He looked at Myna, and she nodded. She was glad that the crows were not to be forgotten.
“Crow Cove,” said Eidi. “It’s a wonderful name.”
And so they toasted again.

The stone beneath Myna’s feet felt smooth and cold, and curving around it, the brook murmured on. The sea’s waves softly licked the shore, and from her house came the sounds of happy voices.
The moon shone on the little cove and made the three houses stand out brightly white against the dark stone cliffs. Myna made a hollow of her hand and leaned down to drink a sip of the clear icy water. Then she dried her hand on her forehead, cooling her skin.
The night air came pushing in, and together with it came a feeling that a great wish had been fulfilled, that in some strange way she had gotten what she had hoped for. And for a dizzying moment she felt perfectly happy.
She drew a deep breath and put her head back, and there, high up in the sky, she saw the North Star winking down at her.
She sat there until she began to be chilly; then she got up and walked back to the warm house.
