Her Russian Knight (Brie's Submission, #13) Page 19

by Red Phoenix

The pain she would feel would pale in comparison to the passion he would coax from her. When he felt she was ready, he lay between her legs and looked down at her.

“Do you know how beautiful you are?”

Her arched eyebrows, so expressive and feminine, teased his masculine sensibilities as she looked at him with pure adoration.

Rytsar positioned his shaft against her wet, untouched opening. “I love you,” he told her as he began to press his cock into her. Her gaze never left his, and she made no sound as she took in his hard shaft.

With slow strokes, he made love to her. As Tatianna’s body grew accustomed to his length, he was able to increase the intensity of his thrusts. He kissed her deeply, wanting her to associate the act of fucking with the intimacy it inspired.

The moment when she instinctually arched her back to receive more of his cock was powerful and significant. He pressed his lips against her neck and bit down, claiming her as his mate. Tatianna cried out in passion and pain, shuddering as she came for the first time.

Rytsar ached to join her in release but he held back, knowing there was so much more he needed to share. An entire night of lovemaking would not be enough to adequately express the depth and intensity of his love for her, but he was determined to try.

As dawn broke over the horizon, Rytsar leaned down to kiss her beautiful breasts, his spent cock buried deep inside her. He tenderly moved a stray curl from her face, glistening with sweat.

This time it wasn’t Tatianna, but Brie whom he saw. “I love you, radost moya.”

A lone tear ran down her cheek as she leaned up to kiss him.

“Thank you for last night,” he said gruffly as he rolled from her body to lie beside her on the bed.

She took his hand and intertwined her fingers with his.

The simple gesture touched him and he lifted their entwined hands, smiling to himself.

Rytsar felt lighter of spirit, as if Tatianna had truly been with him during the night. He was a stronger man for it—and was ready to face what lay ahead.

  His Vow

Rytsar entered the hospital room with Brie at his side. He held out his hand to Thane and shook it firmly. “Thank you, moy droog. You cannot know what that meant to me.”

Thane nodded, glancing at Brie and motioning her to him. Shaking with effort, he took her hand and turned it palm side up, kissing it tenderly. He noticed the fresh scar on her wrist and then looked at Rytsar.

Rytsar spoke up before he even asked. “Yes, I made the vow of fidelity and protection with her, as I did with you eighteen years ago, brother,” he answered, showing his matching wrist.

Thane looked up at Brie and with difficulty, turned his own wrist over to show off his old scar on his left arm, and smiled at her with warmth in his eyes.

Brie broke down in tears, wrapping her arms around Thane, kissing him first on the lips and then over every exposed surface. “I love you so much, Sir, it hurts.”

Thane turned his attention back on Rytsar. With great effort he said, “I can’t…lose you.”

Rytsar frowned, placing his hand on Sir’s chest. “Nor I you, comrade. You must vow to do nothing. If they do not ascertain a threat, they will have no reason to kill you.”

  Thane shook his head.

“You must. They will eliminate you without hesitation.”

He continued to stare defiantly at Rytsar.

“Who will be left to raise the babe?”

A pained expression flashed across Thane’s eyes, and he glanced at Brie again. Rytsar could tell his brother was struggling with the cold reality of the situation they faced.

Rytsar clasped his hand. “I have accepted my fate, but it cannot be yours.”

Brie cried out, “I wish we’d never gone to your club that night.”

“I have no regrets, radost moya. An innocent girl was saved. Rejoice with me that I am able to die a guiltless man.”

Her bottom lip trembled and she turned from him, trying to rein in her emotions. Rytsar took solace that she cared so much, but tears would only make it harder for him.

“Is there really nothing we can do?” she finally asked when she could face him again.

“Let me go when the time comes.”

Thane shook his head, still rejecting this unwanted reality.

Not wanting to waste time on things that could not be changed, Rytsar began to reminisce. “I think back to that boy I met in college…” Rytsar smiled impishly at Thane, adding, “What a social misfit.”

Thane frowned, but Rytsar saw a hint of amusement behind his expression.

“If it hadn’t been for a certain lively rebuttal you had with the philosophy professor, I would never have befriended such an utter nerd.”

