“That’s where you’re wrong,” I tell Peter Tugg or whatever the hell is inside of him.

Honestly, I wish I wasn’t here right now. I wish that there was another way to do all of this. There never was, though. From the moment I signed on to help Owens I knew that I was in for a bloody trail, a crimson hunt through the darkness and into the depths of psychosis and madness. I never expected to find this though. Honestly, right now, I’d rather be fucking Lola. Watching her pigtails bounce with every push. I’d take a whore or that sexy blonde girl who goes to the Catholic school by my house. I would take any of them. I would rather be drinking and fucking right now, but that’s not in the cards. That’s not how this was going to ever play out. No, I was dealt a different hand.

“You fucked up,” I tell Mr. Peter fucking Tugg as I put the gun to my temple. I’ve seen enough suicides to know how to do this right. I put the barrel right in front of my ear. There isn’t going to be anything left. “You’re dying.” I watch as his legs give out and he collapses to the ground.

“No!” he snarls at me as the pool of blood that he’s slipped in is growing with every second. One of his eyes is twitching uncontrollably and his hands are shaking. He’s bashed his head enough to do some serious damage. I look down the hallway to where the door is locked. The pool of blood spreads as his thrashing slows. His eyes begin to blink slower and slower before growing dim. I know the cycle. I know how it works. It has to flee its current host into the last person it touched. Tugg is gone, and I am free to go now. It is safe. I lower my arm. I need to go see Kelly or Lola. Anyone really.

I close my eyes and shake my head. At least Kelly will be safe now.

I put the pistol back to my head and squeeze the trigger.

  XX

  Lola and Kelly,

This was the only way to ensure that it is over. I’m sorry it had to go this way and hope that you will see that there was no other option. It is over. The prisoners can be released free of charges.

  About the Author

I live in southern Louisiana with my wife and children, and work full time as a civilian employed by the federal government. I like to spend time with my family and am excited to announce our newest addition, my only son, recently born in February of 2014.

I spend as much time as I am able writing, but also enjoy downtime with the wife and kids, and am a bit of a movie buff as well. I thrive on sarcasm and nerdism and am currently addicted to The Big Bang Theory amongst other things.

Fiction has always been my reading genre of choice, though I am picky about who and what I read, and I refuse to read a series out of order. I have been known to devour entire sagas in mere days, emerging only when necessary for survival.
