He swivels in the massive black leather chair and turns to face the horizon visible through the long rectangular glass panes. A smile spreads across his face as he hears the door open behind him.
“All set?” Silas asks, his enthusiasm obvious.
“Of course, sir,” a clipped male voice replies. “Exactly as you requested Mr. Blackstone.”
“Excellent. An important addition to my collection.”
“Everyone is in place sir.”
“And Harleigh?”
“Ready for interception.”
Silas pulls a cigar from the stash in his mahogany desk as the corners of his full lips lift into a smile that’s more horror and deception than joy. “Soon,” he whispers in the air then turns to the assistant, “Harleigh will need her playmate.”