Thane croaked out the words, “Pompous…ass.”

Rytsar laughed. “Me or the professor?”

  Thane raised an eyebrow.

Rytsar shook his head, tsking. “Such blatant disrespect shown to the man you owe everything to. If it weren’t for me, your peasant ass would have graduated with honors, and you would have wasted your life away in an office—missing out on the very best life has to offer.” He gestured to Brie and kissed the air toward her.

Thane glanced at his woman, staring at her thoughtfully.

Rytsar slapped him on the shoulder. “We found out that tragedy can make the strangest of bedfellows, did we not? Who knew there was another man out there with as much emotional baggage as me?”

  Thane chuckled softly.

“You may be exceptionally guarded, calculating and demanding, but your saving grace is that you are a very generous man. The fact you shared your one prized possession with me—for that I am eternally grateful.”

Thane looked at him knowingly and nodded.

Rytsar took Brie by surprise, lifting her into the air, and saying passionately, “Ya obozhayu tebya.”

  “We both…do…babygirl,” Thane said gruffly.

Brie shook her head with a shy smile. “I don’t know what that means.”

Rytsar leaned down and mouthed the words, “I adore you.”

She blushed sweetly, grinning at them both.

“But seriously, moy droog, the greatest gift of all is this.” Rytsar whipped out his phone and hit the play button. The clear sound of the babe’s quick heartbeat filled the room, infusing Rytsar with a deep sense of hope.

Tears came to Thane’s eyes as he listened to it.

“No matter what Fate brings us, life will go on. It is a miraculous thing.”

Thane nodded, holding out a shaking hand to Rytsar.

Suddenly there were screams out in the hallway.

“Blyad’, they’re here. I never thought they would storm the hospital.” He whipped out his phone and sent the prewritten warning “daleko” to his men, knowing they would carry out his plans. He then looked to Thane and commanded, “Close your eyes.”

He reached in his pocket and pulled out a small piece of paper, pushing it into Brie’s hand while murmuring under his breath, “Eyes to the floor, radost moya.”

Rytsar turned to face the door. For a moment, time seemed to stand still as he waited to meet his fate. The sound of his heartbeat filled his ears—slow, steady, and even.

Life is a strange series of events, he thought. Pushing a person forward to meet up with destiny.

Rytsar felt no fear as the four men entered the room with guns raised.

  “Durov!”

He held up his hands in surrender.

“Don’t make a move or everyone here will die,” the leader of the four warned.

Rytsar noticed one of the men playing with the trigger on his gun as he stared at Brie. It was obvious the cretin was itching for a kill.

To distract him, Rytsar growled angrily, “Only weaklings work for the Kozlov brothers.”

The man took the bait, holstering his gun to throw a hard right in Rytsar’s face.

He took it without flinching, even smiling afterward, which only infuriated the man and invited seve
ral more furious blows. Rytsar grunted as his knees gave way and he fell to the floor, the sound of blood rushing to his head as the darkness crept in.

“Look at you,” his attacker said, laughing cruelly. “Hiding in a hospital like the coward you are to avoid us.” He kicked Rytsar in the ribs for added insult.

“Enough!” the leader said. “We’ve wasted too much time here.”

  “What about these two?”

Low, sarcastic laughter filled the room. “What, you mean that invalid and the sniveling cunt? Not worth the bullets to take them out.”

Rytsar felt hands on him as he was dragged out of the hospital room. The sound of Brie quietly crying behind him was cause for rejoicing.

He had succeeded in protecting her, and Thane was alive and recovering.

That knowledge allowed Rytsar to relax as he was shoved into the waiting van outside, as the police sirens closed in.

With the song “O Fortuna” ringing in his mind, Rytsar lifted his head up and attempted a smile, tasting the blood from his broken lip. He laughed at the pain as the van careened toward his destiny. Rather than kill him, he was being delivered into the hands of the enemy.

A crack to the skull from the butt of a gun ended his reverie and he sank into the black abyss. But as the darkness closed in around him, the promise he’d written on the note Brie now held in her hand flashed in his mind.

  It was his solemn vow.

Tell moye solntse to save a dance for me. ~Anton

What lies ahead is a difficult road for them all.
