

“Oh no. Of course, I don’t mind. William’s well-being is important to me.” Raelyn’s face contorted, truly concerned. “I hope he’s all right.”

“I hope so, too.” I shared her same feelings. “Let’s pray that me talking to him can do some good. Since William and I share a somewhat similar past, Suzanne thinks it might make a difference if I talk to him.”

“I think that’s a great thing for you to do.” Raelyn smiled approvingly. “I’m sure William’s feeling very confused and alone. And I must agree with Suzanne. William has come to you before, so that means he trusts you. Whatever it is, I’m sure that you being there for him will mean so much to him.”

“I hope so,” I murmured, distracted. “I’d hate to see him steer down any wrong paths due to Drake mistreating him.” Going for a change of topic, I asked, “What are you reading?” I noted there was a bride on the front cover.

Seeing the magazine made me unbelievably happy to know that our upcoming wedding nuptials were on her mind, as I was intent on making her officially mine. Soon. Now. Today.

“Lots of bride stuff.” She hummed.

I slid off the edge of the pool and down into the water. I went to her, folding my arms over the side of her pool float to lean on it.

She turned the page. She must not have liked that page because she immediately flipped it again. “It’s all so much to take in…so many dresses to look at and try on. A gazillion cake and flower selections. Two dozen churches and reception halls to visit along with photographers and DJs. How will I ever narrow my choices down?” She inhaled a shaky breath. “And the average price a couple usually spends on a wedding? Good grief. I could trade in my little ole Malibu and buy a new car!” She set down the magazine and placed her hand at
op mine, instigating that familiar spark that ignited whenever we touched. “Let’s elope.”

“Gorgeous girl, I’d like nothing more than to put you on my plane and take you to Vegas. But it’s not for us.” I stroked my fingers back and forth along her soft skin. “And I forbid you to stress about money. I want to see you walk down the aisle, wearing a stunning white lace dress, to say, I do, while we’re surrounded by every little detail you imagined for our day.”

“Well, when you put it like that…” She sighed all dreamily. “I do want it to be beautiful. Still on a budget though.” She gave me a stern eye. “After all, I am an accountant. Being sensible with precious dollars has been embedded into me.”

I mimicked her expression, confident I’d get my way on this. She would be getting her perfect wedding day. End of story.

“No budget,” I stated firmly before jumping onto her floating device to distract her from arguing with me.

“Damien!” she screeched, grabbing both her magazines and the edge of the floaty to stabilize herself.

We both managed to keep from capsizing.

I used her frazzled state to sneakily snatch one of her magazines before leaning back and crossing my legs. I opened it to the first sticky note tab. “Now, let’s narrow down these choices and hammer out all the details today.”

“Ha! Yeah, right!” she scoffed, laughing. “You can’t plan a wedding in one day. That’s impossible!”

“We’ll see.” I snorted, glancing at the pages.

Jesus. This one had lots and lots of bright pink flowers on it. Everywhere. Flower ball things were hanging from every beam on the ceiling of a barn. More flower balls were slung over the end of each row of seating. A large wooden arch was centered over the altar, covered in more flowers.

  All pink.

The flowers were all really cool, but the pink was too much for me.

I kept my tone hopeful as I said, “Please tell me you don’t want that much pink at our wedding.”

I gazed at her to see her eyes were intently studying me.

  “And if I do?”
