As for Mags, he waved to the crowd, and Amily took her cue from him and did the same. Then they descended in their (mended) wedding finery to join their friends. Meanwhile, everyone else who was here because it was an Occasion, and needed to be Seen and See People, did what they had intended to do from the beginning: go find other Important People, gossip, and play politics. But right now, now that they were done being the showpieces for the King’s pageant, they could be just Mags and Amily surrounded by the people they loved, and who loved them.
Which was just fine with Mags.
