"No. Did you find it under a chair?"
Alexis's face fell into his hands, the leaf clutched painfully tight between his fingers. "This was our worst fight, wasn't it?"
"Lexi?" Rafe asked uncertainly. "Lexi!" He knelt by the singer's feet and put his arms around his boyfriend's waist.
Alexis lifted his head out of his hands. "Never again? Promise me?"
Rafe felt Alexis's dirty fingers stroke his hair with great gentleness. "Never again," he replied, taking the leaf from his boyfriend. "There's only you, Lexi. Only you."
