Grace finally sat up as well and spun around to lay her head on a pillow next to Clara’s. She looked over at her friend as she took her hand. Clara, giving it a squeeze, smiled over at her. “So, that was a surprise.”
Grace giggled. “Yeah, I saw you watching me in the shower and I just couldn’t help myself, you looked so innocent lying out here all alone.”
Clara shrugged and then she asked the question that had been in her head from the moment Grace had first kissed her. “Are you, uh, gay? I mean, because if you are, I totally support you and . . .”
Grace laughed out loud and gave her a kiss on the cheek. “No, I’m not gay. I just like to experiment. I’m sorry to say, you’re not my first girl.”
Clara looked at her, wide-eyed. “What?”
Grace shrugged. “What can I say, there are some things that I hadn’t shared yet because well, it never seemed the right time, and I thought you might not understand.”
Clara frowned. “Grace, there is nothing you can’t tell me, ever. Do you understand?”
Grace smiled and nodded. The two hugged and then settled back to relax and watch some TV. Then, Grace turned to look at her again. “As long as we’re clearing the air . . .”
“Yes, Grace?”
“I thought I should tell you that you look awful in that yellow shirt. It’s just not your color.”
Clara grabbed the pillow from behind her head and bopped her friend in the face. “Oh, yeah, fashion expert?”
Suddenly, the two girls were rolling and wrestling on the bed and soon after that, they were enjoying the newest aspect to their lifelong friendship. The rest of the trip suddenly seemed to become that much more exciting.
They both decided that getting the hotel room had been money very well spent.
